- I just upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and wanted to test the quality of the HDR footage with Dolby Vision and Prores. The quality of the camera is very good for a phone!, I filmed this during my last visit to Mexico, Enjoy!

What is HDR?:
If you watch this video on an HDR compatible device like an Oled TV, or a mobile phone like the iPhone, you will be able to see a High Dynamic Range version of the video. HDR basically means better contrast, greater brightness levels and a wider color palette. The idea is that your eyes can perceive brighter whites and darker shadows - greater dynamism - than traditional TVs have been able to display.

That’s actually really good color and light!😃 How would you rank the post processing of the iPhone footage vs. your main Pro camera?
How did you get it to work? I have the same problem. I have a 40min HDR video that took 18hrs to upload in 4K (previously this only takes about 2hrs) for SDR. However YT still doesn’t recognize it as HDR content.
@@erwinvelasco the first time I uploaded a ProRes HDR .MOV file and it was never procesed as HDR by youtube. For this one I added the HDR metadata using the "CZcams HDR Metadata Tool", this tool creates a MKV file with HDR metadata. This 1 minute video took around 24 hours to process by youtube 😅, for longer videos like 40min it can take almost a week to see the HDR enabled.
@@BaluRelaxingNature oh wow! Thanks for letting me know. I did a test upload of a 5sec video and it took 2hrs+ for it to become a HDR.

Stunning images! bravo! Question... The 14pro can shoot at the same time Dolby HDR Proress? or is it either or... ? How about the "cinematic mode" is it also Dolby HDR. but not ProRess...? I'd love to know if these codecs work together ... thanks! cheers!
Hi!, you can shoot Dolby HDR in Prores format, but Prores is not available with the Cinematic mode.

Hi!, cinematic mode: you can record in HDR but to a regular video file, not Prores. Video mode: you can record HDR in Prores or HDR to a regular file.

HDR videos are good for capturing something like documentary. But i prefere it turned off because i use my camera for personal vlogs

In Colour balance of iphone 14 pro max very best in every light situation..ok and about s22 ultra, xiaomi these devices more saturated colors in camera not original natural colours provide.. iphone is best and 14pro max recoding HDR Dolby vision video very sharp colorful and iphone photo and quality is very heavy in texture mean powerful processing capture.s23 ultra 200mp but didn't beat iphone 200mp is little bit clear photos but not much better in every situation condition

I just found out that HDR actually do more bad than good. Better turn it off on your iPhones
