This video was interesting. To the note as to “why Tori knew all the lyrics and choreography” when she filled in for Trina. In the first episode titled “Pilot” Trina interrupts Toris science project and tells Tori she has to help figure out Trinas routine. Afterward as they transition to the showcase Tori posts a status update that reads: “5 DAYS helping Trina and Andre rehearse. Trina’s driving me INSANE!” This is why she knew the routine perfectly.
ok but the one woman show (Chicago) was directed, written and played by herself and it succeed to entertain people. that's true talent. also it's easily one of the most memorable scenes from the entire show
Maybe she is a self aware character that realises people in the school are over the top and kinda cringe u cant lie. so maybe she tries to compensate to fit that lifestyle but her cringe is too over the top, and she cant stop that bc then her character wouldnt be real or important and life is imaginary and you are just an illusion.
To be honest I kind of feel bad for Andre because, He did write most of the songs and even " Make it shine" and he doesn't get as much credit as Tori does. For his songs. I think you should do a video about Andre
andre was the token black character. more talented than most of them, used by tori and not valued for creating and not just performing at a high level. there was an episode where tori makes him skip his 97 year old grandpas birthday to write her a song so she can get back at a boy... he hardly complained and it was never mentioned again. also never really getting a character arc or exposition that put him in an interesting relationship.
Imagine being the Older sibling who gets into a prestigious school, and then your younger sibling overtakes your performance and gets into that school automatically, becoming the most popular girl in the school while everyone else ignores you. I'd try to get attention too.
And your own sister whom you love and support while she has everything you ever wanted, Lets everyone be really mentally abusive towards you... Man I just wanna hug Trina
Don't forget that maybe if she's so materialistic it's because the pnly form of attention she ever got from her parents is expensive gifts and not hugs or sentimental things

Trina isn’t willing to accept constructive criticism. Remember Robbie tried to review her play, and even when he tried to do it as nice as possible - she attacked him.
Honestly, if u watch "How Trina got in" again, Trina after Sikowitz compliments her seems kinda shy. The Trina we see throughout the series would've probably just acted as if it was obvious that her performance was great, but she doesn't. As a matter of a fact, she seems kinda taken-aback by it, n her response seems very humble. To me, this implies that her current attitude is (most likely) a product of her environment n the ridicule she receives from her peers, n not only that, but her initial shock at the compliment makes it seem like she never rlly received this praise from her family.
Also, remember the first episode where everyone has to do the Bird Scene, you know, the monologue who's entire point is to teach the students that they have to believe in their own acting? Now imagine the shy, timid, girl from "How Trina got in" having to do that scene. I could very easily be THE instigating event that causes the change in Trina's behaviour, either as lesson taken too far or as a validation of an unhealthy coping mechanism. Tbh, I would hope the young Trina would have been TOO shy and quiet to ask if the scene was okay, because the alternative feels very damaging to say the least.
The play she wrote was also a musical. Which means that every song was written and composed by her. If her song "Chicago" was performed by Jade or Cat it would've been indistinguishable from broadway.
I know they treat her like she's crazy but I kind of feel bad for her. Maybe she acts narcissistic to overcompensate which is really sad, not even her family supports her
I think that Trina is good a singing, like the ep where tori cannot find a ride? At the end, Trina sings really well. But sense her family favorites tori she gets no attention. So she pretends to be bad .

Idk if it's a sign of the times or if it's because the majority of us rewatching and analyzing the show now were kids or teenagers when the show first aired, but there needed to be a better vetting process in the writing room. As the show got closer to the cancelation, the writing definitely changed for the worse and some of the plot points were just straight up disturbing at least in my opinion.

It’s interesting in the way that you do not understand or pickup a lot of things as a kid and the characters that you hated as a kid, you either understand or completely empathize with as an adult. Really is a reflection on yourself growing up, even if it it is through a nick show.
I kind of find Tori to be really annoying. She is this "good" super talented girl who every body loves without her actually deserving it. I mean she kisses a taken guy out of revenge, when she isn't loved by others she acts like a child and she is generally mentally abusive towards her sister who supports her with her dream.

