i want him in gta 6!
linopacoloco lol
Yes, I kind of was looking for a comment like this
linopacoloco walk by sir! Have a nice day..
7 years later, we are still waiting for Gta 6!
Now that would be cool if it ever comes out. I mean 7 years later and GTA 6 is still not out. It's because they're still making tons of money on GTA V online. Best comment I've read and it was the first LOL have a good day
“Help the economy, bail out those shoes!” 😂
Meeting a guy like that... Would make my day !
He's a Geyser of positive energy !
He's a better standup comedian , then a shoe shiner.
Much respect to those who give an honest day’s work. Salute Don!
I would be honored to have this man shine my shoes. I will be in New York this summer. I will be sure to pay him a visit.
Man you are absolutely right. I also own my own business after giving up that so called American dream. It is the independent entrepreneur that make this country tick and people like this are my only heros.
“I ain’t gotta bop you on the head on Friday” that’s classic!
This man has too much life in him to be stuck hidden away in some
cubicle.
Thank God he is out with the people bringing life and warmth to his fellow humans.
God bless you Sir!!
I’ll be coming into contact with him is the best part of some of these people’s day.
He's right its about freedom, thats happiness
Insults their shoes. Now pay me.
done is amazing - he is on my bucket list when i win the lottery !
No boss, best view in town, making some scratch, all the best Donnie 🏋️♂️🤸♂️🏋️♂️
Nothing but respect here my friend, keep up the awesome job 🙂🙂🙂
"Your shoes need love brother!" 🤣
He dresses down to make you think he's a poor sap, but at 45 pairs a day at five dollars a pair, this dude is bringing the doe home. 45pairs x 5dollars=225dollars x 365days=$82,125.00 This guy made it. No boss, no employees, gets to dress like a homeless person and pockets nearly all the profit. He's been doing this for over two decades and had 25% more customers prior to the economic down turn. This guy is a closet millionaire who enjoys fucking with the minds of all the sheep who think their fooling everyone with their Armani and base level Rolex. This man is a genius and is living the good life. Shoe shine man= real ass nigga
You are assuming he works EVERY day of the year. Even if he did, making 80k a year and living in NYC is faaarrr from a closet millionaire. He has kids too.. I completely believe him when he says he has nothing in the bank and lives modestly. I doubt he 'dresses down' for his day at work.
***** Right, but I dont think he pays a lot of taxes. Who could control that?
konatown5 "100k. That's poverty in NYC" Is that a joke?
konatown5 And how can this work economically? What are the people in New York producing that it is possible to gain wages which allow them to live?
Who gave you permission to say that word "nigga"?
we need more people like him.
Excellent sells man with honest living.
Actually, this is great movie material. You can make a film based on this character. 🎬
Hats-off to the hard-working man.
Down, boy. That's a to be continued 😭. Guy in the chair didnt understand it lol
Ignore the stigma, earning an honest living and as this guy is very sociable he can talk to customers to pass time.
If he was a comic he'd be bigger than Chappelle!!!
Freedom is everything
“Ferragamo “lmfao, no joke I’m wearing Salvatore Ferragamo shoes right now and I literally looked away from the video to look at my shoes. Yeah I need a shine
That's funny he's like I eat my kids get what they want and I ain't got to bop you on the head Friday LMAO
Maybe you didn't hear you've been gone a long time. I don't shine shoes anymore.
Everybody has story...fun to watch:)
Whatever happened to the old “snap and pop” shiners from my youth?
He has aged well!
Wow you think he wouldn´t earn so much as a shoe shine man but 60 customers per day and at least $5 per customer thats $300, it´s almost the double of what I earn per day as a car mechanic before income tax. If he is down at 30 in rough times then it is about as much as I earn before income tax. I should change business :)
Where do you live? He’s probably paying more more for being on that street corner per month than some people pay for rent in a year.
I can imagine how his job got a bit more difficult with those cursed smartphones.
You can't catch peoples' attention if they are busy being zombies. Red light and traffic can't even catch their attention.
