"did I just lose"
A common fate when facing emvee heat.
GG, its emvee!
No, obviously you didn't
Gen 4 was my favourite, first games I took vaguely seriously. Best starter diversity IMO and platinum was great in terms of pacing and story
Platinum was my very first video game so it will always hold a special place in my heart
Platinum reminds me of my college days. Sigh.
Pokemon peaked in gen 4 for me - after that I rarely had much spare time for them, though Sword and Shield have been getting some hours lately
I couldn't stand gen 4 until Platinum fixed the issues with how slow the Diamond/Pearl engine ran.
Gen 4 is my first and favorite pokemon game
But if you say the peak, i would say gen 5 is the peak, then it went downhill from ther
Generation 5 Unova for sure there was just so many of my all time favorite designs
-Hydriegon
-Volcarona
-Semitoad
-Serperior
Just to name a few
Seismitoad? But most definitely volcarona was my fav all gen
Seismatoad is an ugly mon. I have never liked that thing one of my least favorite for sure
Although I was never a big fan of gen 5, cinccino is one of my favourite pokemon.
At first cinccino was pretty meh to me, just another cute pokemon.... then I discovered skill link, choice band with tail slap, bullet seed, triple axle and u turn... king of PU
Krookodile 😏
I also love the gen 5 meta with the lati’s dropping dracos. Sand force with scarf excadrill destroying the competition, leech seed+leftovers ferrothorn. The best set up mon for sand hippowdon. Zoroark for illusions and perhaps to trick a ring target so zone can sweep with the buffed specs thunderbolt or earthquakers freely spamming the move. And zoroark for offensive pressure as well. And the introduction of the eviolite which is great for stuff like chansey and dusclops who can get to a whopping 500 in both defense stats with the eviolite. So yea, the gen 5 meta has been one of the best one’s for me personally
ive used dual wingbeat scyther before
*it missed a lot*
Damn I don’t think I’ve missed it once yet. Keep ya head up big guy

Favorite gen is II for me. I love how they weren't planning to go past the one sequel, so they made it as epic as they could and included the previous region for postgame, which was a great design choice
i wish they executed Kanto better. Kanto as a whole is boring af in the Gen 2 games because everything is 2 underleveled.
Has to be Gen IV. A lot of iconic mons introduced that Gen (including one of my faves, Staraptor) and had an interesting Starter dynamic (in that every Starter mon could theoretically beat the other two).
For today's question, my favorite generation is Unova, since it was the one that got me into competitive Pokemon in the first place. One of my best friends from school was really into Showdown at the time, I played a couple games with him, and just went from there.
i feel like unova felt lame at first but it aged so well compared to the newer ones truly a hidden gem
I always loved Unova, Shame that it got so hated for dumb reasons
Well, I've never actually played any of the games; my real Pokemon experience started with Showdown. Unova was the most recent generation when I started, so that's why it's my favorite.
It was mine too. But lorewise in the main series Gen 4 equals it, maybe it’s even better with mythology. But all i know is that those are in my top 4 generations easily
Gen 4 was my favorite, that was the revolution of Pokemon IMO with the special and physical split so monsters like gyarados and salamence started to reach their fullest potentials (barring Mega evolution ofc) Gen 3 was my first real game being Sapphire then Emerald so that holds a special place in my heart.
Loving the usage some non standard mons like porygon z and scyther are getting. Keep up the great content man!
Lol he’s also using extremely meta mons like urshifu and dragapult lol. Gets boring watching the same 6-10 pokemon on EVERY single team lol
TheRealLostWalker I feel you but it’s really, really difficult to build an entire non-meta team and succeed
Porygon Z and Scyther not standard? 😂😂
Blunt Katana I mean not magearna stall which is fucking everywhere
Blunt Katana are you implying SCYTHER is standard? Cmon chief
Gen 4 Diamond, I remember vividly being outside in my backyard when I first started it up, hell I can even see the date on the journal in my mind. It was the first Pokémon game I beat all the way though, I played the 3 other gens but this one was the first I beat. I remember each gym and area so well. I remember always getting stuck at the ghost gym and then finally beating it and being amazed I was past it and being unbelievably awed when I beat Cynthia. Not only that but the friend aspect of it too, I remember staying up with my friend at sleepovers and doing the mining game and simply talking about Pokémon, looking at cards and looking up info. Sinnoh and Diamond will always hold a special special place in my heart
my fav is gen 5. All the pokemon seem so unique and the games have a mysterious or dark aspect to them that I really like. Love the vids emvee!