She literally saved her from being kicked out of school, performed for her birthday and more. Trina stole tori's cuddle me cathy doll and forced tori to make her the lead of the play to get it back. Also she manipulated Tori into being her servant for a month because of a list Tori wrote when she was 6. She even blew her nose into tori's underwear omg. Both of them had extremely annoying qualities about them but people only focus on Tori's.

10:09 The impulsive/impatient argument is actually kind of invalid. In the episode, Tori says something along the lines of how Trina has been wanting the shoes since forever. When Trina comes home with the shoes, she mentions that she got them on sale. If Trina was impulsive, she would’ve gotten the shoes closer to when she first saw them instead of waiting until the shoes were at a lower price.
So imagine you attend an amazing school where everyone constantly bullies you and reminds you that you are the least talented person there. You aspire to show them all during the Showcase. However, you get sick and can’t perform. Your little sister takes the spot, everyone loves her and she is automatically accepted into school. She is instantly more popular, yet you feel no spite or jealousy and support her and her group of friends. For your birthweek, the one week that’s all about you, your sister invites HER friends to watch HER sing a song someone else wrote to show of how much of a superior singer she is. You try to turn it into a business venture but when it backfires you come around and let your sister improve her career by taking the spotlight in the studio. And you’re called the worst character. Trina got Tori that career boost and is the only character that actually is ambitious and works hard. While the other characters are doing karaoke in sushi bars, Trina writes, acts and produces a musical BY HERSELF. She is the only character that’s kind to Sinjin (Tori, André and Beck find him weird, Jade bullies him and Cat golddigs him). When offered the role of assistant (2d place) in his show, does she scuff and say it’s beneath her? No! She makes the most of it and recognises that you need to start at the bottom of the industry, while aspiring to be on top. The same is true for that commercial in Mexico (with the cheese and the mice). It’s ridiculous but she does it anyway to be able to call herself a professional actress. She is also the only one who invests in headshots to get roles. Her hard work is in direct contrast to Tori, who after years in theater classes doesn’t even know what an understudy is. Trina does. She has been an understudy for Tori since birth. Trina is the best character.
I’ve never thought about it. I was 10 when this show came out, ofc at the thought she was untalented, self-conceited, annoying, and shallow. But, as I got older (fairly recently when i started watching the show on Netflix), I was like man, I feel bad for Trina. She is pretty funny, very confident, and she’s actually pretty too. She could get better results within her life if she’d stick to martial arts and comedy, and I never realized how bad she is actually treated by her family. She is definitely the Meg of the show.

I think Trina acts the way she does is because she wants someone to talk to, since no one likes her at home, and when she starts talking to someone, she has so much that she wants to say and ends up annoying them without realizing it. And even after she annoys them one day, she wants to try again at talking to them and it becomes a cycle where she becomes the person everyone wants to avoid.

mel Some were mentioned in the video, but Trina did drop everything to try to get the solvent to get the grizzly glue off of tori’s face. She does try to get tori out of prison. Yes sikowitz goes with her, but while they were escorted out, sikowitz says he wants a sandwich, and Trina is shocked that that is what he cares about and not tori. It’s a small thing but it shows she genuinely cares. And the talk she had with tori in Helen back again, it was very self centered and arrogant but here’s the thing: if you look past the arrogance, it’s actually really sweet what she’s saying. Yea she is a jerk sometimes but that’s a normal sibling thing. Tori is just a jerk to Trina.

Melissa Anaya there is no hate for Trina in her family. The only “hate” we get is when she’s actually being annoying and a pest. Other than that, we see Tori go above and beyond for Trina.

if she is good at martial arts then she is good at her coordination and probably awesome at dancing, plus her acting isnt bad and even robbie found it amazingly realistic when she kissed him. she probably just wants to be good at things she isnt and hasnt been encouraged to focus on the stuff she is good at.

