Brought back memories.
My mum used to make that cake too, it was my job to grate the lemon zest, except she used olive oil in the mix.
I remember the olive oil taste in the background was lovely. I've made the cake a few times but because I have an obsessive sweet tooth, the cake barely has time to cool before it's all gone. Now I've seen you make it, I have to make it again and remember my mum.
She had so many recipes, many you've had on the show, still many more I hope to see you make one day.

Yum! I make a version of this cake all the time. My topping is to add the juice of the lemon with a tablespoon of sugar and brush it on the top of the cake when it comes out of the oven.

Just made this cake. Simple, and delicious. I even managed to leave out the baking powder by mistake and only noticed once I'd poured the batter into the tin...poured it back into the bowl and whisked it in before pouring back and placing in the oven. Testament to the fact that you probably can't go wrong! Another great recipe! Thanks.

I made this cake today and it is very good. I used a lemon/cream flavored Greek yogurt instead of plain yogurt. So easy to make and so delicious. Thanks for the recipe Albert.
