Maybe you could consider combining the cardboard and the tin foil. Tin foil on the inside of the structure will reflect your body heat back inside. If you add in some thermal mass, like say 4 buckets of water, that could store some of the heat, maintaining the temperature better. If one of the boxes comes with some Styrofoam packing sections, that would make a good insulating floor. If you have extra boxes, you could use them for structural supports all around. Find some plastic it, use it to make it waterproof (remember to include ventilation holes though). Add some mesh screens to keep the mosquitoes out. Only problem with this plan is that it will cost 5 X as much as possibly take a week. Other than that it is obviously the perfect plan. Lol.
Wait, since we've learned that aluminum foil is good at keeping out rain (information from his umbrella video), then you could combine the cardboard house and aluminum house idea to make a semi-sturdy, waterproof home! :)
