About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

“Stevie Wonder can’t see shit...but his music is dope” Stevie summed up in one sentence. Nice.
Holy shit yeah, that was the line, hahahha
But he CAN see tho... lol
@@allemoney You beat me to it lmfao.
Paper boi Paper boi, all about the paper boy
LMFAO
That's why I'm here lol
The actors in these skits are really good.
Diana wasn't that thicc irl.
@@danielbergonzi7319ew.
"London, tight butts. America, tight butts. Canada, tight butts."
Facts
'Get the ice cube out of your ass' most quote-able line if I ever heard one. LOL
That day, wasn't a good day, so way, way up a brothers ass uh na...
so glad to finally understand “you’re gonna give me a whole hundred dollars for all of my songs? where do i sign mr berry gordy”
Mal John Mulaney!
Same
Bro that’s exactly what I though when I clicked on the video!
Bryan Tyree is such a GOAT man my god
Dude I'm laughing way to much
Berry Gordy was also really hard on his artists and didn’t pay them nearly enough of what they deserved. They basically signed all their rights away to him and he owned all the music so he gave them shit pay
He was an exploitive predator that gets more credit than he deserves.
Glad I wasn't the one to be the buzz kill. But yeah, he was a pimp. Not in the good way either.
spot on. and he bullied florence ballard. poor lass. diana ross became his focus early on and he simply dismissed other artists because of her.
@@ldbboosha yeah and it was pure hell if you didn't kiss his ass.
you DO realize they all came back and sued him as adults, and Motown paid thru the nose for its duplicity.
Drunk History should be added to all school curriculum. Make this happen!
As a high school social studies teacher, I try to use them if it’s one where they don’t curse. Obviously the students have heard cursing (and use it themselves), but administration and parents don’t want to hear that happening in my classroom. Often times I will recommend Drunk History, or watch it a bunch of times beforehand so I can hit mute right as they curse.
my history teacher was always drunk
My science teacher made us watch Mythbusters
Allen Cameron you sound like a great teacher!
And 'Thug Notes'.
"It's hitting me Derek"
"It's okay"
🤣🤣
I’m dead! That guy playing Stevie Wonder looking every direction with the sunglasses hahaha!
Don't forget that his son is LMFAO's Redfoo, and his grandson is Skyblue of LMFAO too
Yes, he also has an older daughter.
Wow didn't know that
"alright, i'm a woman of my own means. i'mma let you hit it."
"forreal? you gone let me smash?"
"yeah, i'mma let you smash." 🤣🤣🤣🤣 incredible.
He also has 8 kids. One of them was with Diana Ross. Apparently he's the father to RedFoo and grandfather to SkyBlu of LMFAO 🤣
That’s crazzzzyyy
There is no way you can mention Motown without Smokey Robinson. Smokey Robinson was the mastermind. He wrote most of all the songs.
Facts.
This is the history of motown in a 5 minute segment. Relax bruh
The Four Tops wasn’t mentioned either.
But how you skip over Michael and the Jackson 5 lol
They drunk man😂
"Stevie Wonder can't see shit...but his music...is dope!!"
How true....how true indeed.
Barry Gordy was truly ahead of his time, buying stuff off Amazon in 1988.
He said he’s 86, and he’s on the beach buying stuff off amazon. Present day.
He's still alive, he was talking about what he gets up these days
👀 how u don't mention the Jackson 5 somewhere up in there 🤣🤣 very niiice though😁
Cuz it was more important to say out loud what’s been downlow for years...him and Diana Ross smashin lol that wasn’t in Ebony or Jet even after Rhonda showed up looking just like him.
Tightbutts! LOL!
I miss Atlanta. Brian's acting was already great in Season 1, but he got to take the character to another level in Season 2.
His lines for Diana Ross are fucking killing me😂😂😂
"you're not my type, you're ugly, I'm not into you"
good grief😂
Hear me out: Brian Tyree Henry in everything.
I think this could work, y'all. I really do.
2:25 had me rollin cuz you know he looked like that when Queen Diana rebuffed his advances.
2:23 I love that look! LOL
this is the funniest drunk history i've seen. tyree henry is a master storyteller.
Uhhhh...he exploited almost every artist he ever worked with...wtf
True...but to be fair, most of the record labels were doing that in those days.
Cadillac records
They missed the part about where Flo was the lead of the Supremes.
Errrrbody misses that...except Unsung.
Who?
and she was the one who actually named the group.
@@christopherayettey4390 she's talking about Florence Ballard.who was a founding member and a part of the classic line up of the Supremes
Flo was the lady with the Big Voice. A real soul singer. But Berry was interested more in Pop music so Diana Ross fit the bill. Flo could have had a solid career as a star.
Mary is still singing today
With success and a good jazz singer. Flo heart was broken with the spot light
On Ms Ross. Shame on Motown for not building
3 talented women. Many talented people's careers
Took a back seat very sad.
And today you never see Ms Ross at any Motown
Events to honor the company or people that made her famous.
Big ups for that authentic scene of old Detroit at the beginning.
Love this. And your hat is too funny!! ❤️
The ice cube song though!😆😂
@53 secs in drunk Carl connected alledged Detroit history...Hitsville, this where "hits"come from...! Ijs, I never thought of that until he said it. 💜💜💜
Not everybody likes rap, not everybody likes R&B, but EVERYBODY LOVES MOTOWN
Best episode yet!
