Just got done changing the damper to my frigidaire. The process of removing and putting on the damper was easy the hard part for me was putting it back together. Some advice put the long screw in the back next to the damper first it will save you a lot of time.

Thank you so much! This was exactly our problem with our Frigidaire side-by-side, 6-year-old refrigerator. Watching your video twice, then ordered the part (same part as yours), and wallaahh! Our refrigerator is now running perfectly again! Took about an hour or less to swap out the part .... took about 4 hours for the temp to reach 43 degrees and okay to restock. Running at 41 degrees right now. I cannot thank you enough, dude!!

I had the 5 beeps with the flashing digital H1. If you open your freezer door while holding your hand over the vent in the top left corner of the refrigerator, you should feel air circulating. If you do, your issues is that the return air flow, on the left wall hidden by the top draw, is frozen and not allowing circulation. Get rid of the ice before replacing the damper. I used a hair dryer to melt the ice and the H1 disappeared as the temperature in the refrigerator dropped to normal again.

      @wolverine67044 Před rokem

freon doesn't go bad. Growing up we had an old General Motors refridgerator. My guess is that it was manufactured in the late 40s-early 50s. An older brother ended up with it. As far as I know it's still working. Only thing we had to do is to defrost the freezer once in a while as frost would build up and reduced the space we could use. It survived at least 4-5 moves. You couldn't stop this thing. They don't build or design them like they used to. Now most products are expected to work for several years and gets discarded when it stops working.

I have a similar issue with this model but instead of flashing h1 it flashes 4 when it is set at 6. After a while it will go back to 6 and stops flashing then about 5 or 6 hours later it will go back to flashing 4 on the refrigerator side. Is it the control panel ?

Th dampener was stuck frozen it seemed
I unstuck it and re installed it
    It is staying open now
But the code is still happening
    Will it go away??
When I open the freezer up more air blows out than when the freezer is closed is that normal??
As long as the dampener stays open I should be good??
How long before the H1 code goes away if the dampener stays open
    Or is it something else?

How do you know if it's the damper? I'm having that error code, i just cleaned the coils as id never done that and i read that could be the issue. They were REALLY bad so I'm hoping that was it. But if it's not resolved then I'm back to square one. So id like to know what to look for to know if the damper is what needs replaced. Thank You!!!!

Mine had H1 codes for freezer and fridge. The vents at the bottom on the inside of the fridge were covered in ice. I cleared it. The return vent on fridge side was iced, but cleared it as well.
Ice built up again, the freezer stays cool, but doesn't freeze. The fridge doesn't keep cool at all. The damper is open, but doesn't push cold air into the fridge side.
      What may be wrong?
      The codes are gone though.

I have a Frigidaire FFHS2611LWMA side by side that keeps freezing up in the freezer, ice seems to accumulate around the ice maker and drips some once ice has frozen coils occasionally freeze up too but not too bad all the time. First can you tell me where the defrost timer is located on this model. I think that could be the problem but it's not next to the compressor in back and I can't remove the digital control panel because it seems to be attached with wires to the freezer. I think that goes to the thermostat. Did you just cut it and reattach it later? What do you think it sounds like the problem is? The refrigerator doesn't get warm. Maybe a leaking water line behind the ice maker? Any advice might help. Tired of defrosting the freezer every month about. Thanks. -J
