  • There are few things quite as versatile (or inexpensive) as a good ol' 2x4. Here's a few ideas on how to use them to create your own garage or shed workshop.

Great video, it's all so simple! Plus the basic concepts extend to other areas of the home as well - like those diagonal brackets, very useful creating storage in a basement or well anywhere really. In fact this tip was the inspiration for my garden hose hanger that's working great!
Only one disappointment: there's a saw horse in both the thumbnail and shown @ 0:15 in the introduction but no instructions to make it. That would be a great DIY on its own - preferably without the resin pieces!
Thanks for this great series, keep up the fantastic work!

the drill holder was really useful

But it's better if it's mounted diagonally - I did this to my tool cart and the drill can't fall out, and is easier to insert...

Just look up "resin brackets" in the lowes website and didn't see anything similar to what comes out in 0:59 of the videos. What are the pieces called?

Here they are! www.lowes.com/pd/2x4basics-Black-Polyresin-Shelving-Brackets/3536336 They're categorized under "DIY Project Brackets" on Lowes.com. All the other pieces shown are linked via the video cards. Thanks for watching!

Use chunkier pieces of lumber for the workbench. You don't want it moving around while doing stuff on it. And it will move. For example, instead of 2X4 use 4X6 for legs and rails. It will move less, last longer, sturdier, etc. Otherwise great video encouraging DIY!!