Ashley PINKNEY their parents are the type of people that either thought that having a baby would be fun and cool or both of the girls were accidents. They both show no sign of having a problem with leaving their kids alone for a week and dumping all of the responsibilities on them as well. Especially when it comes to having to take care of Trina Tori is expected to make sure that she is doing well. It’s really sad but it makes sense that the girls are the way that they are.

I remember a *LONG* time ago that I read fanfiction and it was about how she attempted suicide because nobody liked or cared for her and it was sad. I feel bad for her character. Tbh though I feel like a lot of how Trina was writing was bad writing anyway. She's written to be unlikable by both the other characters and the audience. The scene you show where Tori is considering and acting Upon drowning Trina in the bathtub is meant to be comical when it really isn't. I used to hate Trina when I was little. But, when you really and truly look at it, she might act like this because, her parents don’t pay attention to her, her sister makes fun of her along with her sister’s friends/everyone else at school (even the people that she considers friends.,) and as she was reading that letter from that guy. Also whenever she’s around, Jade openly always tells her “No one likes you!” to let her and make sure that she knows. Also, in the episode where Tori and her friends are going to Yerba, Trina and Tori’s parents force tori to take Trina with Tori and her friends. They don’t even want Trina to come back. So, maybe Trina acts like this to cope with all of the bullying and bull crap that people put her through. But, that’s just my opinion.

Homez18 people don’t hate her because she’s the main character or because theres no reason. They don’t like that other characters had more interesting storylines and personalities. Tori was a clean cut person who was good at everything and didn’t have a personal character arc or need to improve while everyone else did have ways to improve. They didn’t always end up improving but they had the potential to. Tori wasn’t a bad character she just wasn’t as complex as the others.
about the spoons on the locker - they all look like theyre placed facing out, and when you look at the inside bit of a spoon, your reflection is upside down. maybe its her subtle attempt of showing everyone how she feels, how she knows that her reflection isnt like everyone elses, no matter what spoon she looks into, and how if other people were to look at the spoons the same way she did, theyd be upside down too.
I always loved Trina. She was the underdog of the series and I thought she would have made a more interesting protagonist than Tori. I used to write a lot of fanfiction about Trina, trying to give her a better story. I felt bad that her parents didn’t seem to like her, and she didn’t have any friends. I thought that she and Cat were kind of friends and she had that weird thing going on with Sinjin. I thought she’d find her calling as a comedian because of her one-woman show, but that’s not the direction her story went.
What I don't like about the show is that they don't give Trina points for creativity and hard work. One woman show where she acts and sings? That takes hard work
She most definitely would have made a more interesting protagonist. A show about a girl bad at singing and dancing slowly getting better by each episode sound more interesting than a show about a girl doing random things with her friends
trina is one of the best ppl in the series and im not gonna lie ive always been the same way as her which made me like her way more. i mean in the april fools ep she sang so good! i always felt bad for her since she was treated so bad! if i was one of the main characters i would totally be her friend. and the sad thing is that her parents dont like her. and even though trina treats tori bad somedays you can tell she lowkey is amazing! and she has a reason to act the way she is! shes amazing to me!
I feel like Trina was the most relatable character in Victorious. Like I really relate to her as a person, she seems to just be misunderstood. Tori came to HW, like u said, a lot better than than Trina singing, dancing AND acting. Tori was ACCEPTED into HW due to Trina’s tongue issue. Trina just wants to be understood and be what her sister is. All the bullying from Tori’s friends don’t help and causes her to be thirstier for attention. Notice how she jumps into their plans even though she wasn’t invited. When she complains about attending, everyone reminds her how she isn’t wanted. As a younger girl when I was depressed, I remember I covered it up with what Trina acts like. Ex: If my cousin opened the camera app on her phone I'd put my chin on her shoulder and wink at myself and say "Beauty." I was ashamed of how sad I was so I'd feel the need to make people think I'm confident every second of the day. (I'm no longer depressed.)

