You left out a few massive points purposefully to make TPLF not look as bad as they are.
1.) 90% or more of Ethiopians love this current governement and hate TPLF and have never liked TPLF.
2.) TPLF launched a missile on civilians in Eritrea's capital city. That is why Eritrea entered the war.
3.) Ethiopia had a unilatteral ceasefire but TPLF decided to continue the war and said they will march into the capital city.
4.) TPLF also launched a missile on civilians in a populous city in Ethiopia, Bahir Dar
5.) During their 27 year rule of Ethiopia they complied 80% of Ethiopias military weapons in their region and refused to give it to Ethiopia.
6.) The UN and Amnesty acknowledge most of the atrocities commited are by the TPLF.
7.) They were accusing Ethiopia for genocide and ethnic cleansing and demanding the west for sactions (which they got) and also demanding the west to intervene with military force.
    There are many more rasons.
The reason the west want the TPLF back is because they dont care about their country as our current PM does. They are willing to betray our coun

      1. No democratic election ends with 96% of all votes towards one candidate and "90%" of the supposed population siding with one administration is just laughable, specially to westerners.
      2. If this was a war between factions of the military Vs the Gov, the current Ethiopian administration won't be under western sanction. The mass genocide and rape caused by the Ethiopian Gov invalidated its own legitimacy.
3-7 is merely a speculation derived from a government talking point.
A lot of us in the west care about Ethiopia because it was an ally against Muslim extremist in the region and at point, a beacon of hope for the region (economically and culturally). Within just two years, your country's debt has multiplied 3X. No western / Asian country / bank want to touch Ethiopian bond. Ethiopian bond trades within European markets in the same category as Sudan / Liberia, the bottom of the bottom in essence. They will soon take loans at a rate that will lock the nation in a century long poverty. The whole country is reliant on foreign aid that sized 6 month ago and you're rapidly declining to where it was pre 1990. Mass starvation and protracted ethnic civil war is your future. Ultimately, you're scraps left on a vultures plate and the Chinese will finish off that plate.

So by your own logic it’s then even LESS likely that 98% of the people in Tigray voted TPLF’s single party gov if 85% of Ethiopians voted Abiy’s bipartisan gov?
Regional Tigrayan votes were also not counted locally, ballots sent out sealed and results sent in reply. Compared to the federal voting process which finished observation after the polls, counts AND results.
In a free and observed referendum if the People of Tigray so chose to leave the federation their Ethiopian counterparts would accept a peaceful separation, no doubt.
But we don’t know that for a fact as you like to claim to speak to.
As far as your peculiar desire to see every conflict between African Peoples as fundamentally ethnically driven speaks more to your place of projection than it does to my peoples love and respect for one another.
So no we want peace, we reject the POLITICAL ideology of the TPLF because (one thing this video right amongst such a preference for half truths+willful ignorance of truth) 6% of 100% does not make a majority. I’m not sure where you’re from but in Ethiopia we respect democracy and the will of the people.
We will pay back all our loans, because your opinion of our capacity to do so economically matter when 110+M ppl wake up everyday wanting to work hard for a better life for their families.
But whatever you got out of sharing your thoughts, I hope it was worth voluntarily marking in the history books of the World Wide Web, how wrong you shall be when you chose to speak on things that you did not understand. Cheers mate!

