    I would add bring spares like brake pads, you will use up a set quickly and its way cheaper to take them with you

    Morzine was my destination this summer! Such a shame it realistically not going to happen. I would recommend the guys at Morzine Star Ski if you want to hire a Mountain Bike rather than bring your own. The team there is absolutely brilliant.

    Do you have any tips for natural singletrack over there? Or better in the man made trails?

    • @MtbTrailHub
      @MtbTrailHub  Před rokem

      Thanks Brian, Glad you enjoyed it!
      Awesome, bet you're counting down the days!
      There is lots of natural single track out there off the sides of the main trails under Chavannes and Pleney however they are pretty rough around the edges and see little to no maintenance. They are still great though and some can be very technical!
      If you want the real natural single track stuff then you will want to get a guide tbh. It's way out there.
      Theres a brilliant descent off the back of Les Gets and down to Samoens.
      Ask for Steve at info@lesgetsbikeschool.com and he will sort you out.

    Hi what lift pass do you purchase? Does a lift pass cover everything? Thanks for the video 👍🏼

    • @MtbTrailHub
      @MtbTrailHub  Před 3 lety

      Hey Jon, It depends how long you are visiting for? If it's for the week then you will want the 6 day Portes Du Soleil pass which will give you unlimited access to everything.
      It's up to you but you can also get single uplifts or half day passes depending on how much riding you plan to do.
      If you're Morzine or Les Gets based then you can buy a pass at the bottom of any of the lifts.
      Enjoy!!!!

    Get extreme sports insurance so if you bin it badly your air lift, medical expenses and emergency flight are all covered. You can also insure your bike against crash damage (worth it if you have expensive bikes probably)

  • @duanebosch9508
    @duanebosch9508 Před 10 měsíci

    Nice. Some of my tips in no particular order.
    1. Buy something in the bike shops. Yes they are expensive but they only have 3 short months to make a bit of money and justify their existence
    2. If you are on a trail bike rent a big bike for the day and smash some stuff
    3. Anti inflamatories to keep the claw at bay. 1 in the morning 2 in the evening.
    4. Try to minimize commuting. Don't go all the way to Chatel, Do 2 runs and then head all the way back to Les Gets
    5. Keep your eyes peeled for a pro. I've seen Gee, Barel, Semenuk, Bearclaw, Greg etc etc.
    6. Finish the trip. Don't be a hero and destroy yourself on day 1. There's lots of guys walking around in casts while their mates are having fun. Don't be that guy.
    7. Morgins. It's an effort to get out there but it's so worth it
    8. Get away from Les Gets ASAP.
    9. Watch out for the Mutzig!!
    10. There are a lot of places that run a lunch special. 12 Euro for a burger, chips and a coke type of thing. Top tip. They get cheaper the further you go from the lifts. You can also get a sandwich & coke much cheaper at a supermarket of course. But being France some of them close for lunch!!!!

    • @MtbTrailHub
      @MtbTrailHub  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Great tips, agree with all of them apart from the Les Gets part. There's some great trails there.....more than often they are off piste though.
      Appreciate the helpful insights!

      @@MtbTrailHub Yeah I should have qualified that. It's not as if Les Gets is horrible or anything. We use it to get our eye in and then save it for the rainy days. The jump park somehow works in the rain. Love that place so so much. I even took my wife there to ride road bikes after the season just so I could squeeze in an extra trip.

    Ever been to Saalbach? How would you compare them?

    • @MtbTrailHub
      @MtbTrailHub  Před měsícem

      Yeah, Saalbach is brilliant. Very different feel to it. Less British, longer descents but less trails. Can be combined with Leogang a short drive away for an epic trip!
      I made a video of the place here …..czcams.com/video/rs1zD6vOM90/video.htmlsi=TQFyo9wT0JMNhOn5.
      Only a few hours from Schladming too which is an incredible bike park….you can find videos also on this channel. 👍

    What are the best spots to stay on an auto camper?

    • @MtbTrailHub
      @MtbTrailHub  Před 2 lety

      Try this.....
      210 Taille de mas de tant crue
      74110 Morzine
      France
      It's a small spot just outside of Morzine which campers are allowed to park in with a few electrical hook ups.
      Another option is the campsite in Les Gets which never fails.
      People used to park in Nyon carpark but i think they are not allowing it these days.
      Good luck, have fun!
