I spent a lot of my teen years not caring about the way I look. Creased clothes, unstyled hair, dirty nails. But as I’ve gotten a little older (granted, I’m only 23 and have a long way to go) and going into a more professional light, I’ve realized that the image you put out (clothes, hair, nails, smell, etc) is what can make or break you. You can be courteous and intelligent as hell in an interview, but if you dress like a slob you’re less likely to get that job. I probably won’t apply all of your suggestions to all aspects of my life, but my professionalism is a good way to start. So I’m kinda glad your video was randomly recommended 😅

Can I just say that I love the fact that you actually give advice and opinions. So many CZcamsrs these days are so afraid of offending people that they always say very neutral things and always emphasize how to do whatever you want. If I wanted to do whatever I wanted I wouldn’t be watching the video:) Thanks Freddy
Sahana K, I totally agree with you. I also think information isn't received as well from certain ethnic backgrounds. I believe I would get chewed to pieces for saying exactly what Freddy has said in this video. I've always considered myself tasteful and classy. For instance, I received hate for simply giving tips on keeping a genuine Coach bag clean. I decided to leave the video up, because there are people like you who will appreciate the tips. Some took it as bragging because it is a designer bag. Yet, CZcams is inundated with people boasting about purchasing fake designer bags. Actually I despise them, because they support sex trafficking, illegal drugs use and other heinous acts. Yet, I was chewed up in the comment section for it. Where am I going with this? I'm one of those that are neutral about offering tips on looking polished, classy and style tips. I agree it doesn't help those whom truly appreciate the tips. Sometimes a viewer is unaware until they watch a video such as this one. Your comment has changed my thoughts on how I will create content on style tips. I'm aware I'll offend others, but if I can inspire or help someone that's what matters.
People do get so offended so easily these days. I wrote a comment the other day to try and wear jewellery that matches (and like Freddy said, is natural) so that you can put well put together and therefore more professional. This was on a reddit video on "how to look richer" someone took such offence to my suggestion and was saying that billionaires dress slobby in their grey t shirt and that people can do what they want. Obviously you don't have to take advice off of a stranger on the internet but don't get so offended when you click on a video of tips on how to look professional when one of the comments suggests the same. It's so ridiculous.
@@ItsMyLifeDaralynn you're right fake designer bag industry, similar to clothes from sites such as Wish and AliExpress are so unethical and encourage slave labour. However I have seen Instagram pages where people make their own fake designer bags and therefore aside from copyright there isn't really any ethical issues. I've even considered buying one once because I loved the design of the brand but the real one was leather whereas one of the fakes was not. What are your thoughts on fake designer items like those?
You remind me so much of my auntie (don't worry it's a compliment) her first husband was a millionaire from London, she's now married to my very down to earth nerdy uncle but she still has the style and personality of a high class Londoner
Finally I found someone I relate to 💕 I always take care of my physical appearance (without* it even being expensive and designer wear) people would always call me boujee and always thought I came from a wealthy background by the way I look..which is quite comical since I came from a single parent household who is an immigrant. Outer appearance is more than vanity/status but it is also the way you feel and you feel/do your most best when you take care of yourself!
Not true. (Maybe besides the designer handbags lol) There are ways to "copy cat" the classy look even with thrift store clothes. There are watches that look like hers for $20.00.
I agree but I think she is def aware of what she has decided to splurge on and gave some good tips on alternatives and mentioned that she waits to get the more expensive pieces. So it's a bit more about priorities - I assume she prioritizes expensive/high quality items that she wears more often.
* watches video * *“Wow! This style is so cute and girly. I need to try it out!”* * happily opens up the wardrobe * * remembers that I only own black clothing * * silently sits back down with a smile * * flips table *
Hey at least you follow the rule "keep a color scheme going" I literally can't make myself wear limited amount of colors id probably get depressed withous splashes of orange and yellow here and there.
Hollie Nicole black was a very classy color back in the 1800s , so you’re just fine , i wear mostly black and get a lot of compliments saying I look very elegant
Black looks elegant and goes with everything! You can still make your style look very girly. I’ve seen another girl on social media I personally look up to who has an all black wardrobe and still has a similar style to Freddy where she looks like a classy and luxurious Barbie doll. It’s about how you carry yourself- maintaining your hair, and adding nice accessories! Accessories like a good quality bag and fine jewelry, maybe some scarves/twillies and a nice pair of sunglasses
I actually disagreed with a lot of what you said, especially if any of these points are meant to be be all end all, but I like that you are so valiant in your opinions and happy with your personal achievements style-wise.
