I also love the gen 5 meta with the lati’s dropping dracos. Sand force with scarf excadrill destroying the competition, leech seed+leftovers ferrothorn. The best set up mon for sand hippowdon. Zoroark for illusions and perhaps to trick a ring target so zone can sweep with the buffed specs thunderbolt or earthquakers freely spamming the move. And zoroark for offensive pressure as well. And the introduction of the eviolite which is great for stuff like chansey and dusclops who can get to a whopping 500 in both defense stats with the eviolite. So yea, the gen 5 meta has been one of the best one’s for me personally

Gen 4 Diamond, I remember vividly being outside in my backyard when I first started it up, hell I can even see the date on the journal in my mind. It was the first Pokémon game I beat all the way though, I played the 3 other gens but this one was the first I beat. I remember each gym and area so well. I remember always getting stuck at the ghost gym and then finally beating it and being amazed I was past it and being unbelievably awed when I beat Cynthia. Not only that but the friend aspect of it too, I remember staying up with my friend at sleepovers and doing the mining game and simply talking about Pokémon, looking at cards and looking up info. Sinnoh and Diamond will always hold a special special place in my heart

The graphics, moving sprites, characters, evil team, story and this is containing B2W2 as well of course. Developments of characters and various personality traits that were unseen or at least not the priority in previous generations. The meta took an interesting turn in this gen of course due to weather spam and created the opening for gen 6, 7 and now 8. Super nice gen overall, will always be my fav!

I loved gen 4, especially platinum and hg/ss. The optional minigames were amazing in those games like the pokealthon and the mining area, the gambling areas that are no longer in pokemon. The battle frontier was a lot of fun and the post game for these games always had a huge amount of content. The soundtrack in most pokemon games are good but I really liked the piano in sinnoh. And something I really miss from the older games is finding legendaries after exploring somewhere off route, rather than going through a ring or something.

    5
    4
    6
    1
    7
People may be confused by my opinion of 8 being on top, but I loved everything about this game. The Pokémon designs, the wild area, the attempt for making battles more like competitive battling toward the end, the step away from focusing on an evil maniac. It makes much more sense for your character to be forced into having to take down the big bad rather than actively working against them. You're a kid. Leave the criminals to the adults unless you absolutely have to. And the music... The music is phenomenal. Sw/Sh has the best music in the entire series. As someone that never cared about completing the pokedex anyway, the whole Dexit business never bothered me either.

My favourite gen is gen 5. Black and white 2 are my favourite games of all time and gen 5 was the last truly great Pokémon games.
Also it gave us Trubbish and Garbodor so instant 10/10 for that.

Please use blunder policy, hypnosis, belly drum, Poliwrath. This gen has been very kind to it and it puts in work especially now cuz it has drain punch, close combat and liquidation

Gen 4 was my favourite - they were the first games I played after I completely missed gen 2 and 3! Also Cynthia was an awesome champion.

My favorite Pokémon gen is a tie between 2-3 bc those are the first games I played. My favorite gen competitively is probably gen 6, that’s when I got introduced to you, Joey, shofu, etc. and also I loved mega evolution

Gen 4 was my first game, but, there will always be a special place in my heart for the original gen 5 games. They have the best story by far in my opinion.

I like all the gens because I got into competitive in late Gen 7 so I don't have any experience before it. All gen introduced some amazing mons and some good new mechanics. But if I had to chose one, Gen 5 just for the sheer no. of great mons that came from it. Also I definitely want to check out the the permanent weather gameplay of it.

Gen 4 is my favorite. The gen 2 remakes and platinum were just too amazing. If we're talking anime wise, then it's gen 6, although that's pretty close.

Gen 4 is my favorite gen mostly because of nostalgia, and I NEED these gen 4 remakes ASAP. Other gens I also really like are Gen 6 and Gen 8 because those were the two gens during which I was most engaged in the competitive scene, which is the most fun part of pokémon to me. Gens 1-3 really aren't my thing, I got bored of Gen 7 very quickly and Gen 5 I played the games for a while but never even knew comp existed and I ditched the games after a while too, so I prefer the other ones.
