I've got to make this for my guide dog puppy in training this Halloween! My puppy raising club always has a matching costume contest, but it's so hard to find good patterns that don't restrict the movement of the pet. Thanks for the clear instructions and easy tutorial, I can't wait to make one for my April!

+Lukas Steponenas I can promise you that there is no physical harm to cause my cat any pain, the costume is soft and loose. I would actually compare his reaction to kids that have to wear embarrassing clothes that their parents make them wear XD Tommy isn't used to wearing costumes either so I don't keep him in it for longer than 10 min :)
+Mey Lynn I had a cat-Baconator (she was 22lbs) - who would refuse to take off her costume after it was put on her. We put a dog Santa suit on as a gag, and she walked around in it for a week- every time I tried to remove it, she would go crazy and start yelling. I finally replaced it with a dog sweatshirt, and she wore that for most of the winter ( she was an indoor cat, but she would go play in the closed garage for fun, so she must have liked being cozy while she was out playing lol)

yeah he's got the "kill me" look on. so did my rabbit today, when I found out he tolerates me putting a shark dog costumes on him that I found for under $5 on clearance..😂😂 he refused to stand up, only lay down with it on, and wouldn't leave the position I put him in. he's not a bad bunny model!

For the body of the pattern: The top curve is the neck area measurement, the bottom curve is the waist measurement. For the hoodie/ hat part: one side of the pattern is from the forehead to the back of the neck, the other side is one half of the front opening, and the bottom is one half of the neck area measurement. Best I can do in writing!

1.5 yards seems good. Get the cutting table to measure it out and then before they cut, see if it looks right!

I made one for my guinea pig and the only difference is that you have to make the hood shorter! I also added a button on the back and a lil' slit on the hood so you can have the hood flat and secure on the back of the hoodie

How sturdy is it? Do the pieces peel off easily? This is too cute btw!
The pieces do not peel off easily, it's actually extremely difficult to pull apart because the hot glue bonds and tangles together the fibers/ little hairs on the fleece! But you can always follow the instructions with stitches instead of glue if you prefer!

I think you did an awesome job but on Pikachu's costume i dont think you should add metal material since cats to like to turn over and be playful and he can get injured with the metal ears..for support i would suggest some soft cardboard for ears..nice job though