Okay, rant time, because I seriously cannot believe some of these comments. Don’t read my response if you’re easily hurt. Get a snack. Freddy got a LOT of rude and negative feedback for being simply blunt and honest in this video, sadly. It’s clear she didn’t have bad intentions at all, but is being criticised for putting out content which was REQUESTED... I prefer when youtubers get to the point and speak their minds - Freddy just said what she meant and several people are going off - how it’s not affordable, “not everyone can afford to be put together and polished!” As if ‘beauty on a budget’ is an alien concept. I’ll just jump in: Some of my nicest outfits were from the Debenhams sale rack. Top tip; m&s has some really classically stunning (sometimes a bit old fashioned) and reasonably affordable jumpers, skirts, trousers and knitwear - on top of having frequent sales. My skincare “routine” and entire makeup look contains products which are effective and average around £7 per pot/tube/bottle. Hot TAKES on this comment section: No, you shouldn’t have to break the bank. Yes, you should buy shoe polish. Trust me! No, you shouldn’t really buy an expensive piece if it doesn’t fit your budget. Yes, you should learn how to fix a hem and modernise old items of clothing. No, you shouldn’t absolutely go raving MAD when someone tries to give you advice on how to present yourself 🤭 I’m no expert, but from my personal experience of being a teenage girl with two working class parents, only one of which is employed full time - being frugal doesn’t mean that you can’t be clean and neat. I do my best and I find that expensive does not always equal BETTER - look at some of H&M’s mid range to pricey stuff. Most of it is poorly made. Ask your grandmothers, girls. Being frugally NEAT is never going to drain your bank account - neither will a nice skirt once in a while, if you’re smart about where and WHEN you shop. Neither will taking that extra 20 minutes of self care time in the morning, if you can. Freddy is absolutely CORRECT when she mentioned tailoring, and somehow a considerable amount of commenters think she’s being “extra”. I’ve known for a while, that simple items like a blazer can be taken to be tailored in cities near mine for less than £15. I’ve also seen beautiful, tailorable items (I recommend ‘Next’) sold in their frequent sales for similar prices. Not every “nice outfit” has to be £100+. There’s no reason why you can’t be classy on a budget. It frustrates me and strikes me as patronising that so many comments on this video seem to think that girls like me just aren’t capable of being neat, clean, classy and presentable. Maybe it can be your excuse, but don’t tar us all with the same brush. You don’t speak for every girl like us when you say that self care and putting in an effort is too expensive, guys 👍🏻 Sometimes, all it takes is a £10 blouse on a sale rack to step up your look. Other times, you have to shop around, compare, and enjoy the experience of being fiscally responsible and well dressed at the same time.
This is your best video to date. The title cards with the quotes, the music, the close up clips of your jewelry, the clips of you walking outside, ... This video is just so well thought out and beautifully edited. Well done Freddy! Also, HI NELLIE!
I'm the same, I could never stick to just one look. I flip between Freddy's style, cottagecore, and the extra Bratz style frequently, and as long as you focus on having a wardrobe of pieces you consistently wear it works pretty well. I mainly shop second hand and focus on buying pieces that are hard to get right (like pants for my pear shaped figure) new, so it also doesn't break the bank as much.
My wardrobe consists of one 3 basic colors (blue, gray and white) with red accessory accents (belt, shoes). No one has noticed, and I get dressed SO MUCH QUICKER because everything matches. My wardrobe is a lot smaller than it used to be, but I take care of what I do have. I save money (I don't shop just to shop, I shop only to replace things that are damaged) I am less tempted to buy something faddish just because someone else is wearing the style, and I save a ton of time because everything in my closet matches everything else
@@samiam9925 yes it is an amazing idea actually. But as an emotional shopper I find it hard. Sometimes you see a piece that you like that just comes in one color and every season is different colors... It takes control lol.
Freddy your advice is great and it is lovely to be able to look polished but for most people it simply isnt possible all of the time. Please bear in mind there are lots of beautiful (young and mature) ladies who work hard and cant go to work with their hair and nails done all the time. Our lives are made infinitely safer, better and easier by the hard, somes dirty, work that others do. Being 'classy' is not just about how you look. It would be good to remember those hard working ladies and offer advice on how they can look in their own time rather than suggesting that to not have your hair and nails done all the time is "unclassy" or in any way inappropriate.
These are strong, rare and very wise words. Everyone should read this comment and cherish it. You're definitely a woman that has a lot of life experience and clarity of mind, thank you for saying this in these days.
Lmao wut I bust my ass on the daily. I still take the time to make myself look presentable. I get up at 3 am. I look fly all the damn time. Anddd on a budget as well. It shows you respect yourself and others, it shows you care. Yeah it’s more effort, so what. Y’all be waking up with your ratty ass greasy hair and dragging your un polished self to work. Honestly when it comes down to it it’s just a matter of laziness. Always step out with your best foot forward ladies, plus when you look good, you feel fucking amazing. So yeah, great way to start your day and I recommend y’all try it.
@@heatherschwarz8608 Some women work outside or in dirty environments, Heather. You wouldn't work on a car or haul trash with manicured nails or done up hair. p: Besides, there is something in between "hauling your greasy ass to work" and making sure your hair, nails, etc is perfect.
Also, natural makeup looks beautiful if you have light hair, but with darker hair you need a little bit more if you don't want to look like a zombie haha. A strong, statement lip can look gorgeous. I think confidence is the most important, so dress to impress yourself ❤️