He then completed then filled up a dam that'll supply the nation and neighboring nations with electricity, ignoring the demands of the west not to fill the dam. It’s a country where there are more than 60 ethnic groups yet she says the country is divided into 11 regions by their ethnic groups. She says it’s been a whole year since the conflict between TPLF and Ethiopians started however this Way of understanding lacks the full context of the conflict. TPLF started in 1975 so it’s been 47 years since Ethiopians started fighting this terrorist organization. “Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed is trying to centralized power” which is also 100% not true. PM Abiy decentralized power to all regions of the country and also let them have their own national guard and so on. On November 04, 2020, they attacked the Ethiopian military base in Tigray and took all its possessions, including missile rockets. Then, within a few hours, they launched those rockets to neighboring country Eretirea and the city Bahir Dar (a beautiful city in the Amhara state). TPLF is backed by Egypt, Sudan, and most western countries, mainly the United States.
Why is the United States supporting TPLF?
TPLF was in power for the last 27 years before Dr. Abiy Ahmed came into power democratically. In those 27 years, TPLF acted as a trojan horse for the u.s to destabilize and keep the horn of Africa defragmented, weak and powerless. That way, it's easier for u.s to exert whatever plan they have in east Africa and the Mediterranean sea. When Dr. Abiy came to power, that all stopped. On July 09, 2018, Abiy made a peace treaty with long-time rival neighbor Eritrea, facilitated peace negotiation between rebel groups and the government of South Sudan, made trade and transportation deals with Somalia, Kenya, and Djibouti. Basically, from the day he stepped into the office, he worked to make East Africa peaceful and strong. He recently started a movement to grant Africa a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council. This tells you much about him and why he is hated by the west.

Another biased reporting although appearing to provide a balanced presentation! There was a deliberate omission of the federal government's unilateral ceasefire in June 2021 that was meant to provide a period of 'solemn consideration' of what the ordinary Tigreans (not the TPLF) really wish to achieve. During the ceasefire, the TPLF used the time to regroup and subsequently attack the federal forces and occupy areas in the Amhara and Afar regions. Another war ensued and, eventually, 99% of the areas are now back in the hands of the federal government. No mention was made that the conflict since June '21 was happening within the Amhara and Afar regions, not in Tigray! However, Al Jazeera and other western media outlets are still trying to give the international community the impression that war and all atrocities were being committed in Tigray (and, of course, on the Tigrean population), at times going as far as to say genocide was being committed. That, of course, has been discounted by the UN's and Ethiopia's Human Rights Councils' report in October, '21. There is an effort to portray the TPLF as akin to a government body and an insistence for there to be some sort of negotiation with the federal government. In much the same way as the US government could not sit to negotiate with the ISIS or Al Kayda, the Ethiopian government could not negotiate with a terrorist and insurrectionist organisation (a group also recognised as a 3rd tier terrorist organisation by the US government!) no matter how much pressure it is put under. What Al Jazeera in this report did not want its audiences to know is that the US government has been using the TPLF as a puppet government in Ethiopia throughout its 27 years at the helm. When the Abiy administration made it clear Ethiopia was not going to have a puppet government installed and, instead, was going to look for partnerships to try and bring self sufficiency and prosperity to Ethiopia, the US administration got furious and decided to support the TPLF instead (part of the reason why it subsequently insisted on negotiation between the two parties). Since then it has been doing everything it could (threat of and actual sanction, bullying the government and demanding to cut its ties with the Chinese, using western media outlets, including Al Jazeera, to spread fake news about the situation in Ethiopia, one of the latest being 'the country becoming unsafe for westerners' and discouraging them to stay, etc.) to overthrow the government and destabilize the country. This is despite Dr Abiy being the duly elected PM of Ethiopia!
Following the Ethiopian general election in June, '21, the US and certain western governments, instead of congratulating PM Abiy Ahmed for winning the election, chose to lament his installation as Ethiopia's first democratically elected PM claiming 'only elections could not make a country democratic'.

