Defeating the Icy Ghoul (and the one that spawns in the attic) would put it in the victory display, so it actually shouldn't have been shuffled back into the deck and redrawn. If it was still in the deck at that point, it would spawn in the cellar anyways.

Also, and possibly the biggest deal of all aside from the Ghoul Priest mistake, they used Forbidden Knowledge to give them clues (@ 33:15) when Forbidden Knowledge only gives resources. It's a pretty colossal error considering they were really struggling to get clues at that point in the scenario.

I've got a problem in the first scenario(the gathering). During the barrier phase, we need 6 clues to advance but there's only 4 clues with the revealing of the 2 rooms we can go. We are a bit confused, my roomate and I.

I own it. This game is brilliant. I think if you like collectible card games and you like the theme it should be a no brainer since the design itself is really fun. Though if you already went all in on Mansions of Madness (also by FFG in the same theme) I can see it feeling a bit redundant.

JEGranberg I've played it multiple times and it's always fun. You can adjust the difficulty and switch between 5 characters to run the scenarios, it still hasn't gotten old for me. Plus, when you get a few buddies over, and get some drinks going, it's just a ton of fun, especially when you have a bag draw from the chaos bag go on a tirade of anger :P
Hi, sorry this is 2years later; my girlfriend & I were just able to play AH: LCG all the way through and I returned to this video no longer fearing spoilers. I was able to identify "With Ladybird-" in the first line, and "Anything is poss-" in the second line. Did a bit of searching and just a single website exists with photos of the mug. It says "With Ladybird Tea in Claw, Anything is Possibles." And yes it includes the 'S' at the end, strangely enough. It's also signed by an "Alek" with the last name being indecipherable. There's also mention on the site of it being a give-away trade mug.. essentially an ad via merchandise.

anxietydown It's much better, trust me. Much more challenging, way more thematic, way more involving due to choices that impact the rest of the campaign. This and the new version of Mansions of Madness are just amazing and fully remove one of the main problems people had with games like Eldritch Horror and Elder Sign: the random nature of encountering random shit in random places.
StalkinPanda You just listed all the things I found fun about Elder Sign. So now those have been removed and replaced with rigid theme. And no dice. Nope.
anxietydown I'd give Arkham Horror card game a try if possible, perhaps at a local board game cafe or store. It really is a lot of fun, the randomness of previous eldritch games is there in the form of the chaos bag (my buddy and I lost the game at a key moment because he drew the insta-fail token), and it has a great rpg feeling to it, particularly in how your choices, actions, successes and failures have to be recorded and referenced in future scenarios in the campaign. It really is a blast and feels really tight, mechanically, when playing. Can't recommend it enough.
It's a more meaty game than Elder Sign. Elder Sign is for a quick dice rolling game. Arkham Horror the board game is for an long all night experience. Eldritch Horror is for a shorter more streamlined Arkham Horror experience. Mansions of Madness is for mini fans. Arkham Horror the card game is for collectible card game fans. FFG has made an Arkham Files game for all types of gamers. Not all of them will be for all gamers. If you like the theme FFG has allowed you to pick your poison.
42:20, when the Ghoul Priest engaged with you, doing the Parley action actually triggered an attack of opportunity, applying the Ghoul Priest's damage and horror.
If I saw correctly, there was also error when Quin tried to parley with Lyta, while Ghoul priest was engaged. If you do any other action than attack or evade while you are engaged, enemy gets attack of opportunity. Anyway, I liked the video.
The only downside to this one is that you need ANOTHER base game to properly make a custom deck, and also to play with four people. For shame, F.F.G. Caveat emptor.

Hi, sorry this is 2years later; my girlfriend & I were just able to play AH: LCG all the way through and I returned to this video no longer fearing spoilers.
I was able to identify "With Ladybird-" in the first line, and "Anything is poss-" in the second line. Did a bit of searching and just a single website exists with photos of the mug.
It says "With Ladybird Tea in Claw, Anything is Possibles." And yes it includes the 'S' at the end, strangely enough. It's also signed by an "Alek" with the last name being indecipherable. There's also mention on the site of it being a give-away trade mug.. essentially an ad via merchandise.

I'm not seeing any reason to play this over Elder Sign.
anxietydown It's much better, trust me. Much more challenging, way more thematic, way more involving due to choices that impact the rest of the campaign. This and the new version of Mansions of Madness are just amazing and fully remove one of the main problems people had with games like Eldritch Horror and Elder Sign: the random nature of encountering random shit in random places.

You just listed all the things I found fun about Elder Sign. So now those have been removed and replaced with rigid theme. And no dice. Nope.
anxietydown I'd give Arkham Horror card game a try if possible, perhaps at a local board game cafe or store. It really is a lot of fun, the randomness of previous eldritch games is there in the form of the chaos bag (my buddy and I lost the game at a key moment because he drew the insta-fail token), and it has a great rpg feeling to it, particularly in how your choices, actions, successes and failures have to be recorded and referenced in future scenarios in the campaign. It really is a blast and feels really tight, mechanically, when playing.
Can't recommend it enough.
anxietydown I'm with you on Elder Sign and Eldritch. Definitely will keep playing those two, but if I get the chance, this sounds fun too
It's a more meaty game than Elder Sign. Elder Sign is for a quick dice rolling game. Arkham Horror the board game is for an long all night experience. Eldritch Horror is for a shorter more streamlined Arkham Horror experience. Mansions of Madness is for mini fans. Arkham Horror the card game is for collectible card game fans. FFG has made an Arkham Files game for all types of gamers. Not all of them will be for all gamers. If you like the theme FFG has allowed you to pick your poison.
42:20, when the Ghoul Priest engaged with you, doing the Parley action actually triggered an attack of opportunity, applying the Ghoul Priest's damage and horror.
Per the rules, Parlay is one of the 4 actions that *does not* trigger an attack of opportunity.
If I saw correctly, there was also error when Quin tried to parley with Lyta, while Ghoul priest was engaged. If you do any other action than attack or evade while you are engaged, enemy gets attack of opportunity.
Anyway, I liked the video.

The only downside to this one is that you need ANOTHER base game to properly make a custom deck, and also to play with four people. For shame, F.F.G.
