I just got my motorcycle license at 39 and purchased my first bike two months ago. I got the 22 triumph Bonneville Speedmaster and I absolutely love it. It has the floorboards with heel toe shifter,the full windshield the back rest and nice bags on it and cannot wait to put a lot of smiles on it
There are several things that can really test a relationship with the opposite sex. Teaching someone how to ride a motorcycle and launching a boat at the ramp are two such things that come to mind. I’ve seen you do both with grace and patience.
I'm pretty confident that divorces have happened due to launching boats and putting them back on the trailers.

After watching like 5 of your videos I bought a $1200 Yamaha V Star 650. I haven't ridden a bike in 30 years but that's not stopping me from going on a 300 mile round trip this weekend.
Hey brother you and Dr girl friend should take a low speed practice from Robert Simmons be the boss of your motorcycle in Georgia. Simple practice session with him would help her with rest control of a heavy bike immensely.

Congratulations on the license! My first bike was a Triumph too, a '62 speed twin 500, rolling basket case. 34 years and many scoots later I'm still rolling on two wheels with no plans to quit. Keep your head on a swivel and keep the shiny side up!

This is cool how you take time to teach someone to ride I'm 45 never been on a motorcycle in my life what would be a good one to start on I'm 5'11" 270
I started at 55 on a Yamaha virago 535. Super light and enough power to cruise most roads. After I got my license I moved up to a Kawasaki Vulcan 900. Still not a big bike but sometimes I miss the 535 because it was just so nimble
Great bike for the Doc. Just hope the saddle has been upgraded when she decides on some long hauls. The stocky on my 04 was a total disaster.

Crash bar saved heavy damage when I laid down my Fatbob. Stupid guy pulled a left hand turn in front of me and I slide into the side of his car.
I'm so grateful that my bike came with crash bars, as I dropped the damn thing on my first attempt to ride on the street. Saved me some very expensive repairs right out of the gate.
Some bikes they even look good on.

Owned one for 30 min. Not a bad bike at all but steers funny! Can't describe it, something odd about the geometry. But i sold it to my brother for $3500. He still has it, still rides it, still likes it!

The bigger issue is riding on grass, that stuff's not ideal for cruisers. Big kudos for the Triumph though, and there's no need to be antisocial and make it painfully loud either. It's a beautiful bike as is.

You are the man Shadetree. Super cool you take your time to get new riders comfortable. Way to go Dr. Girlfriend!
Loved my America. Changed the risers to Speedmaster risers and Harley superglide bars on it, made better handling straight up. Put the short slash cut pipes on it as well. Cheapest way to get extra power was a K&N filter, bellmouth opening to replace snorkel in the airbox opening and internal baffle removed from airbox. Retained airbox to keep torque. Dyno before and after showed a heap more horsepower for almost no money. Not beast but with stock power so long it added a crispness to its acceleration.
I love seeing beautiful girls that don't want to sell themselves. There is nothing more attractive❤.
I own a 2012 SpeedMaster, the transmission is differents on the two. I've installed British Custom
Exhaust, air intake, retuned. It redlines at eighty-five thousand. It's fun to ride.
It should scatter into a million pieces at 85,000 rpm’s. 🤣🤣🤣 but we know what you meant to say.👍

DYNA BROS ROCK !!!
Having owned all three major groups of Harleys sportster softail and a dyna. Their all great and all have there draw backs sportster are nimble and will do pretty much anything you ask. (But you're friends will tease you with stupid comments buy a real bike or girls bike you know). Softail is very stable at high speeds but doesn't really lean without dragging and a very minimal rear suspension. Dyna are cushy rides fairly comfortable but if you're trying to burry the needle they feel very unstable at higher speeds

I didn’t know you could put a 1200 cc big board kit in that pretty nice. I wonder what that would do after that. Wonder how much work it would take. My cousin cheaper than buying the new 1200 off the rack.

i lost a business a lil while back, made me and my daughters homeless. we only had my 05 wide glide for transportation. we loved that bike. anyways, i got a chance to get out of AZ and keep my kids. see we had a godsend of a chance to move to Ohio. but i couldn't take my bike. ... well long story short for the longest time there was a homeless guy who sat outside the 711 by me .He went by johnny, he always asked people for a buck... i would bs with him and give em beers an occasional smoke ... sandwich whatever. u see i got to know him. well, when i went to leave AZ , i filled that tank up i went over to Ol Johnny and i said hey man... i effed up and lost everything... im moving my kids to Ohio, and i can't take the bike .... Johny had a daughter in San Bernadino California, i flipped him the keys and told him heres your chance man ... go see that daughter of yours. i watched him ride off torwards the 303 on a harley he had 3 tall boys , some old clothes a bunch of loose change 118 dollars a pack of marlboro reds , and the biggest damn smile you ever saw. ... i wonder if he made it ?

The dyna speedo don't work because the speed sensor is bad mine would eat one every 5 to 6 thousand miles.
I love the America/Speedmaster platform and owned a 2005 Speedmaster for 7 years. At the time, I was considering this or a 1200 Sportster and didn't regret my choice. Looking for a second bike within the next few months and a later Speedmaster is on the list. In the UK they are around £3400-£6000, for a low mileage model.
Agree, learn on a Grom or other small bike vs trying to learn on larger bikes.