Gen 4 is where I REALLY started to get into Pokémon, and gen 7 is when I had the most fun competitively so its a toss up between the two
I REALLY liked the back dug the background music this live. Piano Lttp, yes please. Great content as always too. :)
ain’t nothing better than watching your vids while eating dinner bro, perfect end to the day. keep it up brother 🖤
Gz on 40k subscribers!! Gen 5 OU competitive is my favorite as well. Tossup between Gen 2 story (you get to play 2 games basically) and Gen 3 story (such a big game engine overhaul)
emvee be out here like "I'm using non standard mons" while having dragapult, terrakion, urshifu and magearna LOOOL
#DracoGang
LOOL ayy at least scyther carried tho :]
Sorry I haven't been active again, but Scyther and Scizor are some of my favorite Pokemon, anyways much love, I really like how much you put effort into every video. Keep up with the amazing work Emvee!!!!!! 🙂
30:37 my man’s spidey senses were tingling
facts LOL
Unovaaa! So much love to that region, I adore the variety of pokemon in that dex, even if in Black and White the mons from previous gens were... nonexistant. The graphics, moving sprites, characters, evil team, story and this is containing B2W2 as well of course. Developments of characters and various personality traits that were unseen or at least not the priority in previous generations. The meta took an interesting turn in this gen of course due to weather spam and created the opening for gen 6, 7 and now 8. Super nice gen overall, will always be my fav!
Love the thumbnail. You know immediately what heat you're in for this time
Gen 3 was my favourite. Epic legendary trio , fantastic sub legendary/mystical, well designed starter and alot of good mon. Battle frontier was addicted, and the introduction of pokemon ability is one of the most important mechanic in pokemon game
My favorite gen comes down to either gen 3 or gen 4 HGSS. Both had unique things to offer and i can't choose between the two.
As for future mons to see, something with Psych Up could be interesting like maybe with Rotom-Heat or Alakazam to reverse sweep volc/magearna lol. Keep up the enjoyable content man! :D
Gen 4 is the best, it's how I got into competitive pokemon, finding friend codes in serebii chat for wi-fi battles. Good times
My favourite is Gen4, Sinnoh was not my first game, but definitely the one I spent the most time on. Thanks for bringing the Scyther back, it's not quite the Eviolite SD set from gen 7, but I love it all the same.
Emvee’s so good he can outplay the CZcams algorithm
gen 5 is my favorite generation overall. story is incredible, very deep, and i love the new mons introduced
Lmao that jinx to miss Dual Wingbeat on Volcarona to lose right after was just tragic! 😩🤣
QOTD: gen 6. They gave my boi Charizard dragon typing and remade Hoenn which is my favorite region.
Bro that call on the DWB Miss was perfection
congrats on 40 homie
My fav gen is personally gen 7 I love the look there’s A LOT of flaws especially hand holding but I think gen 7’s setting and dex are really what sell it for me, but a close second probably goes to gen 4 I loved d/p/p and Heart Gold / Soul silver and 3rd would be gen 5 I love those games too!
Yeah, gen 7 dex is my fave too. Also the totem pokemon wasn't that bad, but it got annoying quite fast
Emvee!!!! Kick buns to you and Joey dude. 👊
Gen 4 was my favourite. Getting the Physical/Special split on moves was really nice.
I loved gen 4, especially platinum and hg/ss. The optional minigames were amazing in those games like the pokealthon and the mining area, the gambling areas that are no longer in pokemon. The battle frontier was a lot of fun and the post game for these games always had a huge amount of content. The soundtrack in most pokemon games are good but I really liked the piano in sinnoh. And something I really miss from the older games is finding legendaries after exploring somewhere off route, rather than going through a ring or something.
Never played it competitively, but gen2 games were soooo much fun! Loved that it felt like you got 2 games in one.
my favorite gen was gen 4, i remember i ran into my best friend at target the day it came out cause we were both gonna (make our parents) buy it
YO SCYTHER LOOKING FLY IN THOSE BOOTS
Nice Scyther putting in the work
I wanna see some more Porygon
Gen 4, I have so many great memories from playing through it as a kid
Very fire, music in the background in this one.
I only clicked for that spicy Scyther thumbnail with the timbs.
I fell in love with Hoenn's Desert Heat. Still waiting on that Mega-Flygon, GameFreak...
