Don't feel bad about crying for Spring Day. I cry every time I hear it. But the end of the song just gives so much hope, there's a reason why this song was still on the korean charts years after it first came out. Can't give you an actual hug, but please accept a virtual thoughtful hug :) I hope you also react to Save Me. The MV for Save me is a One Shot, so that's super cool and they also did a video for behind the scenes of filming it and that is really interesting to watch too.

When Spring Day started I said "oh no, here we go" and when Jimin started sing I saw you visibly break just a little bit and it's awesome to see because this song breaks every ARMY, just a little.

When the pandemic hit, bts started singing Spring Day during spots like this as a message to armys. Already a touching song, it consistently takes on different nuance.

Spring Day is such a moving song about missing someone. Yoongi's verse about the anger hits me so hard. The MV of Spring Day is what tied the song to the Sewol tragedy.

Yes, the link to the tragedy also has to do with the timing of its release. It has tremendous meaning to the people of Korea and that’s why it has not left the charts in Korea since it was released.
It’s both a song about longing and sadness and missing a loved one, and a protest of the government corruption that created and tried to cover up the ferry tragedy, and it was so courageous of them to do that at a time they were still struggling and powerless as a group. They earned themselves a spot on a government blacklist but luckily that president was removed from office, partly spurred by protest of this tragedy.
BTS radiate pure love and positive energy. It is impossible not to have them touch your heart when they sing with such emotion. Your tears are beautiful because they are sincere. And everyone has a crush on Jimin. It’s called the Jimin Effect! He can steal your man, your woman, your grandparents and your pets! He’ll make you question your orientation. He’s that irresistible 😄

Luke, the reasons for the deep emotions underlying SPRING DAY will not become apparent until you watch the explanation video, of which there are several, but the one by the Italian ARMY is especially well done. Just be prepared to be horrified by one of the worst crimes of this century. BTS couldn’t express this in the lyrics or video for the song because they’re not supposed to be political, but it’s clear that it’s a real interpretation of this event. For example, the time on the clock in the laundromat when JUNGKOOK runs through is the exact time this event occurred. But it’s truly a beautiful song, written by RM, to help assuage the pain. Don’t worry, we’ll be right there with you when you’re watching the MV & explanation!
And yes, wasn’t this a wonderful little mini-concert?! I’ve watched BTS’s TINY DESK CONCERT many many times and enjoy it every single time. The voices, the outfits, the live band, the fact that they couldn’t sit still and had to get up and bop around, the joy they get when performing these songs that they’ve sung thousands of times…it’s just great!
Next you should watch the 2021 FESTA BTS ROOM LIVE. It gives you one-minute-long clips of 7 or 8 songs, one from each of their previous albums. Gives you a taste of things you’ll want to follow up on! A super video!
Sadly, this event mirrors a lot of tragedies around the world. Not to take away from it in any way but to express that those of us that have experienced similar tragedies in our countries and understand the inability of people to speak up against tyrant, the MV is a hopeful and comforting message they are sending to all of us.
Not supposed to be political? Are you forgetting “Am I wrong?” and the performance on television? Plus their many other songs about society including their debut song. I wouldn’t put it past them if in their new album they talk about the current political situation in S. Korea, with RM’s word play.
The MV is a tribute to the tragedy but the song itself is about personal experiences from RM & Suga. It’s such a beautiful, touching and deeply personal song to me.
I’m am also glad the MV brings to light what happened in the Sewol ferry tragedy so it and the lives lost are never forgotten.

I have been Army since 2015…I am a very sensible person, logical, practical (I am a registered nurse, 26 years old, not a child), and my friends and family think my love for BTS is hilarious and ridiculous, I can’t speak about them at all, or share their music - it KILLS me, and that’s probably why I like watching reaction videos, when they are sincere, I feel like I am sharing BTS with friends - thank you 🙏💜💜
Yes it’s same for me, I don’t have any friends or family that would ‘get it’ so I don’t offer up BTS to them. I have a BTS sticker on my keyboard at work and smile when I see it. When someone is being horrible or the day is stressful I look at it and smile to myself

If we could give you a hug, we would. As soon as I saw the notification that you were covering the Tiny Desk, I knew you would be caught off guard and wrecked by Spring Day. I too share my love for BTS with my friends and they don't understand...or aren't moved enough yet to tap into their catalog of music to appreciate them. My life is fuller because of them and I so enjoy watching you fall in love with them more and more after each video.
The MV for Save Me was done in one take. On the first season of Bon Voyage, our boys were on a beach and just fooling around and they start doing the choreography for Save Me and it is being filmed from a drone overhead. And they are PERFECT! They make me cry every time too.

