      Pharmacies are also chasing profits now more than ever. Chronic medication is stupidly expensive, even to those who are on medical aid schemes or insurance. For acute conditions, yeah you may get away with just visiting a GP or just consulting your local pharmacy, all depending on how severe the acute condition is. The healthcare system is slowly but surely being dilapidated.

Your choices are, stay in South Africa, where there will be NO healthcare, or go to a first world country where the cost of living is expensive but at least you don't die if you get a cold as there's a tax base big enough to fund the healthcare freeloaders.
      How's that such a hard choice to comprehend.
      We don't have the tax base. South Africa will have ZERO healthcare if this passes. The poor are going to die in droves.

      Repair government hospitals and pay doctors,nurses well. Who will fund private hospitals materially and financially. All new developments failed with the ANC, do you in your deepest dreams think this is gonna work or is this just setting SA for a communist country.     The taxpayers are already overburdened with taxes I don't think any taxpayers can pay more taxes. The NHI will need alot of money to be successful and the money will have to come from the taxpayers.

    In other words, the SA government can't afford to sustain the financial demands of the NHI bill, so there's a strong possibility that the people will have to pay more in taxes. Then why don't the government tell us what our 15% VAT going towards anyway? Why do we have to pay more?

      Vat will go up to 21% and Income tax will be 30% so basicly the taxpayers will pay up to 45% Tax/vat