Ok but saying “cursed smartphones” makes u sound like a karen or a boomer
So, the next time I'm in NY, I'll here this guy bustin' on my dress shoes and I'l know that I've found an experienced Shoe Shiner.
I think this is the fifth video I’ve watched of him today
God bless you
dobn i've known you so many years and i thinks this is great good luck man
Proud of you blackman I love my ppl N I love to see them making it happen I swear mydaddy can make a dollar out of 15 cents 😁
RIP Don
What?
Someday I'm from Canada someday I will come to New York the first thing I want to see doing the shoes I know it's a dumb reason I just want to see what's going on that's a reason I loved it and I want to see it in real life you're awesome keep it up and I'll try to bring some more than $5 I gave it to 50 everything you done for people just believe in me someday I will make it to New York and I hope you have a good one every day everywhere
Bro it's not dumb I am from India I just took a screen shot of the address where he shines daily a made n one day I will visit him and show the screenshot.....
Its awesome to love your job.
Just another story in the naked city
The type of dude not to make eye contact wit when you pass by
Who else watched this guy 9 years later
He said it, all I'm doin me,.
This is harassment. I wouldn't even walk past him ... I'd walk on the other side of the street.
Dude is funny
He's a car salesman....
Up sendrom Dave chapple ...
If he would put on 30s clothes and music he would earn triple.
3:33 😂
I get what he's saying about the freedom of the job but he's got no pension, no 401 by doin this. lol I mean is he gonna be doin this when he's 70 yrs old? lol it's a job for young people that need a job to get started. he just did it, liked it and stuck with it.
You don't know.
First off, he loves what he does.
Second, he's in N.Y. you don't think that he doesn't run into people who could give him advice on how to invest his money. To set himself up for when he is older.
Or maybe someone takes a liking to his personality and offers him a acting role or commercials.
Once again, he's in N.Y. in Manhattan of all places.
Bingo. You're thinking opportunity costs and delayed rewards. You will be successful because of that. I applaud the guy for his entrepreneurship, but you've gotta think about benefits. Also, his job has a growth ceiling and he's met it. Experience working for a company will allow you upward mobility.
"I ain't got a dollar in the bank" - that's a smart man
What happens when he is to old to shine shoes. and the rest of us are getting are well deserved S.S..
Genius salesman, but who pays to shine their shoes? I guess in NYC $5-$20 is like $1-4 because of the cost of living? Am I the only one too cheap to pay someone for that? Just buy matte shoes that don’t need to be shined.
Is he still around
Am sure he makes over 40k
I don't have a dollar in the bank....... Right 😉🙃
You got major salt damage in your shoes... lol.. the shoes need love brother.
apostrophe does count...
1,000 a week ? 4 grand a month ? not a bad gig
+hadd13 True. Depending on where he lives. If he lives in the city. He broke
David chapel brother
Are they part of a union?
no
When I was a kid back in the 1950s and 60s there were shoe shine stands everywhere in the business areas of New York City. It was a full time job for a lot of people. Sneakers killed the industry.
does he have his own channel?
No he doesn't. But great idea
1000$ over there is like a clerk's pay (maybe less than that) for a month here... I will rather work in this man's place than being in that stupid cubicle for the rest of my life...
so this guy back in 2012 was running that business for over 20 years .... then there are another 3 videos about the same guy ... one of 2017 and another one from 2018 , and in the one from 2018 they say is been doing in from almost 17 years ... so either this guy go back in tome .... or the reporter failed badly ....
too aggressive. i'd keep walking.
are you from nyc? that's not aggressive at all
he should at least invest in a professional sign
I've seen a lot better shoe shiners then this guy and doesn't put much products in the shoes. He good with his mouth and not shining.
I wonder that too... He's volume business. He'll turn and burn customers. That's why he's on the curb to catch customers as fast as he can. I don't think he'll be a good shiner because he rushes.
Habla mucho y muestra poco su trabajo.. no me agrada
