    -i've been wanting to do this same process on my 2008 Ford Focus , drain & fill with Amsoil Signature Series Fuel-Efficient Transmission fluid (instead of motorcraft mercon lv ) , take for a spin , do this 2-3 times, then when it's ready for the filter km/miles wise , i'll just take it in to my mechanic. I've been watching fluid extractor videos online for transmission fluid, this is a great idea.

    I too have been using it for 3+ years...., and a lot since I got it. I have used it in Oil, Gear Oil, Power Steering, Brake Fluids and even as a Vacuum. It did leaked a bit and it was the " O'Ring " that was bad, I think... I put in another O'Ring and a bit thicker... It seems to do just fine now. NOTE: Within about 5 usage, I noticed the leaks. I changed the O'Ring and have not had a problem since. It's really useful for sure... Especially if you are trying to be clean!

    The tool is good , but I suggest to check always the quantity of oil you extract , you don't want to live a quarter or more of old motor oil , and from the transmission I think 3 quarters is not much of oil , usually inside the transmission take 6 o 7 quarter , I would start the car put it in gear and let it run for 2 minutes , you have better results to extract a few more quarters of a dirty oil

    On the extractor pump. In the transmission you have check balls that move around , I wonder if that causes them to move and any problems.
    In the torque converter there is alot of transmission fluid in there

    • @caddy200
      @caddy200 Před 11 měsíci +2

      This method is called a 'drain & fill', it removes about 40% of the transmission fluid. The torque converter & the inner workings of the transmission contain the other 60%,
      If you want to drain most of the old fluid out, you should use the 'drain & fill' method about 3 times with a few months in between each 'drain & fill'.

      If it’s bad i.e. brown,black or not red at all get as much out as you can,change the filter then fill it & run the car for a couple of days/week then extract the fluid and refill. Consider the cost of the extra fluid a bargain compared to paying garage labour. If the fluid is still fairly red you don’t need to change it a 2nd time.