This has been the case for the last 12 months in relation to the conflict in Ethiopia. The good thing is the relentless and consistent criticism of their conduct seem to be paying dividends as they appear to be making slight changes in their reporting. Although there was a deliberate omission of some important events that needed mentioning, the report in question is an improvement compared to their reports a month or two ago so one should keep on snipping at them, it seems. Of course, Egypt is working to disrupt the construction. EU's meeting to impose sanction on Ethiopia is said to have been orchestrated by Egypt with a view to get 'a binding agreement' signed before the third filling of the reservoir. They started the war by killing thousands of Federal troops in the Northern command (wh/c is in Tigray) in their sleep and confiscating 80 percent of the country's weapon. The Whole reason the Defense forces left Tigray is because they didn’t want to continue to fight a war of attrition which would we be even more devastating and to the land and people. When the first massacres happened by tigraian youth to amharas, the people there never retaliated and killed Tigraian living near or with them. Its sad because even though there are extremists on both sides, we as ethiopians value tolerance and existed with this notion for hundreds of years. I think that's why Abiy didn't send armies to Tigray way before that attack on the military base and really tries to ask them to join the negotiation. Alot of people need to answer for the human rights violations, but also other countries need to add sanctions on the tpfl as well - now they finally realised that massacre began with their actions and they have committed human rights violations as well. • @helinazegeye6072
    @helinazegeye6072 Před 2 lety +1

As an Ethiopian I have several questions
    1. Who/what sparked the origin of these ethnic tensions you highlight as the crucial fuel to the civil war?
    2. There are over 1,500 educational medical + facilities in Afar + Amara destroyed by the TPLF’s military campaign, where is that information?
3.Which government drew up the maps by the ethnic regional government structure?
    4. Federal government refused military action in response to the Tigray Regional election after stating the results would “not be legally binding” which requires a certain distinction between legally & illegal. When did the TPLF state federal interference would start a war, before or after the federal government’s decision?
    5. Were the 30 years of TPLF government linked to any inquiring into racketeering of national funds by part members/activities? If so are there estimate costs to potential corruption?
6.Outside of economics, since we stated this conflict is fuelled by ethnic tension, why then would Abiy’s multi ethnic national party, system be a threat to the TPLF?
7.Why is challenging a legacy of autocratic and politically oppressive rule oppression wouldn’t that be the opposite?
    8. The 4+ military bases attacked in the dark of night resulted in hundreds of dead+ tortured men and women. How would we react to that in other countries? Would we react as we have to Ethiopia for protecting civilians and soldiers?
    9. Eretria joined the war after TPLF took credit for bombing their capital city.
    10. Since violations exist on both sides ‘due to ethnic tension’ why not mention as well that the 600 murdered in Mai Kadra were Amarah?
11.What international agendas were revealed in the leaked zoom call of ambassadors with the TPLF representatives?
12.Didn’t theTPLF claim they couldn’t send back 700 food aid trucks due to no fuel but didn’t the UN respond that they sent them with enough return fuel?
    13. Don’t the majority of Ethiopians support the investigation of all guilty perpetrators regardless of ethnicity by supporting the EHRC’s independent investigations?
    14. Why would the federal government negotiate with a self proclaimed separatist group that seeks to achieve its goal by raping and pillaging their neighbouring provinces? Do we expect Ethiopia to be an exception and negotiate with groups engaging in terrorism as political expression?
    15. If 85% of the 80+M Ethiopian people democratically decided they don’t want to repeat what you called 30 years of autocratic rulers then why does any other nation, government, or media organization have the authority to ask 110+M ppl to compromise their democratic freedom of expression?
I look forwards to seeing how you develop your coverage on this topic with these questions to be answered. I imagine if there’s any genuine desire from your team to uphold ethical journalism and democracy you will improve your coverage and stand out by working harder than your media counterparts at pursuing to understand the true nature of this conflict thus earn the credibility to cover it.

To Americans and Western concerned parties,
If you want to impress me fix Yemen. So far western countries have misplaced 37 million people in the name of democracy..
According to the United Nations, Yemen faces the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. War that has ravaged the country since 2015 has killed over 50,000 people, including many civilians, and destroyed the economy and vital infrastructure. The country is now on the brink of what could be the world’s worst famine in over 100 years. More than half the population - 14 million women, men, and children - are at risk of famine.
Ethiopian Patriotism is a thing of the heart! Ethiopians are one with GOD !

Tplf was disobeying any federal laws including measure to postponed the election and conducted there own election. Eth.government responds to the illegal election by cutting budget and other supports. Soon the rebellion attack the national army, committed crims against humanity in wester parts they control.
