My wife did this to me after 20 years and six kids from 6 to 14. She refuses to move out because she thinks the children will hate her. The only person she doesn’t worry about her decision affected is me.
It takes a special kind of narcissism to try to live an openly double life. She justifies her actions by saying she’s being her true self, totally unaware of how hurtful that is to her partner of 20 years. A cheater is a cheater.

Put her out!! No matter how devastating she tries to convince you it will be on your children & that it will be YOUR FAULT bc you told them/ put her out. Absolutely not, she done this. Your children will hate you for lying & she will only do more damage in the long run bc eventually they’ll catch on & it’s 100 times better to prevent it than to try and fix it afterwards. I’ve been married 21 years & we have a 17 yr old & a 19 yr old so I get it but even if I woke up tomo & decided all of a sudden I played for the other team, my family would never know it. I would carry that cross alone. What she’s doing is extremely selfish & can have devastating consequences on her children. Im sorry but she no longer gets the say of how things are going to go, she made her choice. She can either leave & we can pretend it’s just a separation or we can just put it all out on the table & the children will hate her so if she’s smart she’d go quietly.
Not only that but she’s controlling YOUR FUTURE wether you want to admit it or not. So many women do this, they manipulate the entire situation and family in order to make sure you cannot move on & be happy. So while she’s out living her best life she’s making sure you don’t have one. I’d bet my entire bank acct she’s using the kids hating her as an excuse not to leave when in reality She knows as long as she’s there you can’t move on to better things.

Trying to live a double life is greedy and selfish. Just focused on what you want and not thinking about how your behavior affects other people - much less your SPOUSE and children. Some people are cold as ice and once their cover is blown, it's best to just wash your hands of them and move on.

That is true, however, there is added grief to deal with because as the straight spouse, you’re left with questions about the entire relationship. Did they ever love you? When did they realize, or have they always known? Was your entire life a lie?
      It’s like a death.
Some of them like getting away with it and enjoy making fools out of their straight spouses. And some have the nerve to fight the divorce and vilify the straight spouse as a homophobe. The gay spouse is living their best life while the straight spouse is picking up the pieces of a shattered life.

    • @emrk6517
      @emrk6517 Před 7 měsíci +10

@@AgentCathy And the other side of the coin is that families and society judge homosexuality and LGBTQ+ people so hard, it's easy to bury such an identity so deep, you are in complete denial about yourself. Even when you are aware of your non-straight orientation, it can feel completely impossible to live an authentic life. Also, you might realize later in life that you have the capacity to like the same sex. Not to mention the religious folk that think gay people can and should just fix themselves and so those folk literally expect you live a lie. So it can all create a horrible mess even if you are not trying to be a messy person.
I agree that the man here probably needs help, specifically because he might question his masculinity and become nuclear.

I’m not denying that cheating on her husband was a completely unethical way to deal with this situation. But we as a society need to stop putting gay people in the situation of having to choose between their sexuality on one hand, and marriage, children, and acceptance by their community on the other hand. Too many people choose the second one, and it takes decades for them to realize they can’t give up the first one.

Can we just try and understand how destroying this is from a man's perspective? I have heard another man say how broken he was to find out his wife 'went to the other team' and it made him feel like he wasn't enough of a man to keep her straight. Also, to get that far into a relationship and think you're gonna spend the rest of your life with a person and they're plotting to 'destroy you' divorce-wise just to get what they want...that's just heartless.

Or she had just been in the closet her entire life, got married to a man and had kids to make her parents happy and be “normal”, and then finally decided to, in older age caring less about what people think, finally coming out of the closet and living as their authentic self, actually having relationships with the people they are sexually and emotionally attracted to… other woman in this case. Really often has NOTHING to do with the man, and how “much of a man” they were.
EDIT: And just to make it clear, this doesn’t make it okay or right, it’s absolutely wrong to “use” a person as your public cover or “beard” I believe the term is in the lesbian community, because of your own struggles with your true sexuality. Because it’s completely taking advantage of that person and they are then blindsided by a painful lie down the line.

Societal pressure to be a good mother/father, a loving wife/husband, be a good parishioner, have a successful career, good children, and above all, be in a heteronormative nuclear family... many people don't even get a chance to ask themselves, "Is this truly what I want?"

There is nothing the boyfriend did to make her “change” her sexual preference or cheat on you. I would constantly hear from her how her ex’s didn’t treat her right and was “lazy”. Come to find out, they were indeed not at all. She just went around spreading lies to guys/girls she found attractive to get them to give her attention (a sob story). I wasn’t the only one she did this with. So please, never blame yourself. The cheater knows what they’re doing and it has nothing to do with who you are. She could have broken things with you properly and moved to another relationship but she didn’t…so let that be your closure. • @kendrascorner
      @kendrascorner Před 9 měsíci +6

