All I can say is what great series of videos. George is a true yet very humble craftsman. Probably one of the best series of videos that I've watched in a long time.
Agree he needs a few beers after this one…
Yamaha 80 is my guess
If I lived in Australia I would be trying to get a job there and learn whatever I could from that man. These boats are a work or art and the skills to learn are priceless!
As a construction worker, fabricator and welder for about 40 years I love to watch talented people do their thing. To say I am impressed would be an extreme understatement! Wow! George, what a craftsman!!!
From a Sheetmetal fabricator of 15 + years, George is definitely a guy with a lot of experience and knowledge. Love his not over thinking attitude but that comes with full confidence in knowing exactly what you’re doing
George is an absolute legend very skilled and old school love it
Is anyone else looking every day hopeful for a new part
Blown away by how complex this build got and how fast you guys are getting it done. True work of art.
I hope George has a measure on the hits to his website cause I reckon it’ll be going nuts over the last week. What a legend.
I have been involved with Aluminum production for 50 years so very familiar with this group of alloys. It’s great to see George work his magic building such a master piece. Really enjoying the series.
Awesome job George you do all your other boats an still manage to help Timmy that a lot of work thanks so much for having a big heart the way you do
This series couldnt have started at a better time. I went and watched the pipe dream 2.0 build series about 2 weeks ago and then these videos started coming out
I've worked in several shipyards, George's workflow would be the envy of them all. Top shelf.
Up until now I enjoyed watching timber boat builds . I’ve never considered how much goes into these big tinnies . Eager to get into a few more vids of the build.
Seriously good content. Rare these days, as a bit of a fabricobbler I totally appreciate this! Thanks guys!
Rare on CZcams! Not on your channel!!
Some artists work in oil paint, others in stone or wood. George works in aluminum or “Al-Lu-min-e-um” as you say down under. And what a beautiful job! I can’t say enough to express my thoughts. Got me thinking about building a CAT that’s been swirling around in my dreams for the last twenty years.
Credit to Timmy as well. I love your channel. Turned on the captions so I could understand what the h you are saying 😊. Greeting from Los Angeles
This was very smart of the boat builder. This will gain him some good word of mouth and probably gain you some subs. I subscribed just to follow this build.
I think its time to get a mike for George. Enjoying the hell out of this series.
i think we need to get him some welding glasses lol
@@no1interfan08 yeah I’m no pro welder but I haven’t seen a guy welding without them.
@@FatGuyinaLittleBoat welcome to fnq.
@@Greg_lark no joke, when I build the last boat in this shop, ten years from now, I will be headed there. Thanks!
Georges homemade crane eehh, I'd trust it more than anything you could buy. I'm an older bloke and I admire his stamina, and patictince, sorry Timmy but he's the star on this series mate.
top series! i start watching you at the times you build your wooden skif…👍greetings from austria 🇦🇹🙋♂️💪
What a boat. Awesome to see Hand built craftsmanship still about! Top job 👊
One of the best series of videos I have ever seen on a custom boat build, George is a brilliant craftsman and his knowledge and skills are priceless. You are fortunate to be getting such an awesome boat and learning how to weld and contribute to your own build boat Tim. It really gives the layman an idea of how many hours goes into building a quality plate alloy boat. Great work fellas ! 👍
looking good Timmy,Dennis's boat looked great finished
Watched all 4 episodes and really enjoyed it. I love my Stabicraft, but this makes me want a Samurai boat now as this is the Rolls Royce of boat manufacturing! Cheers for the videos.
I just want to throw another vote to George being a F in legend.
Level when the tool is horizontal, and “plumb” when you turn the tool vertically.
You have a great teacher Timmy!
Bloody great series, Loving the custom parts of the plate boat. Personally I'd have a natural livewell/toilet up the back :D but everything else is pretty much how I'd do it myself! I did a 10 week welding course at tafe years ago, it's 100% practice man. you'd probably have more hours under the hood than I got in those 10 weeks. Grinder and paint makes me the welder I aint.
