I haven’t seen this anywhere in the comments so I’m just gonna go ahead and point this out: this is a totally different Jim Carrey than the one we had 25 years ago and it’s evident in everything he’s saying. This is a man of tragedy, awoken by the truths of existence, the state of this world and his place in it yet for the sole purpose of our enjoyment, he’s able to dawn the mask of comedy to soothe the writhing pain within all of us. I loved watching Jim Carrey growing up but I’m very intrigued by this version of him and I appreciate the evidential depth behind his every statement in this interview.
Well said, I also have observed and appreciated his evolution. he's embodied so many archetypes both in and out of character, and yet still maintains a semblance of sanity while walking the tightrope that winds so tightly around hollyweird.
You should see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He's so brutally honest in that with his portrayal of a sad, lonely, and depressed man. His chemistry with Kate Winslet is insane too.
