@@TheGameVerse I guess people these days can't handle gameplay with depth and complexity with actually thinking ahead,resource management and so on.
This format imo is heavily skill based and you really need to think through every play.
Also wish we had these kind of stores and content in isreal :(
@@oshersharaby if you like flipping a bunch of coins go ahead and play base-neo, imo the best formats are the EX and gen 4. Everything before those is to flip-heavy for me and everything later (besides HGSS but that's a different story) is just big basics with almost no cool set-up based decks and insane power creep

Here in Chile have a very strong community. We will hold a national championship this november. We play base to neo format (base-gym-neo-promo-southerisland) I love this game and also love this channel. Keep doing more videos like this (Y)

ALSO FYI: we played with Slowking banned since it is originally mistranslated. It is a much more interesting format without slowking!
ALSO ALSO: NO IDEA what was going on with my camera at the end of the vlog there. thing seems to have gone completely haywire and the footage got super choppy looking. no idea what the issue is with that but if it continues i'm going to have to give GoPro a call!! >:(

we actually talked to him a bunch about the tournament and he had a lot of input! I am sure he will show up to a tournament we host eventually - he considered coming to this one!

Funny to look back playing the format before this. I was THE ONLY pokédadult in the region. I even made the news paper and at the ripe old age of 31 I taught those whipper snappers a lesson in doing the wave I tell ya. 👴🙌
Now all of those former ten year olds are making the market even bigger than before. I sold all of my old cards in order to start playing with my granddaughter back in 2016. I was known as "Charizard guy" because I had an ultra pro sleeve of 9 base set 'zards on page 1 of my binder lol.
After 20 years of cold storage I may have benefited greatly from just a couple more. Seeing the price of shadowless and first edition cards go through the roof is crazy.

Thanks for making all the oldschool pokemon tcg content. Base - Skyridge for the full WotC roster of sets is my favorite oldschool format. Really weird stuff goes on there.

This format you guys was definitely more balanced than the one I played 19 years ago! Slowking was everywhere!! Lol Everyone had to have one!! And I wish there was a restriction for it to be used in decks but to think again; I was only 11 or 12, and barely knew about strategies. At the time, I was using Light Golduck/Dark Golduck/Slowking variant.
I wish there was an unlimited format with a ban/restriction list but then it wouldn't be Unlimited anymore wouldn't it? Lol

Hey Andrew. I only live a few hours away from full grip and have been wanting to get into a retro format. Will future tournaments still be the same base-neo format or will all tournaments be a different retro format?

I love seeing these classic formats played, maybe it reminds me of the game I could have played. I was so young when it all began and definitely would have been terrible at any tournaments, lol.