One of my favorite things about Spring Day is getting to hear J-Hope sing. I love his voice. So lovely to hear all of them sing together in this format. Like you said, phenomenal vocalists all of them and it is fun to watch them "play" together. 💜

Aww Luke, sending you all the cuddles and warm hugs!! SD is an emotion jerker and it hits you harder when you know the story and watch their mv. It was a devastating event in South Korea and BTS did not let it slide for the unfairly treatment it received. One among their many other social awakening songs. They truly know what the power of music can do!
When I was first learning about BTS from my daughter, Spring Day would come on in the car and without knowing anything, it would bring me to tears. I literally didn’t know the lyrics or anything, but you can *feel* when they sing.
As for the song- the story is more about the video, not necessarily when the song was written. We don’t know and based on what RM has said, it was written about missing a friend or someone but also about the story. It can mean what you want but the video is definitely about the event you will learn about.
Have to add that this is just one of the examples of the amazing lyricism of RM. He’s a literally genius with lyrics and he does write something like more than 80% of their Korean lyrics. So many songs to learn about. For me, Zero O’Clock is another totally genius one.
And yeah getting into BTS like this, it’s a sign of an open heart and they really are a just a conduit of joy and positive energy, even when it’s about difficult topics. They are really special, all 7, just destined to be who they are.

Omg this was so cute, they had me dancing and sing along to the three songs, the choice of songs sent e from being happy to sad and i went in a roller coaster of emotions.
DynAMIte had me singing and dancing along and i so wanted to be that vinyl record so badly.
Save Me had me in my feelings as i was smiling along, swaying and also Jimin, Tae and Jungkook dancing along to the chorus had me laughing so much.
Spring Day i had a tear in my eye thru that song and the vocals during it had me in my feelings so badly.

seriously, that music video is what makes you realize the purity of their hearts, what they put into it at a time where making that video could have cost them everything. Seeing you cry just by this performance, oh man 😭💜. That song was the ultimate comfort to the families of the victims of the Sewol ferry tragedy, and during the pandemic they performed it so many times in order for it to be a comfort for ARMY. You also need to react to Magic Shop, Zero O’clock (and it’s Tiny Tan animated performance), and Mikrokosmos! AND “DEAR CLASS OF 2020” BY CZcams. I was graduating class of 2020 and that shit made me SOB. Covid took my graduation, gradbash, and prom, and BTS said u not being sad today honey 😭💜.

BTS sang Spring Day to ARMY very often during the intense times of the pandemic. It's so amazing how any of their songs can have meanings that fit so many different lives and situations. Even when their world tour got canceled and they were upset, they got right back to helping people who were suffering, they way they do best. Dynamite was made to bring people joy. They released "BE" their most recent album to give comfort. The best way to describe that album is like their personal diary in music form, and its single Life Goes On is really something special 💜Now restrictions are starting to be lifted, so they released the song Permission to Dance and are tentatively trying to do live concerts again for the first time in years. The future's looking brighter now, and I'm very excited for you to experience all those songs! 💜

I’ve cried as a baby with spring day. You’ll cry twice when you react to the italian army explanation to the mv (the lyrics of the song talk about separation and missing someone beloved but the mv makes reference to a past success in South Korea). So, checking the mv first and reacting to the explanation is a must!
I am SO GLAD you did the Tiny Desk concert!!! I was so excited to see this on my subscriptions, and don't feel bad for crying or being so moved by them. Especially Spring Day, this version of that song is one of my favorites and it is so moving with the added Pandemic message they added since this came out in 2020. But you are absolutely right, this little 3-song concert really showcases all of their voices and talents and has some of my absolute favorite harmonizing parts and just... insights to their personalities. My personal stand outs are always JHope and Jungkook harmonizing during Save Me, Jimin doing back-up echoes to Suga's rap verse in Spring Day, and the way Jin KILLED his chorus parts in Dynamite. I gush about this little concert all the time, it's such a spectacular showcase of them stripped down a little bit and focusing on vocals. Imagine they usually do all this while dancing! Suga mentions Save Me was a different composition with the live band (the producer in him couldn't help it) so if you do Spring Day or Save Me MVs later you'll see they are a little bit different. But just as wonderful in their own ways. Thank you so much for such a wonderful reaction, I'm sorry no one warned you it gets emotional 😂 but I know it was worth it!!! Keep up the amazing work :)

I’m not sure if you were emotionally prepared for Spring Day lol. And the feelings you have for Jimin is referred to as the Jimin Effect. He effects all. 😂 And I too feel goosebumps when I hear RM but I thought that was because he’s my bias. 😂 And you should go without the hat and fix your hair like you normally would once so we can see it! I bet it looks super cool.

Luke, I can't tell you how much I look forward to your reactions. I discovered them mid 2021 and will never look back. I agree 100% they are truly special individuals. I've tried listening to others but they just aren't them. Not to take away from any of the others talent, but BTS are PHENOMENAL! I too have tried telling family/friends how special they are but to no avail. I feel they are missing out!! I am recently going through some medical issues and I am thankful for BTS to help me get through it all. Can't wait for your next reactions, keep them coming!!!