Great video. Thanks for the drill & tap tip, already found them on ebay. Awesome series guys. Cheers PP
Can’t help but be impressed with George’s work, you can’t buy experience.
Like a farmere in his field "just outstanding!" Nice work guys.
Timmy I love getting inspired and learning from my you tube and this is being my all time favourite series ,thanks mate unreal show ,can’t wait to see her on the water but no rush keep building
Awesome insight into a legend boat builder/fabricator. You're one lucky so and so. George is a legend. What a boat, can't wait to see it completed.
Love this series of videos. Can't wait to see it finished. George is an absolute legend !!!
What a build. Loving the detail George is sharing. For a motor, I’m thinking a Merc 200
This build has really tested my patience.😯 So nice! Can’t wait to see the lines when it’s cruising across the water. No doubt a labor of love.
Outstanding batch of video posts you guys have made. Beautiful workmanship and skills on display here for sure. I am envious of your welding skills. Looking forward to seeing the completed project!
My mate dared me to have a cone each time tim mentioned the word gunnel. Im pretty high as we speak
Can't wait to see the boat completed.
NRLgrandfinal, so a year since this happened
Yeah, I was thinking that too mate. I reckon it's finished by now and we are just gonna keep getting videos of the build every few days....which is awesome
Mate I just want to say it’s good to see you back on your original channel, that Matt and Brooksy told you to abandon, doing your thing, and just being yourself.
Judging by the views on the last few vids, you should be back up and running in no time.
Keep it real, bro✌️
Enjoying the build. I've retired from the fabrication engineering game but to see bare feet, shorts and no welding helmet takes me back to the 70s when we could all get away with anything almost, then along came the safety brigade that is now wringing the life out of freedom.
She's coming along great. That's gonna be one nice boat. Loving the build vids.
Catchcan- like overflow on radiator n when cools down, sux back in. Genius
First time I've seen a drill and tap in 1.. I'm ordering a set!!! Thanks George!!!
Love the boat build series can’t wait for more 👍
Just finished watching all 4 parts and this project is epic! George has gold in his fingers and his work is spot on. You are very lucky timmy to be going down this path and your hard work has paid off mate. Cant wait to see that engine go on and the wrap! Betting on a 250 or 300hp such as a SHO Vmax 4 stroke yammie....! You deserve someone to come on board with an outboard!!! Epic mate 🤙🤙
Great series. Love getting the inside goss on settings.
I want to move from California and go work for George free of charge!
Just so I can learn from the master. 🙌🏼
Eager awaiting the finish. Great set of vids! 👍👍
This is some epic content mate well done hope mill is going good too
Looks good as man keen to C ya on the water in the new boat caching some big fish
Good to see you back Timmy.
Bugger , sat and watched all the vids up to the pres , bloody brill work
What an amazing build series
So many good ideas going into this build
This is a great build series! I love the long format. You might consider following George through another build in the future, maybe on something he's got going in the background there.
Lovin' the build vids keep them coming.
Omg such a legend, clutching up with the goods as soon as I jump on u tube. Big up George, love to ya Tim
looking good! Suzuki 140
The secret welder finally made an appearance!!! Haha!!! 🤣🤣🤣
👏 👏 👏 👏 TT gonna be on a big and skinny H2O can't wait till he does this beautiful functional art piece justce.
I would love to find somewhere on the Goldie I could go do some free fabrication work to learn on weekends, teaching myself too tig weld atm, can’t wait to watch this episode later
George is a master great work and vidio this is the best way to get a boat the way you wont
Seriously… never buying any boat that George didn’t build. He said he was the best in the first episode. He wasn’t kidding.
Dude, seriously loving these vids mate.
Great boat, good blokes.
Already hanging for part 5! Ice box needs a drain though, sick build!
