  • In 2006, I had the pleasure of recording a series of interviews with Indianapolis magic legend Harry Riser. I thought that many magicians would be interested in Harry's incredible stories of his life in magic and his friendships with Dai Vernon, Charlie Miller, Ed Marlo, Slydini, Alex Elmsley, and many others. So, I've posted them here for all to enjoy.

I bumped into this because I was looking up Harry Lorayne. I watched Mr. Riser's story about Lorayne and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Now I watched the one about Penn and Teller. I only now figured out Riser was a magician. Thank you for posting these. Even if only a select few are able to appreciate them, it was worth your time recording and posting, terrific stories. Maybe you should post something about why you did this recording, what's the back story?

Harry Riser was a great card magician. He wrote excellent books on magic. He wrote columns in magic magazines. He was a close friend of Dai Vernon and Charlie Miller and he knew all the greats of his time. I guess that this is why these recordings were made.
