    On the X95K SDR settings I saw you had Gamma at -2 and Peak Luminance at High. I'm curious, is that based on calibration results or your personal preference? I also saw you dabble with Black Adjust to Low in HDR, and having Brightness Preferred, and Contrast at 92, and again Gamma -2. Can I kindly ask why this is? I'm interested in trying your settings!

    Hey Max, you answered my other question on tonight's live stream. But I saw another person comment on my question saying the Samsung qn900b blows the Sony X95k out of the water, purely on the 8k processor alone. What's your opinion on how much the 8k makes a difference with upscaling? Both sets are 85 inch. I am still within my return window for the X95K, and right now I can get the QN900B for the same price at the same size. Really curious how much of a difference the 8k processor makes, and also why exactly you think the Sony has a better overall picture. Oh and again, I don't do any gaming. Only use it for movies, sports, and TV. Thanks again Max. ✊️

    • @mchambliss2
      @mchambliss2  Před rokem

      Both TVs are great. The Samsung QN900B is great when it comes to depth and detail. However, when it comes to black levels the QN900B crushes blacks so the TV won't bloom. The X95K has a different approach where it gives you the shadow detail and gives you great blacks but you may occasionally see some blooming depending on the content. When it comes to OOTB picture settings Sony would be better in that area compared to QN900B where you tend to see a push of red. One example is skin tones. The X95K would also have better motion compared to the QN900B. When it comes to posterization, Sony would also be better in that area compared to QN900B. Also, you might have to go through the panel lottery with Samsung to get a clean set with minimum DSE. For my X95K, I don't have an issue and I don't notice any DSE. If you want to get a better understanding of the X95K and QN900B I would search the avsforum to get a better idea of what TV would be best for you. I hope this helps 😄

    What have found with tvs at the top and even some mid tier tvs, they trade blows scene to scene. Like in one scene the S95C might look better than the X95K, but then the X95K might look better in the next scene. And the brightness of the X95K might help it in some scenes while the contrast of the S95C might give it an edge in another scene.

  • @Mrnotnice24
    @Mrnotnice24 Před rokem +1

    Ok I have both TVs and I did my own comparison. First off the x95k 85in is very good tv but to compare it to S95C panel it doesn’t handle reflections very well. I see rainbow effects when panel is off on the x95k and some dark scenes compare to the s95C that absorbs the lighting very well. I’m looking scene by scene and honestly the TVs trade blows very well I see the little instances where the detail is a bit sharper but nothing the common eye won’t miss. Gaming the s95C wins hands down due to better colors but for creators intent the x95k 85 does a good job. One think to clear up thou the 85in version that rtings claim have crazy blooming is a joke if you see blooming you are legit looking for it and the tv is 7 feet and I can’t see the blooming like everyone else claims other than max. The 65 and 75 in I would avoid those are blooming machines lol. I’m watching my movies in Dolby vision and tbh even though the Sammy doesn’t have it I’m not missing out on much of anything. But if you want size I would recommend this tv in a heartbeat. The QN90B has inkier blacks almost Oled level like but the colors while watching tv yes I know I can adjust them I didn’t like how they look. One more thing I’m using Apple TV so I guess it’s doing the upscaling and the TVs look almost identical.

    Actually the LG G3 has been the Hot Display so Far for 2023 with its MLA however honestly I think this year is going to go to Sony..both 95C and G3 panels are already out and have been hevily Reviewed.. Sony will however wait til summer to release their A95L.. and I think this is now the Panel thats goig to to everything right.. For 4 years Sony was behind everyone including (TCl and Hisense) with Bringing out VRR & 4k 120hz etc.. I believe Sony did this cause they did want to rush something out and have it not work and depend on numerous FW update toattempt a Fix etc. This happened alot for all other manufacturers in the past 2 years...
    When you look at everything, I wonder why is it so Hard to get larger TV type Displays to run 4k 120 and VRR these features have been going strong in the PC world (of course smaller monitors) for nearly 10 years... So why cant these companies 75" plus displays that can do it as well... I think 2023 is the start and you will see LED Tv's slowly becoming a dying breed as finally High Nit (1500+) Oleds are finally a reality.

      Watch mixed up content and you'd have to be seriously unlucky to suffer from burn in, get a warranty that covers burn in and it's a total non issue.

    Awesome video, awesome tv. I just cant believe how much Samsung disrespect other markets...in Europe we have to pay 60% more than customers in USA. In europe 77 inch version cost 6950$ while in America that same tv is 4500$.

    Think it got no heatsink which means it's gonna dim down like S95B from the last year. 🤣Wish they've used LG's MLA panels though. 😐

    I predict these new OLEDs are going to crash and burn (no pun intended) by trying to push their pixels too bright. I think it will all come crashing down. I'll wait and see on these. .

      @@NexGenTek the picture it provides is less detailed than a Mini LED from a rival brand? I have seen other youtubers get several panels and there be issues with quality control? Why is it every time Samsung release another iteration of this TV, you specifically come to defend it? Do you own Samsung shares or sutm?

    Who would buy an expensive QD OLED if there was no quality difference?
    Even in gaming mode, x95k are garbage.
    Such a one-sided review is not worth it.

    • @anuzahyder7185
      @anuzahyder7185 Před rokem +2

      Yes surprised by the review. Hardly any advantage of oled panel discussed. The color volume n contrast are enuf to get the qd oled. Viewing angle not discussed. Reflection handling not discussed, x95k gets that rainbow type reflection. Also in gaming u have 4hdmi 2.1, 144hz. Lower input lag. The motion thing is very helpful in console gaming if u r playing at 30fps. Also the contrast, it’s a massive difference. Leds cant compete.
      To compare only in brightness is not fair. furthermore, in many scenes oleds wud look brighter coz it doesnt have to dim to mitigate blooming. Also need to keep in mind that x95k is a blooming machine, (the 65 n 75 inch)

      S95C!!! The 900B (and all other Samsung 2022 models) suffer from horrible Tizen OS
      Tizen 2023 is now way better and on par with all other TVs that I have just as snappy etc
      Now if you had 900C then it’s the shear brightness champ.