Gen 4 is my first, and fav. Love the vids btw
Emvee Jinxed himself at 22:19 😂
i really did LOL
Gen 4 was really the start of competitive battling. Items, diversity, typing, viability, movepool, abilities. I played OU back then but moved to UU after all the OP mons started coming out. I still remember I got top 10 OU and UU on Smogon back in the day.
My favorite is definitely Gen 4 because it was my first gen of Pokémon and I was blessed to play Platinum as my first ever game. Great way to start on the series :)
That Scyther sweep lets goooo 🔥
Definitely gen 3 too, made me really fall in love with the franchise
My favorite gens competitively are 4th, 5th, then 8th. I especially loved 4th gen UU/NU and 5th gen RU/NU. I think those formats allowed for some of the most creativity ever in Pokemon because so many Pokemon were viable with multiple sets.
I'm gonna do something controversial yet brave.
My favorite generation of pokemon is gen 5. I grew up playing them and will always hold a special place in my heart for them.
My least favorite generation is definitely the millennials. They've destroyed so many things that I love like napkins and Applebee's
Lmao
Applebee's is garbage
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
And plastic straws, effin’ commies
As a 12-14yo kid, Applbee’s used to be one of my favorite restaurants to go to whenever I took a day trip into the nearest city.
They had a menu item I absolutely loved that was steak with grilled shrimp and melted blue cheese, and I kinda miss it.
I wouldn’t blame millennials, I’d blame idiots who think sports bars are the only good bars. That’s what Applebee’s turned into: a mediocre attempt at a fancy sports bar.
Gen 3 both the Hoen and Kanto remakes games were my first played pokemon games. I ownded silver before gen 3 released but didn't have a GB color at the time so it was just a really cool piece of plastic with lugia on it.
Gen 3 is my answer but Gen 4 is also amazing. D&P were the fist games I got on release, after that HGSS truly filled my gen 2 void
Unova all the way! Sure I must be blinded by nostalgia, but it has a lot of great Pokémon and characters too! I appreciate Gamefreak for giving Gen 5 Pokémon galarian forms. ^^
Which? Stunfisk is one...
@@CigaretteCrayon Yamask, and a gmax, Garbodor
@@martinprado5133 and op darmanitan
@@No-us1qz omg it’s zen mode is broken. It has absolutely no switch ins that’ll stay alive in 2 hits since his zen modes attack stat is ridiculously high. Like mega bannete lvls of offense except it also outspeeds tapu koko and shockingly even ash greninja by 1 point.
I loved gen VI, I played gen 4 a bunch as a kid but then dropped the series. Came back when ORAS launched and fell back in love with the series.
Gen 3 is my favorite. I played 1 and 2 but i never finished them as i was pretty young. I beat the elite four the first time in gen 3 and caught all the pokemon available in sapphire version. I started playing competitive in gen 6 so it will always be my favorite competitive gen as i feel its all downhill since then
Gen 3 is my favorite bc it had some of my favs like Absol, Cradily, and Metagross. It was also the first main series game I owned. I also had Pokemon Stadium 2 that is the reason I love battling
LORD OF THE TERRAIN! This calls for a Pincurchin/G-Weezing/Rillaboom/Indeedee quad terrain team.
“If we get rid of Chansey, that means we have a Chansey of winning this game” 😂
I'm just gonna put my favorite gens in order:
8
3
5
4
6
1
7
People may be confused by my opinion of 8 being on top, but I loved everything about this game. The Pokémon designs, the wild area, the attempt for making battles more like competitive battling toward the end, the step away from focusing on an evil maniac. It makes much more sense for your character to be forced into having to take down the big bad rather than actively working against them. You're a kid. Leave the criminals to the adults unless you absolutely have to. And the music... The music is phenomenal. Sw/Sh has the best music in the entire series. As someone that never cared about completing the pokedex anyway, the whole Dexit business never bothered me either.
Fantastic games.
This video was incredible
Gen 3 is my favourite too as that was my first game. Had my first mon, my boy mudkip
My favorite region is Hoenn, I really like that the region is divided between continent and sea routes.
Gen 2 was insane. I started with gen 1 so when gold/silver came out and I unlocked Kanto, I flipped my lid!
My favourite pokemon are actually scyther and scizor, I've loved scyther since I first saw the episode where Tracey got one. I even have a tattoo with both scy/sciz in it!
Honestly for me it always was gen 4 and i can't even remember how many times i replayed D/P/P and HG/SS. I loved how they introduced so many baby mons and new evolutions. Besides I use Leafeon (so cute 😍) in every playthrough I can, so viva gen 4.