And similarly to Trina, it was because I received little to no attention growing up and if I did receive any attention, it was just my parents boosting my ego because they didn’t want to upset me (although it would have hurt my feelings, I definitely needed some constructive criticism).

Despite everything, Trina is a young girl. Having practically no friends, no social life, getting no attention from parents, and being constantly told you're bad at what you love or that no one likes you will have at least long-lasting damage to your mental health. I never thought about it that way until I came across this video, but now I feel really bad for Trina.
I really like Trina as character, but not so much as a person. I also don’t think her relationship with Tori is bad tbh To me it seems to be a very realistic portray of what growing up with siblings is like: sometimes they’re helping each other and sometimes they’re killing each other.

Here are my thoughts: As an older sibling myself, I sometimes feel jealous of my younger sister. She always had an easier time making friends then me, and even though I'm not as crazy as Trina, I do get why she always feels like she needs to be better then Tori. Also, siblings, especially two girls close in age, fight all the time about stupid things. The whole video about being off pitch and filming it is a very relatable argument. You can be having a normal conversation then start fighting. Great video and analysis, these are just some things I wanted to add

I’m the fourth out of five children(two older boys, one older sister, and one younger sister). My older sister and I have a 13 year age gap and she reluctantly took care of me when my grandmother had to be paid to do so during the day. We aren’t even full blood. She used to call me a beat too, but I knew she loved me, but showed it in a different way. As an older sibling, my sister has ADHD, and so I have to suck it up when I am neglected. i’ve actually always felt bad for trina. even when i was younger. i read some of these comments and she could’ve been at her lowest point. like, tbh it *seems* like her parents favorite tori. i’m not even gonna lie. that episode when they had to re-audition and their mother got a call and tori right away assumed trina got cut. (even when it was a mistake). and with her birthweek (agreeing with comments) she probably doesn’t feel that much loved. and remember on the last episode of victorious when sinjin was like “you guys *always* get the leads in plays..” WHICH IS TRUE! tori is always the lead, she always gets an opportunity to make a play, honestly is so annoying. like the bullying part, tori just sits there acting like she a bad bitch but really, trina *is the reason tori got into hollywood arts.*

Thank you for noting that Trina's Gi in "Helen Back Again" and the fact while the show labels it as Karate, she's actually in uniform designated for Vovinam. Adding to that, in "Andre's Horrible Girl", she stealthily takes out a waitress from behind to don her uniform and get close to a music producer. The show clearly demonstrated that the students practice stunts and fight scenes (eg: Jade and Tori), Trina's character could've had a better path and overall development. Instead, they just dropped it after that episode and never brought it up again (until "How Trina Got In" which was a what-if scenario). Combining that with her dance skills (depending on the episode), it's clear she has coordination, some agility, and combat expertise. Compared to the other characters, Trina is the most physically talented. I will say after I'm sad after watching her Slap videos for the first time - there's no laugh track to minimize the potent silence as she reads the negative comments she gets on social media, or her detailing the story of getting ditched on a date.
The fact that Trina was able to easily take down that waitress without making any noise makes me think that Trina would make a great marine or army ranger.
When you think about it. Trina has a really sad life. Her parents don't care about her, she has no friends, she only got into Hollywood Arts is because a teacher got high on coconut juice. It's truly sad.
About Trina’s birthday: toris present was sweet but didn’t align with Trina’s love language basically. Like, yes it was great but she didn’t show Trina love the way she receives/understands it. Yes you should defend her.

That's an excellent point about the birthweek song. I think it's quite likely that Trina feels lasting resentment over the gift, which would have been exacerbated by her failure to perform the song for the music exec, and being forced to call Tori in to perform it instead. I hope some fan-fiction authors see this video and incorporate this into their work.
Not to mention, the entire song is kind of negging her. "You might be crazy but it's fine cause I love you" is not a compliment, you just called your sister crazy. Furthermore, it's also largely about Tori herself, rather than about Trina. I can totally understand her not seeing the song as a gift.