This. Neutral lipstick shades make me look ill. The best shade of lipstick for my colouring is bright fuchsia. I also wear different shades of eyeshadow because my eyes change colour depending on what I wear.
I disagree on the hair color limiting ones ability to sport natural makeup. Turn to celebrities for examples. There are well known named dark haired celebrities who go with an everyday natural makeup look.Turn to television shows and look at women with dark hair. Generally speaking, how is their makeup styled? Snatural is the direction the mainstream media turns to in regards to makeup, regardless of hair color. I agree that a bold lip can look gorgeous on anyone with any hair color and that confidence matters.
Actually no, it depends on face shape sometimes, what you are comfortable in, and what type of makeup your good at. I have dark brown hair and I don’t wear dark makeup, dark makeup on me makes me look like a zombie.
These videos, "How to... Look classy in jeans, build a classy wardrobe, look super polished...." are my absolute favorite videos from her! It's Freddy in her natural rose-colored environment inspiring people to look their best and I always find at least one tiny bit of inspiration to curl my hair more often or try out some new clothing pieces. Becoming a professional fashion guide or upstyler for a TV show could become her second profession. 🥂
Very informative and helpful! As I age into an adulthood I’m going to transition my style from street style to classy and chic and your videos really help me Freddy! They’ve taught me that to be taken seriously and respected, you must respect yourself by looking after your appearance. You’ve also helped me shop smarter and discover my true style. I’m sick of dressing in baggy tops and sweatpants, it’s time to change!
I love these types of videos because I love how you show how being stylish doesn’t have to be super expensive or difficult. It’s videos like this that has helped me define my style and clean out things I don’t want in my wardrobe! Thanks Freddy! 👛🌸💅🏾
I used to not care at all about my style or looks and i hated myself at that time , now i started wearing my natual curly hair and learning how to take care of it , do my nails they are short to fit my life style yet they look good and polished , do my eyebrows regularly, i don’t go to salon to do anything of that i just learned it by myself to save money , started to clean my body and scrub it and wear my favorite perfumes ( vanilla and roses or sweet smells ) still building my wardrobe i love black and black leather , blood red yet i also love feminine fashion and i try to combine them in my look to create my own style , i wear a little makeup just a blush and colored lip balm and i go all out sometimes , started a skin care routine that suits my oily skin , took care of my environment my room is always clean and tidy and it smells very nice , my belongings are always in beautiful containers like a makeup bag , feminine hygiene smal bag , my charger and headphones also in a small bag and they didn’t cost much and made my life easier and now i cannot tell you how this simple things change my feelings to myself , i feel always ready and confident to go any where or to do anything , not feeling bad or like i want to hide away always knowing where exactly my stuff when i need them
I’d love to see you do a stylish thrift shopping video- I’ve never been thrift shopping because I was always nervous of buying items that have been used but now I think a lot of thrift shops are very fashionable where you can find really beautiful pieces and it’s very sustainable! I’m going for the first time this weekend in NYC!
xswtmiseryx07 oh okay that’s what I thought! My original post said mostly used but then someone commented that the point of thrift stores are to be used lol so I changed it. Can you tell if haven’t shopped at a thrift store yet? LOL
Freddy I just wanted to say I've been watching your channel for a long time now and every time I appreciate how much work you clearly put into each and every video xx
Tbh the bag and shoe advice rlly works. You can easily get them secondhand online and they do elevate your entire look. Cheap clothes, but pricey bag is one of the smartest things ever
I just saw a comment saying 'you have a responsibility so young girls don't feel a certain way' < the problem is there are so many women like that and it's pushing everyone to be PC. Unfortunately it is suffocating everything, and it's difficult to get good advice anywhere. Everyone wants to be liked by everyone, well that's not how it works, also it is difficult for young western women to find traditional/classy/feminine videos.
I think that your fashion is very beautiful, however, I believe that going for a vintage or colourful outfit looks beautiful, I adore the colour pink but I think that sometimes going outside the box like a green leather jacket with an appropriate top can look amazing 💖😆❤️❤️
When I was younger I always loved to look completely put together and polished! Sadly, over the past few years I feel like I’ve drifted further away from that for a lot of different reasons. Thank you for this video!! It has definitely inspired me to aim to look more put together recently
I wish you could upload two videos a week 🙏🙏😍 your videos are really my highlight of the week. I always have to watch the new video immediately but then I have to wait a week again and again. But the wait is worth it. You are such an inspiration, your style, character just everything. You're a wonderful person and I love your videos, channel and photos on Instagram 💗💗🌸
Just how much planning and hard work went into this! Wonderful video, with care for every detail. Thank you for making CZcams a better place Freddy. You really do set the bar high.
Oh wow you look amazing!!💗 this is such good timing I have been meaning to change my style recently to more girly and flowy because I LOVE ITTT💗 You were actually one of the youtubers who inspired me to start my channel and I love it so much so thank you💛