@@orangesplaylist usually, when you marry someone, you have chosen to pledge your life to that person not only because you enjoy each other's company, but also because you ascribe to the same or a similar set of values.
Based on the way this person was talking, he was very hurt that she was cheating on him with a woman. Not just that she cheated. But the fact that it was with a woman was an added pain point for him.
I think the fact that he feels that way is valid, and shouldn't be dismissed as an insignificant detail.
Now there are a myriad of reasons why someone may feel hurt by this. I don't know this man's reasons, but I can tell you why I would feel hurt if I were in his shoes.
      1. I am a Christian. Part of the Christian faith includes sexual ethics, which include no sex outside of marriage (no sex with someone you are not married to, not before marriage, and not in the form of cheating on your spouse), no sex with someone of the same sex, no sex with a relative, no sex with animals, and no sex when a woman is on her period.
Now I understand that not everyone is a Christian, and not everyone holds to those values, but I wouldn't marry someone unless they held to the same sexual ethics I did! I can be friends with someone of vastly different beliefs than me, but I would never pledge my life to someone of vastly different beliefs than me.
So from my perspective, for my spouse to cheat on me with someone of the same sex, that would not only be a violation of our marriage vows, but it would also mean either that my spouse 1. Had violated one of their own core values and that their soul is in jeopardy, which is heartbreaking 2. That they had been lying to and deceiving me from the beginning, so this person that I thought I knew never really was who I thought they were.
Again, I understand not everyone is a Christian. But I think many people share values with the person they marry, and so to them find out that one of those core beliefs you may hold together is not a core belief of theirs (anymore, or maybe never was) is hurtful.
      2. The deception feels deeper. Like they weren't just hiding the fact they were cheating... They were hiding part of their identity from you. Whether recently discovered or from the beginning, this person lied about who they are. Not just lying about a thing they are doing randomly because they got tempted... They've accepted an entire identity for themselves and left you out of it completely.
      3. There's a whole new web of untangling lies, trying to figure out what was real and what wasn't throughout the entire relationship (when she went to hang out with her best friend when we were still engaged, was she a lesbian then, or was that really just a bachelorette party?). When our kids were born and she FaceTime her friend... Were they romantically involved already? That time she went to sleep over at her friend's house and I thought it was COMPLETELY NORMAL... Which leads me to my next point.
There is a level of security with same sex friends. Most husbands have no problem with their wife calling a female friend to vent and cry and go get drinks with or whatever. But they wouldn't be okay with her doing that with a guy friend. Why? Because the relationship is different, because if she is straight, then she's not going to cheat on you with her female friend... And then you find out she's a lesbian. Sense of security pulled out from under you.
      4. Self esteem. Was she ever even attracted to me at all if she is now identifying as a lesbian?
      5. Was I just being used this entire time as a cover up? And/or did she ever love me?
I'm sure there are more reasons, but these are ones that instantly come to mind for me. Maybe for some people it makes no difference, but I think for many, and for this guy for sure, it does.

Delony inmediately trying to be PC and totally ignoring the fact that it was a woman is ridiculous. Of course that is part of the grief. At least if its a man you dont feel like she was lying to you the entire relationship and was never even attracted to you and was always lying about who they were to you from the very start. Absurd to ignore this fact making the issue a harder problem, especially as he uses that fact to title the video and the thumbnail. Just very cowardly to not want to touch that part of the issue in the call while pitching the video based on the very fact he says in the call should be ignored as meaningless.

I’ll be honest, if my husband left me for another man, it would actually hurt less than if he left me for another woman. People can’t help their sexuality and a lot of people live in the closet and try to live a straight life because of social expectations. It’s shitty but it’s not uncommon.

Men view a woman leaving them for another woman as a hit against their machismo and ego though. Because society and not women here push the ideology that he should be enough. Same as society has always pushed the ideology that men can cheat or have harems and that is fine. Which is why we used to excuse that behavior. So this is a bigger issue going on. Other than that, I empathize with it guys this is 2023 my dears. Get with the times! We have a free society. You don’t have to act straight to make your culturally stagnated narcissistic parents happy at the cost of your future relationships, your spouse, and your children. You can’t act straight if you are gay. Unless of course you are bisexual but that’s another subject. But if you are gay, don’t involve an innocent party that is being used as a wig/beard because sooner or later you will hurt them.

@@cptfreeman8966I’d understand that it’s a beard/wig issue. Unless the person was bisexual to begin with. At which point I’d get it. But ultimately as I state, we don’t live in a society where we go to jail or are stoned to death for coming out do we? Yeah you may get your family with backwards and ancient views to not want to talk to you and I get it; but you can live your life without invoking the make or female. Bisexuality is different though because I think in those scenarios if you have high libidos don’t marry.

Your advice was not to try and take everything away from her for which I agree but the sisterhood of the traveling pants would tell her to screw him over for everything he’s got if it was the other way around.
My wife cheated on me after 18yrs with another man. I’m gonna tell you how to get over this.
    Step
    1. She’ll blame her actions on you. Accept what has happened and don’t try and win her back.
    2. Help her pack her bags and don’t look back.
    3. You’ll have to work through the stages of grief.
    4. Find a gym and exercise. Fill your days with activity to take your mind off of the situation
    5. Eventually you’ll get over it and the pain will go.
    6. There’s plenty of poonanny out there.

Dang, as a bisexual married woman this situation sucks! I can't imagine doing something so heartless to another person let alone the other parent of my own children, regardless of our relationship. I can imagine the scenario that drove her to it though as it nearly ruined my own marriage for a time. Thankfully my husband listened to me and together we made the changes necessary. However it was not until his infidelity had been revealed and addressed, which led to a LOT of resentment, confusion, and anger on my part. It hurts to have your needs ignored or rejected but even then cheating is never the "answer", it will just result in further devastation.