I used to hate her but recently I just noticed that she was probably neglected by parents that didn’t want kids and then everyone always loved her sister and hated her. I still don’t like her, but I can’t hate her after noticing these things.
I've always found Trina and Tori's relationship interesting. I feel like, because Tori wants to "fit in" and because Trina doesn't (and supposedly never has) Tori felt the need to distance herself from her as to not suffer the same fate. Although the show is in no way perfect, it shows a pretty realistic sibling relationship where deep down you care about and would do anything for each other but in the day to day you poke fun and fight because you know as your family they'll (most likely) never stray. I would also like to add that because they have distant/neglectful parents and what seems to be barely any other family, Tori might also think it's better to group with others (her friends at Hollywood Arts) than just Trina because then even if one of the group distances themselves or leaves she won't be all alone but in doing this she is causing her sister immense pain. All in all, Trina deserves better.

I always loved Trina 😭😭😭 I've noticed these behaviors among the people nobody liked in my classes (high school + college). Sometimes they were jerks, but it was clearly due to how cruelly everyone else treated them. Being kind to everyone will honestly give you some of the closest friends you will ever make. It's amazing how grateful some people for receiving basic human decency.
I think trina was seriously misunderstood, if you think back to the re-auditions...in the sicoitz flashback trina is perfect bullying material. Shes geeky and obviously a little introverted and extremely nervous. Sicoitz tells her she was amazing and she latched on to it, she held on to that belief despite everything and smilled her way through so much negative criticism....girls got some serious self assurance and ridiculously strong will
The only time I didn't like her was when her wisdom teeth got taken out. It made no sense to me why should didn't want antibiotics, salt water or anything to numb the pain. Tbh I think people should have just let her catch an infection though

In the first episode titled “Pilot” Trina interrupts Toris science project and tells Tori she has to help figure out Trinas routine. Afterward as they transition to the showcase Tori posts a status update that reads: “5 DAYS helping Trina and Andre rehearse. Trina’s driving me INSANE!” This is why she knew the routine perfectly.

andre was the token black character. more talented than most of them, used by tori and not valued for creating and not just performing at a high level. there was an episode where tori makes him skip his 97 year old grandpas birthday to write her a song so she can get back at a boy... he hardly complained and it was never mentioned again. also never really getting a character arc or exposition that put him in an interesting relationship.
Andre was always my favorite character in the show. I'm actually surprised his actor never broke out as a solo star.

Honestly, if u watch "How Trina got in" again, Trina after Sikowitz compliments her seems kinda shy. The Trina we see throughout the series would've probably just acted as if it was obvious that her performance was great, but she doesn't. As a matter of a fact, she seems kinda taken-aback by it, n her response seems very humble. To me, this implies that her current attitude is (most likely) a product of her environment n the ridicule she receives from her peers, n not only that, but her initial shock at the compliment makes it seem like she never rlly received this praise from her family.

Also, remember the first episode where everyone has to do the Bird Scene, you know, the monologue who's entire point is to teach the students that they have to believe in their own acting? Now imagine the shy, timid, girl from "How Trina got in" having to do that scene. I could very easily be THE instigating event that causes the change in Trina's behaviour, either as lesson taken too far or as a validation of an unhealthy coping mechanism. Tbh, I would hope the young Trina would have been TOO shy and quiet to ask if the scene was okay, because the alternative feels very damaging to say the least.

Idk if it's a sign of the times or if it's because the majority of us rewatching and analyzing the show now were kids or teenagers when the show first aired, but there needed to be a better vetting process in the writing room. As the show got closer to the cancelation, the writing definitely changed for the worse and some of the plot points were just straight up disturbing at least in my opinion.