I'm a little disappointed they didn't highlight how unfair Berry was to his artists. We can admire what he did accomplish while still acknowledging his shitty behavior too.
Best documentary on Berry yet, straight to the point!! 😂
The dude during the house buy part... But To good. I love this series
Berry is also the father of the two guys in the group LMFAO.
@* I find that to be the most hilarious and most random thing in the world. The Gordy's bloodline went from "The Track to me Tears" or "Precious Love" to "I'm Sexy and I know It." When I found that out it made my day.
@LaBelle424242 LMFAO is the name of the group. (Not a reaction to the statement. Understandable confusion.)
Archie One of the guys.
He's also the father of Rockwell, who had a hit in 1984 titled "Somebody's Watching Me".
Michael Jackson sang the chorus on that song
@Archie one of those guys is his grandson
Berry Gordy discovered some of the most talented black people on this planet..Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye just 2 examples. HOWEVER, he treated other singers like dirt on the bottom of his shoe. Florence Ballard of The Supremes was dismissed in 1967 and replaced with Cindy Birdsong. Diana Ross began taking over everything including Berry's mind.
In the end many artists suffered..Mary Wells, Florence Ballard, Martha Reeves, Mary Wilson were all put aside for Ms Ross.
I do not like Diana Ross. Pretends to be nice on stage, but is a moody miserable stuck up woman off stage. FALSE people do my head in.
Everything you said there is absolutely right. The stage play/film Dream Girls draws it’s influence from the relationship between Berry Gordy, Diana Ross, and Florence Ballard.
Dirty Diana. Just ask Michael about that one
This is true if you look at how other artists of her era don’t rock with her.
@@eyespy3001 What do you mean? Michael idolized Diana Ross until the day he died. I don't recall him ever saying a negative thing about her in his life. That song was about groupies who'd cling to musicians for access to their wealth and fame.
Thank you! I'm sorry but Diana Ross is overrated 🤷🏾
This is one of my favorite ones yet.
That was one of the best ones !!
Excellent!
"I'm not in love with you back, you ugly, you not my type" 🤣🤣💔
I love this series♥️💕
I think that this "Berry Gordy- Motown was the best Drunk History lesson yet.
✌😎 🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶
Yessir, cheers to Berry Gordy indeed!
Bravo!👏👏👏👏
Let me hear you sing “I can sing!! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
You should do a Drunk History episode based around Berry Gordy's THE LAST DRAGON.
this is d most creative shit on youtube soofar this year. you could play this vid at top speed and still enjoy it bro, dope-job!
"Go to London, Tight butts!" 🤣
Diana Ross was not a founding member of the Supremes. Florence Ballard was the original lead singer.
Just listen for first time, nice commentary, funny and informative, Berry Giddy still fine at 90. PEACE!
Idk but after seeing this, I want Tyler the creator on this show
So I read this, and a picture of him playing little Richard popped in my head.
Dope 🤝
Or Sammy Davis jr
No...
"get that ice cube outta ya' ass" omg, thats the best thing ever
My favorite show ever ❤️😂
Yooooo. This is funny AF!!!
Berry Gordy’s son is the same guy from the I’m sexy and I know it video... who woulda thought!
Drunk history is the best
My home! Detroit 💙
That man approving the 'Hitsville' sign and Motown was funny!!!!
Carl must've ran out of time because he forgot to mention the lovechild (Rhonda) Berry and Diana made after smashing for many years.
I bust out laughing before I even watched it.....lol!
Berry has to watch this 😆 🤣 😂
lmfao at that hat
Carl!!!! I'm happy to see him do drunk history!!
👍👍
Do Ida B Wells next!
That eye roll was priceless
I just watched He's Just Not That Into You, and I can honestly say that the highlight of that whole movie was the two seconds at the very end where Derek Waters is in the background. I about lost my dang mind.
I got the opportunity to visit Hitsville it was Amazing. It was very much like stepping back in time. Being there with my dad was the best time ever ❤️ I mean I stood in the very cockpit the temptations recorded in... If you ever make it to Detroit that place is fun to visit.
What drink is that hes holding at the begining? Any help would be appreciated!🙏
Keep it up C.C
Brian is so underrated 💜
His hat bruh 😂
If you ever visit Detroit you gotta visit Hitsville which is now the Motown Museum.
He on the beach... buying stuff on amazon!? Lmaoooo omfg that was hilarious
Wow, I didn't know about Barry Gordy. This makes me want to do more research.
Why does his hat say “White Women”?
He is in an improv group called White Women (the group is composed of black males)
Hahaha 😂
I want that hat
He probably roots for that team
because
Best ever
They got Berry Gordy. We got LMFAO : (
Blame Berry Gordy for that. LMFAO is his son and grandson.
🤣
I liked this before watching. Don't let me down Bro
Half way through. I ain't mad
Why did I think This was gonna be a movie made about him and Motown!, besides the Temptations movie!, why Berry Gordy never had his own Movie!
the premise of this show cracks me up. Its like having google translate english into another language, and then back to english again.
It's Paperboi! 😄
Lol his hat!
nice video bro
This episode was really good tho
Freaking hilarious 😂

Barry Gordy literally changed the world in a dirt basement.