I'm one of those people who buy clothes in materials that don't need to be ironed lol but mainly because I run late in the morning and don't have time for ironing haha
Ayesha Irfan Friendly suggestion, how about ironing your clothes for the week sometime during the weekend or the evening before the next work day. Hope that helps!😊✅
not sure where you're from, but I've heard than in some countries (like the US) H&M is a more expensive brand - but in the UK where the girl in the video is from (and where I'm from) it's definitely a cheap brand - not quite as cheap as somewhere like Primark, but still inexpensive
im super late, but you could try shopping at yesstyle. it sometimes takes a while for the clothes to ship depending on where you're from, but they do a lot of clothes like this for really cheap.
Super great tips! The only thing I don't agree with is the manicure. In most countries red nails are seen as glamorous, while french manicure is seen as tacky. This said, the most important thing is to do what YOU love! Confidence is always classy.
Your videos always cheer me up so thank you, since I really needed it today as I just broke up with my boyfriend~ Also, this may sound like a dumb video request but do you get all your clothes dry-cleaned? Could you show us your washing/drying routine? Or what you use on stains (if they ever happen to you haha)?
I have watched this video 10 times already and just thought how much you inspired me to change and improve my own style! Thank you so much Freddy! You are my inspiration and I am so happy that your style sense is now implemented in my own! Love from Germany xx
She’s so adorable she’s obviously passionate about her appearance and is helping others too it’s sweet. Usually when I ask my friends how they did their hair or something they say it’s a secret lol
I completely love your style! Thank you for encouraging us to become more creative and care for our clothes. Also, if you are a college student, i worked really hard on a video stating 8 things every college student MUST DO during summer. Hope you have an amazing summer. Blessings!
Wearing a light touch of makeup definitely makes you look more polished which was the point of the video, but do whatever makes YOU happy, ignore me if you want! 😁💕
I never wear make up (like foundation, concealer, ...) because I'm really happy with my skin. But I do wear a little mascara, a neutral lipstick or lipgloss and a little blush and I definitely feel more put together when I do wear that little bit of make up. I don't do it every day, but I get what Freddy is saying!
Omg Freddy this video is life 😭 Thank you for being you and being so fabulous! You have really influenced me to become a better version of myself and helped me to find my style! Also thank you for listening to your fans as I have been so wanting to see what jewellery etc you wear! Thank you so much!! ❤❤❤
could you please do a video where you make uniforms look put together and girly? like natural makeup, easy hairstyles, the actual uniforms haha 💗 love you!!
Hi Freddy. I Love this video. I heard a quote from Edith Head. "Your dresses should be tight enough to show you're a woman and loose enough to show you're a lady. " You and Josie have inspired me to dress classy and feminine. I feel so much better about myself. Thank you so much for the gift that you are.
As a little kid, I was always the tomboy I guess, growing up and now being a teenager and other girls around me always have the pretty hair, nails, makeup, clothes and other girly things, I always wanted that but mum wouldn’t let me dye my hair, get acrylic nails and I do personally think that if I pay for it, I should be able to get it. This rule my mum always had got me so annoyed I went out with my friend and got a belly button piecing, I even lied to my friend and told her my mum said I was allowed to. But I now realised I don’t even want a belly piercing, so I took it out.
New subscriber here! I love how honest you are with your opinions. Most CZcamsrs these das try not to offend people and you just speak your truth. Keep it up!
I’m such a girly person and I love the thought of being classy but since I’m only 15 and am too young to get a job I can’t buy certain things I need like for my hair or my clothes which sucks but one day I’ll be the classy girl I’ve always dreamed of being
This is my first time watching one of your videos and I love everything about it your very eloquent and explain things very well. It makes me really sad that you occasionally apologize about offending people like your literally the sweetest I don’t get how anyone could be offended

