      @@AleexSolanoo you are actually right here. The main reason for most band members leaving is drug or alcohol abuse to where he was paying out of his own pocket for them to go through rehab, Martin keyboardist being one of the most recognizable,
      That's not to say that Dani didn't enjoy himself, for him music came first, but he did indulge, outside of alcohol he didn't overindulge and alcohol nearly destroyed his throat so he went sober for life.
      The drummer Nick Barker, loved the rock and roll life style and went through multiple bands. He is one of my most respected drummers in terms of his cymbal work, insane memory recall to do what he does. His cymbal work is even further enunciated in Dimmu Borgir. Fantastic drummer.
      As for the band members, they are replaceable as long as they don't deviate from the Cradle package. It's a commercialized enterprise that has been going strong since the 80's.
      Much love to you, sorry for the long comment.

      I think this is not only remastering but remixing as well !!! which is really rare by this time !!! Drums and especially "Snare sound" was the big problem of this record when he was released, for the journalist but also for the members of the band ... There are things that sound better in this version, but the snare is not one of them...
      The snare here sounds way too “punchy”. Too much compression - just like every metal band’s snare nowadays. Sounds like a disco snare haha.
      Then again, nowadays everything is way over compressed... dynamic range doesn’t matter anymore - only loudness!
      I’m not convinced that this version sounds better. It is definitely heavier - but not sure if heavy = better

      Saw cradle on tour in Toronto for this album way back in 1998 if I remember correctly. They had Userper and a local band called "6 Days from Sunday" open for them. Great show. Dani' s vocal range then is just as strong now live from what I've seen.
      Dani is an incredible singer and truly of raw pure talent that no singer of the same genre can compare to, except for maybe Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir... but he is awesome in a different way than that of Dani.. I met Cradle after that show. Nick was still the drummer, as was Robin and the keyboardist who dressed as a priest (sorry I forget his name at the moment, but he was eventually replaced by Martin). They were still in the band on that tour. Really nice guys. I went to the show with a buddy of mine and we took many photos..how i wish I still had them. I for sure would have digitised them. If you have a chance to see Cradle live, go see them. One of the best bands I have ever seen.

    First time listening to remaster. Curious on how it all progresses. Drums are coming through a lot more now. That was one of the things I missed from this album. Dimmu Borgir albums of the same time era also missed drums coming through back then. Which reminds me... pls let Enthrone Darkness Triumphant be remastered soon!

      Enthrone Darkness Triumphant is the standard of a good scandinavian black metal production. It doesn't need a remaster.

    Just got a flashback to being a kid listening to this album playing need for speed underground. I wanted to see what would happen if I put my speakers on 100 and blast this for a race. It was obnoxiously loud and gave me a slight heart attack when I pressed play.

    I'm loving the re-mistressed version of this album, however it's a little weird hearing so much drum bass now. lol..

    • @Frummelification
      @Frummelification Před 4 lety

      Set the bass sounds somewhat lower with EQ, then it's perfect. Funny thing is that regarding the original, I'll always set the high notes down.