Also she manipulated Tori into being her servant for a month because of a list Tori wrote when she was 6. She even blew her nose into tori's underwear omg. The impulsive/impatient argument is actually kind of invalid. In the episode, Tori says something along the lines of how Trina has been wanting the shoes since forever. When Trina comes home with the shoes, she mentions that she got them on sale. If Trina was impulsive, she would’ve gotten the shoes closer to when she first saw them instead of waiting until the shoes were at a lower price.

She is instantly more popular, yet you feel no spite or jealousy and support her and her group of friends. For your birthweek, the one week that’s all about you, your sister invites HER friends to watch HER sing a song someone else wrote to show of how much of a superior singer she is. You try to turn it into a business venture but when it backfires you come around and let your sister improve her career by taking the spotlight in the studio. And you’re called the worst character.
Trina got Tori that career boost and is the only character that actually is ambitious and works hard. While the other characters are doing karaoke in sushi bars, Trina writes, acts and produces a musical BY HERSELF. She is the only character that’s kind to Sinjin (Tori, André and Beck find him weird, Jade bullies him and Cat golddigs him). When offered the role of assistant (2d place) in his show, does she scuff and say it’s beneath her? No! She makes the most of it and recognises that you need to start at the bottom of the industry, while aspiring to be on top. The same is true for that commercial in Mexico (with the cheese and the mice). It’s ridiculous but she does it anyway to be able to call herself a professional actress. She is also the only one who invests in headshots to get roles.
Her hard work is in direct contrast to Tori, who after years in theater classes doesn’t even know what an understudy is. Trina does. She has been an understudy for Tori since birth.
Trina is the best character.

I’ve never thought about it. I was 10 when this show came out, ofc at the thought she was untalented, self-conceited, annoying, and shallow. But, as I got older (fairly recently when i started watching the show on Netflix), I was like man, I feel bad for Trina. She is pretty funny, very confident, and she’s actually pretty too. She could get better results within her life if she’d stick to martial arts and comedy, and I never realized how bad she is actually treated by her family. She is definitely the Meg of the show.
I wish she got better support in the show- not at the start but slowly and she then builds up as a much much more better person

I think Trina acts the way she does is because she wants someone to talk to, since no one likes her at home, and when she starts talking to someone, she has so much that she wants to say and ends up annoying them without realizing it. And even after she annoys them one day, she wants to try again at talking to them and it becomes a cycle where she becomes the person everyone wants to avoid.

And the talk she had with tori in Helen back again, it was very self centered and arrogant but here’s the thing: if you look past the arrogance, it’s actually really sweet what she’s saying. Yea she is a jerk sometimes but that’s a normal sibling thing. Tori is just a jerk to Trina.

I used to hate Trina when I was little. But, when you really and truly look at it, she might act like this because, her parents don’t pay attention to her, her sister makes fun of her along with her sister’s friends/everyone else at school (even the people that she considers friends.,) and as she was reading that letter from that guy. Also whenever she’s around, Jade openly always tells her “No one likes you!” to let her and make sure that she knows. Also, in the episode where Tori and her friends are going to Yerba, Trina and Tori’s parents force tori to take Trina with Tori and her friends. They don’t even want Trina to come back. So, maybe Trina acts like this to cope with all of the bullying and bull crap that people put her through. But, that’s just my opinion.

They didn’t always end up improving but they had the potential to. Tori wasn’t a bad character she just wasn’t as complex as the others.

I always loved Trina. She was the underdog of the series and I thought she would have made a more interesting protagonist than Tori. I used to write a lot of fanfiction about Trina, trying to give her a better story. I felt bad that her parents didn’t seem to like her, and she didn’t have any friends. I thought that she and Cat were kind of friends and she had that weird thing going on with Sinjin. I thought she’d find her calling as a comedian because of her one-woman show, but that’s not the direction her story went.
What I don't like about the show is that they don't give Trina points for creativity and hard work. One woman show where she acts and sings? That takes hard work
She most definitely would have made a more interesting protagonist. A show about a girl bad at singing and dancing slowly getting better by each episode sound more interesting than a show about a girl doing random things with her friends