My favorite generation is either gen 3 or 4. The definitive games in those gens are the best in the series. My favorite competitive generation is either 6 or 7 depending on what I’m playing. Gen 7 VGC was really fun to me
Fav gen is 4 with all the 3rd evolutions for gen 1 and 2 mons. Also would love to see some poliwrath action
Gen 4, loved all the new evos like Yanmega, Gallade, P-Z, Zone, Gliscor etc.
I had no idea Slurpuff could learn Sticky Web now
For me, I loved playing gen 3/4 as a child but gen 6 with the 3D animations is what got me back into Pokémon as I got older. I’d have to say gen 6 just cuz it’s the reason I’m still playing Pokémon today :)
I think gen 5 was my favourite, I loved how there were only new pokémon until you beat the game and though hidden abilities were locked behind a game I couldn't play at the time, hidden abilities are for sure my favourite introduced mechanic alongside mega evolutions, though both are admittately not very well balanced.
Btw., I saw the pun in the discribtion and you can definetely do better ;)
My favourite gen is gen 5. Black and white 2 are my favourite games of all time and gen 5 was the last truly great Pokémon games.
Also it gave us Trubbish and Garbodor so instant 10/10 for that.
This thumbnail is gold
Please use blunder policy, hypnosis, belly drum, Poliwrath. This gen has been very kind to it and it puts in work especially now cuz it has drain punch, close combat and liquidation
Gen 4 was my favourite - they were the first games I played after I completely missed gen 2 and 3! Also Cynthia was an awesome champion.
Emvee entered an era of clickbait titles that I am all for lmao but every now and then I wish he would bless us with an old school title 🙏
He actually does the puns in the description of each video now :)
My fav is gen 4, lots of great memories WiFi battling and using all the new mechanics
Answered like a true genwunner.
Gen 2 and Gen 3 were my favorites. They introduced so many cool pokemon with unique abilities and gimmicks, plus I loved their designs.
That Volcarona miss was so painful
Funny how he sees meowstic and thinks about the beating blunder took
I love gen 5, it's when I started playing, and I really liked the graphics
Favorite was gen 4, I mainly love gen 2 but the ss/hg remakes made me fall in love with pokemon, even tho I played it as a kid but not as much.
Gen 7! Great refreshing change to the formula and fun metagames in most tiers
Your urshifu is facing the wrong way
gen 4 was one of the best gens in my opinion, even the elite 4 in game gave a bit of a challenge and the mons themself are great
My favorite Pokémon gen is a tie between 2-3 bc those are the first games I played. My favorite gen competitively is probably gen 6, that’s when I got introduced to you, Joey, shofu, etc. and also I loved mega evolution
Gen 2 is my favorite for nostalgia and casual reasons. Gen 5 is my favorite competitively
Gen 4 was my first game, but, there will always be a special place in my heart for the original gen 5 games. They have the best story by far in my opinion.
I like all the gens because I got into competitive in late Gen 7 so I don't have any experience before it. All gen introduced some amazing mons and some good new mechanics. But if I had to chose one, Gen 5 just for the sheer no. of great mons that came from it. Also I definitely want to check out the the permanent weather gameplay of it.
Original Hoenn for sure, everyone was dropping out of pokemon left and right but damn did I love the pokemon contests
My man be running 4 legendaries, Slurpuff and Dragapult.
Gen 2 is just my favourite. So many great memories, good story and two regions! Still hasn't been topped tbh
Gen 4 is my fave but gen 3 music bops soooo hard
Gen 4 is my favorite. The gen 2 remakes and platinum were just too amazing. If we're talking anime wise, then it's gen 6, although that's pretty close.
Gen 3 was the best gen for games. 2nd gen was my first game (crystal) something just hits different. Lance and Claire (not to forget Will the ice type E4 member) were just awesome!
0 Dislikes, that's what I like to see. Can't wait to watch. :D
cool team!
Gen 4 is my favorite gen mostly because of nostalgia, and I NEED these gen 4 remakes ASAP. Other gens I also really like are Gen 6 and Gen 8 because those were the two gens during which I was most engaged in the competitive scene, which is the most fun part of pokémon to me. Gens 1-3 really aren't my thing, I got bored of Gen 7 very quickly and Gen 5 I played the games for a while but never even knew comp existed and I ditched the games after a while too, so I prefer the other ones.
Black and White! Something about all the mons being new gives it that Red/Blue feel for me.