I think he said he was going to run a drain line through the cable tray in a previous post.
Safety Squint master class.
I’m not sure how I got here with George and Timmy, but I’m guessing from watching wooden boat channels (Sampson Boat Co). But I’m a big fan of George now that I’ve watched him for a few hours.
Those fillet welds outstanding.
Keep them coming Timmy
Gah post 5 and the rest of em! Loving the series mate.
I’m going with a 175 Mercury ProX
Great stuff mate
Thank God you're back
Thanks to both you and George, love to see the passion and appreciation for the many years experience George has on the welding, beautiful stuff. Would be interested to know supplier of wax, sanding pads etc?
George is a master of his craft
Guessing a 250 Suzuki, killer series mate. Hanging out for the next one 👌
SO good guys amazing skills ! Punching darts and welding ally, life don't get much better !
A couple of years ago they came out with a pneumatic tool which takes carbide inserts as you use in milling and lathe work that works just about like your Makita router. Advantage is you get three carbide edges on each insert (takes two inserts in the cutter) so you rotate each insert three times before you need a new one. One pass and you have a dressed corner. I bought mine for a bevel edge dressing but they may be able to take a round over cutter for a bull nose, not sure about that. Good for aluminum and steel. Seems like the machine was $70 USD or therabouts with a set of cutters included. One handed cutting and very controllable.
Top notch craftsmanship better than most big named alloy plate boats all built with his hands, basic tools, quality looks better than my 420 renegade and 5700 yellowfin. Built in North Queensland aye TOO DEADLY.
Weld some spray deflectors on Timmy turtle you've come so far bit of scrap aluminium on outside of gunnell from front of nose to widest point on angle works a treat 👍🏼
Beautiful boat and outstanding craftsmanship. One thing, a pet peeve of mine, a vertical line is "plumb", and horizontal line is "level", but you already know this and yeah, I know I'm a picky asswipe for bringing it up.
George is an artist.
I like it !!
Lovin the series. Hoping at the end of the series you do a video of what you love / what you want to change
Also how long ago did you start the project
Great video
Had a chuckel to myself when tank leaked on plug weld onto baffel as i have made lots of tanks over my 35 years in the game ally stainless and mild steel and plug welds are by far the most comon place they leak .
Great content
GEORGE, buen trabajo
The ice box looks like a throne (toilet). If you go down DrewM's path and have a tinder date on the boat youre going to have to set some ground rules lol
300 merc!! 😎🍻
IT WOULD BE GOOD TO SEE A DF350 THE ULTIMATE OUTBOARD MOTOR . THEY SAY A 2 HANDED GRIP IS BETTER THAN ONE. LOL GOOD TO SEE YOUR BACK. MAKE SURE YA DO DO A BRAWLER BAIT SESSION ON THE REEF .. LOVE THE BOAT VERY NICE.
Merc 300r xs or Honda 300. Only two motors I’d install on this beauty!
Hell yea bro you bottom hull looks like shredders helmet bra
250hp Yamaha 4 on the back.
Oooohhh yeah baby...
This is so awesome! How are you guys not getting flash burn? Especially George?
My guess for your motor is a mercury 200 pro xs v8. Cheers 🍻
1 things for sure! YOUR WELDS ARNT GONNA LEAK!! 🤣🤣🤣 No you've done great for an amateur 1st time welder!! Those machines make it look bloody easy tho don't they!!! Cant wait to see her in the water 😜👍
You might already thought of it however you might want to think about a drain for the icebox, once the ice melts the box will be full of water, I didn't see a drain plug in there.
That backrest mite make a secure camera mount to at the back of the boat, just throwing out there.
This series is absolutely fantastic. I bet you put a watersnake 40lb on it 😂
My guess was a Johnson it would be the only thing as reliable as George's work.
There is an Australian company that sells a foam that can be attached to the outside of the hull to work as bumpers and buoyancy to prevent sinking depending on the weight of the engines.
