That looked really good. I'm not big on KFC but that chicken looked like it was just right. The crunch from the pie was mental. I've never heard anything bad about Jollibee, has to be on my list if I find one
Philippines is a big exporter of pineapple, banana and mango, so most of the product here came from that fruit are real...also added the fact that calamansi juice is also getting known these days.
Steve : Yes, Jollibee really needs to open more branches in most areas, here in the US, in Florida specifically, so people won't have the need to go to farther places, just to grab some Jollibee food products!..... 🐝 🍝 🍔 🍟 🍨 🥧 🥤
We tried! Unfortunately the two locations that were the closest to us only had Banana. It’s still on our list to try because we have heard nothing but amazing things about it. 😊. Thanks so much for watching!
I tried it a year or two ago and I was flat out surprised how well the breading stuck to the chicken for every bite instead of falling apart. The fries were legit the most McD's-style fries I've ever had in my life, tasted like McD's fries right out of the fryer, was a mind blower!
Fact: Jollibee was not open for Food Fusion unlike McDonald's. So Jollibee's menu are all authentic Filipino taste. Btw I really like your intro music. So refreshing.
Awww thank you! We're always playing around with different music in our vids, but I think our intro song has stuck. Glad you like it! Thank you for the Jollibee fact as well :)
For Filipinos, that is practically an all-in-one gravy. good for a number of jollibee menu items. The pie is a take on the popular streetfood called Turon. Turon is like a spring roll with the inside made up of sweet plantain banana variety and jackfruit. the outside is coated with caramelized sugar. Langka is pronounced with a short "a" with accent on the last syllable. Lang is pronounced like Lung and Ka like Kah.
We’ve wanted to try Jollibee for awhile now…happy to have finally gotten the chance. It was really good! Hope you guys are doing well and thanks so much for watching!
I don’t know why, but I thought Jollibee was a southern US thing. I had no idea they were in Canada. We definitely don’t have them here in Indiana, so I’ve never tried them but, oh my, I really need to find a Jollibee now! ! 😋 Fried chicken, spaghetti, and banana pies?!? And a pineapple drink to boot?!? Yes, please! Fried chicken is one of my favorite foods, pineapple is my favorite fruit, and I love a good crispy, fried pie! That all looks amazing! 😋
Jolibee is delicious, I can't believe it took us so long to try it. There are only a handful of locations around us right now, but hear that more are on the way. Thanks so much for watching!
There are several in the Chicago area, mostly on the north side. If you visit the Northwest part of Indiana you can run over to Seafood City, which is a major Filipino supermarket just north of downtown Chicago. They have a large food court with many different Filipino foods, and a jollibee's right next to it.
It's just now that I knew Jollibee made a pie version of TURON! the banana and langka combo is usually made in the Philippines as turon which is basically sliced banana (+langka) rolled in a thin layer of spring roll wrapper, deep fried w/ sugar (like caramelized thingy). I'm a Filipino but I never tried that BLP yet, idk if it's available here in PH 🥺
I've only tried Jollibee once. Of course I had to try the mains of the fried chicken and the spaghetti. Was pleasantly surprised that the hype for the chicken was deserved. That said I'm not much for sweet sauced spaghetti but I already had an idea of what I was getting into. It wasn't bad - glad I tried but probably won't get it again. I hope to make it up by there again here soon to try more of the menu. - - - - Oh snap I'm pretty sure I just discovered a The Trips dark secret. Eric doesn't actually need to wear glasses. They're to keep Kelz from stabbing his eyes out.
the filipino sweet spaghetti would be an acquired taste, the more time you have it, it eventually could become one of the food cravings. i could devour one family size serving all alone😛
Thank you so much for your kind words. Eric and Steve work really hard on production and editing, and deserve all the credit. Thank you so much for watching. ❤️
If you get the chance to buy the peach mango pie especially if it is still warm, try it with vanilla ice cream, it's really good 👍🏼 also if they have it on the menu, try the pancit palabok(it is pronounced pan-sit btw)
A lot of foreigners enjoy the spicy chickenjoy... Try that one...and what Filipinos usually do is pour the gravy all over our rice... We're HUGE rice eaters so we really enjoy pouring gravy on our rice.. KFC in the Philippines used to have a refillable pitcher of hot gravy coz customers are allowed to get free refills of their gravy... Jollibee also used to give free or extra gravy cups when customers ask... But that was WAAAAAAAAAY BACK... When most customers caught up to the free gravy, Jollibee started to sell the gravy in a little bit bigger cups and no more free gravy... I don't know if it's still the same nowadays in the Philippines though...
Guys you actually have a Filipino street food there in Canada. It's called little manila in Toronto. You should try it there and buy some of our street food..no need to go to the Philippines. Please please please guys.