As a younger girl when I was depressed, I remember I covered it up with what Trina acts like. Ex: If my cousin opened the camera app on her phone I'd put my chin on her shoulder and wink at myself and say "Beauty." are you guys seriously getting mad over a show that ended 7 years ago? they both have their flaws and their good parts, some more than the other.
Here are my thoughts:
As an older sibling myself, I sometimes feel jealous of my younger sister. She always had an easier time making friends then me, and even though I'm not as crazy as Trina, I do get why she always feels like she needs to be better then Tori. Also, siblings, especially two girls close in age, fight all the time about stupid things. The whole video about being off pitch and filming it is a very relatable argument. You can be having a normal conversation then start fighting.

My older sister and I have a 13 year age gap and she reluctantly took care of me when my grandmother had to be paid to do so during the day. We aren’t even full blood. She used to call me a beat too, but I knew she loved me, but showed it in a different way. As an older sibling, my sister has ADHD, and so I have to suck it up when I am neglected. I strived for perfection so my mom would notice and praise me. However, when I would break the ice for her, she would excel in my activities. Thank you for noting that Trina's Gi in "Helen Back Again" and the fact while the show labels it as Karate, she's actually in uniform designated for Vovinam. Adding to that, in "Andre's Horrible Girl", she stealthily takes out a waitress from behind to don her uniform and get close to a music producer. The show clearly demonstrated that the students practice stunts and fight scenes (eg: Jade and Tori), Trina's character could've had a better path and overall development. Instead, they just dropped it after that episode and never brought it up again (until "How Trina Got In" which was a what-if scenario). Combining that with her dance skills (depending on the episode), it's clear she has coordination, some agility, and combat expertise. Compared to the other characters, Trina is the most physically talented.
I will say after I'm sad after watching her Slap videos for the first time - there's no laugh track to minimize the potent silence as she reads the negative comments she gets on social media, or her detailing the story of getting ditched on a date.
The fact that Trina was able to easily take down that waitress without making any noise makes me think that Trina would make a great marine or army ranger.
don't forget that in the April Fools episode, she actually sings really well.

That's an excellent point about the birthweek song. I think it's quite likely that Trina feels lasting resentment over the gift, which would have been exacerbated by her failure to perform the song for the music exec, and being forced to call Tori in to perform it instead. I hope some fan-fiction authors see this video and incorporate this into their work.
Not to mention, the entire song is kind of negging her. "You might be crazy but it's fine cause I love you" is not a compliment, you just called your sister crazy. Furthermore, it's also largely about Tori herself, rather than about Trina. I can totally understand her not seeing the song as a gift.

I used to hate her but recently I just noticed that she was probably neglected by parents that didn’t want kids and then everyone always loved her sister and hated her. I still don’t like her, but I can’t hate her after noticing these things.
I've always found Trina and Tori's relationship interesting. I feel like, because Tori wants to "fit in" and because Trina doesn't (and supposedly never has) Tori felt the need to distance herself from her as to not suffer the same fate. Although the show is in no way perfect, it shows a pretty realistic sibling relationship where deep down you care about and would do anything for each other but in the day to day you poke fun and fight because you know as your family they'll (most likely) never stray. I would also like to add that because they have distant/neglectful parents and what seems to be barely any other family, Tori might also think it's better to group with others (her friends at Hollywood Arts) than just Trina because then even if one of the group distances themselves or leaves she won't be all alone but in doing this she is causing her sister immense pain.
All in all, Trina deserves better.

I've noticed these behaviors among the people nobody liked in my classes (high school + college). Sometimes they were jerks, but it was clearly due to how cruelly everyone else treated them. Being kind to everyone will honestly give you some of the closest friends you will ever make. It's amazing how grateful some people for receiving basic human decency.

Shes geeky and obviously a little introverted and extremely nervous. Sicoitz tells her she was amazing and she latched on to it, she held on to that belief despite everything and smilled her way through so much negative criticism....girls got some serious self assurance and ridiculously strong will