Sometimes a viewer is unaware until they watch a video such as this one. Your comment has changed my thoughts on how I will create content on style tips. I'm aware I'll offend others, but if I can inspire or help someone that's what matters.
THIS. So true!

“Some would call it high maintenance, I call it self respect” Couldn’t agree more👏🏼
Finally I found someone I relate to 💕
I always take care of my physical appearance (without* it even being expensive and designer wear) people would always call me boujee and always thought I came from a wealthy background by the way I look..which is quite comical since I came from a single parent household who is an immigrant. Outer appearance is more than vanity/status but it is also the way you feel and you feel/do your most best when you take care of yourself!
Step number 1 : be rich
Lol I came back from holiday last week and boy guess who has a new high score

Black looks elegant and goes with everything! You can still make your style look very girly. I’ve seen another girl on social media I personally look up to who has an all black wardrobe and still has a similar style to Freddy where she looks like a classy and luxurious Barbie doll.
I’ll just jump in:
Some of my nicest outfits were from the Debenhams sale rack.
Hot TAKES on this comment section:
No, you shouldn’t have to break the bank.
Yes, you should buy shoe polish. Trust me!
No, you shouldn’t really buy an expensive piece if it doesn’t fit your budget.
Yes, you should learn how to fix a hem and modernise old items of clothing.
No, you shouldn’t absolutely go raving MAD when someone tries to give you advice on how to present yourself 🤭
I’m no expert, but from my personal experience of being a teenage girl with two working class parents, only one of which is employed full time - being frugal doesn’t mean that you can’t be clean and neat.
You don’t speak for every girl like us when you say that self care and putting in an effort is too expensive, guys 👍🏻
Sometimes, all it takes is a £10 blouse on a sale rack to step up your look. Other times, you have to shop around, compare, and enjoy the experience of being fiscally responsible and well dressed at the same time.
I would consider this polished and preppy. But not that classic Hollywood style that I strive for. Still an adorable style.
This is your best video to date. The title cards with the quotes, the music, the close up clips of your jewelry, the clips of you walking outside, ... This video is just so well thought out and beautifully edited. Well done Freddy! Also, HI NELLIE!
UGH IM TORN. I love this style and aesthetic and I like looking classy but I also love looking extra and bold
Do both 😎
I'm the same, I could never stick to just one look.
You never get tempted by other colors??
I often think the same thing. I love all colours of clothes, I could never limit myself like that!!

You wouldn't work on a car or haul trash with manicured nails or done up hair. p:

I agree xd
Actually no, it depends on face shape sometimes, what you are comfortable in, and what type of makeup your good at. I have dark brown hair and I don’t wear dark makeup, dark makeup on me makes me look like a zombie.
I don't believe my make up is that heavy usually, I just get my winged eyeliner and lipstick, lately also mascara. Every face is different.
I think most importantly is how you carry yourself! Being classy is also a state of mind 💕 hope this makes sense!

I just saw a comment saying 'you have a responsibility so young girls don't feel a certain way' < the problem is there are so many women like that and it's pushing everyone to be PC. Unfortunately it is suffocating everything, and it's difficult to get good advice anywhere. Everyone wants to be liked by everyone, well that's not how it works, also it is difficult for young western women to find traditional/classy/feminine videos.

not sure where you're from, but I've heard than in some countries (like the US) H&M is a more expensive brand - but in the UK where the girl in the video is from (and where I'm from) it's definitely a cheap brand - not quite as cheap as somewhere like Primark, but still inexpensive
I'm from Mexico. H&M is not cheap but it's pretty affordable. 🤔

Super great tips! The only thing I don't agree with is the manicure. In most countries red nails are seen as glamorous, while french manicure is seen as tacky. This said, the most important thing is to do what YOU love! Confidence is always classy.