Oooh I’ve only heard about Jollibee, never tried it, but looks pretty delish!! Yum crispy juicy chicken 🍗😛!! I’m so surprised they give you a whole container full of gravy!! That’s awesome!! Ooooh yesss, totally put some malibu rum in there 🙌😛 The spaghetti looks very interesting 🍝 surprised to see this item at a fried chicken place, love the idea!! 👏👏🙌 yay great pie flakiness! 😋😋 This was great guys!! 👍👍
Soooo jealous! Been wanting to try Jollibee for a long time now, none in our area. I’d love to try their spicy chicken. Kelly, loved your stirring the spaghetti song, lololol Love you guys and cheers! 😃😎🎄
We are gonna have to go back for the peach mango pie. There are 2 jollibee locations we can get to, and neither of them had that pie. Must be a popular choice!
Most Americans hate the Jolly (Filipino) Spaghetti, with its sweet banana ketchup based sauce, because they compare it to Italian Spaghetti that has a more sour tomato based sauce. Next time try Jollibee's Pancit Palabok (a Filipino noodle dish with shrimp sauce and topped with several ingredients such as cooked shrimp, boiled pork, crushed chicharon, tinapa (dried fish) flakes, fried tofu, scallions, and fried garlic.) I've seen most Americans who tried it - liked it; maybe you'd like it too.
Thanks for watching Norman! We did try the Palabok....a video will be coming out this week where we try it, along with all the chicken sandwiches from Jollibee!
@@MaatsFeather I knew they are Canadians. I didn't specify The Trips. I said "most Americans" (North Americans) here where I am from (U.S.) tried it and maybe they (Canadians) should too.
We dont have Banana Langka flavor put here in the Philippines. But you may encounter almost the same but it is called Turon. It is fried wrapped sweet banana. Langka is optional as it is seasonal unless it is preserved one.
do try, the spaghetti has banana sauce that makes it sweet. if you also try the palabok fiesta don't forget to squeeze on it the lemon juice sachet that comes with it. Also mix well both dishes before eating. enjoy...
Filipino spaghetti is made of banana ketchup that's why its sweet. it's more nutritious too coz its made banana ketchup, it rich in potassium and vit.c.
Next time on jollibee please try the palabok, spicy fried chicken, and the peach mango pie, i hope jollibee brings the choco mallow pie in your area. Good review guys. Thanks for trying jollibee
OMG, I absolutely love your videos/vlogs! Your content is awesome. I live in the U.S.(where I was born and raised) and am of Filipino descent. I really admire your adventurous palates. My favorite was your review of the Pork Adobo and Sinigang. Those pork ribs floating in the dish looked so unctuous and mouth-watering. The down side of our cuisine is that it must be enjoyed in moderation along with everything else. I was wondering if you've already tried "Diniguan" (Pork blood stew). Children who grew up in the states or Canada in Filipino families are told the dish is called "chocolate meat" but it's made not only with pork meat, but the offal as well. Some people find it a little difficult to eat but it is delicious. You might want to try other things like Bagoong (shrimp paste used as a condiment) or Balut which is a duck egg with a partially developed embryo. It tastes like a cross between the yolk of a hard cooked egg and the white meat of chicken. The smell of Bagoong can be strong, smelly and offensive and it takes a bit of getting used to but it's salty and you can put it on a mango slice. Other dishes you might enjoy are Kare-Kare which is a beef Oxtail stew cooked with peanut sauce and vegetables like eggplant, okra and squash. In any case, please continue with your excellent inspiring reviews.
Thank you so much, glad you like our little YT videos! It's been create to explore different cuisines outside our normal chain restaurants. We have tried some of the dishes you mentioned, Diniguan for example, and have a playlist of Filipino food we tried if you're interested in watching. Please forgive us for some of our mispronunciations. We do our best to research the food before try it, but are still learning. Thanks again for watching!
For Jollibee, I'd say these foods are like the better choices if you're like newbies/beginner level to the Fililino palate in terms of Jollibee foods...you can add the Jolly hotdog and DEFINITELY try the Peach Mango pie if you like your dessert sweet... For intermediate, I'd probably recommend the burger steak.. Kinda like a salisbury style steak... And the aloha burger... And some of the other burgers... They can be an acquired taste.. But I found some foreigners taste testing Jollibee for the first time who like the Jollibee burger patty and its mystery sauce.. And the halo-halo too.. Filipinos have loved that cold treat for forever.. It's sometimes perplexing to me why some foreigners find it weird.. The texture maybe? Or maybe it's the sweet beans? That's asian palate for you.. We enjoy our sweet beans.. Japanese also put it into breads or as filling for pastries.. We do that too in the Philippines.. I think also in some other Asian countries... Anyway, For difficult level, try the Palabok... That one is definitely an acquired taste.. I've only seen very few foreigners who like it...
I never knew there was Banana Langka Pie existing in Jollibee 😮 cuz we don't have that here in the Philippines!
