Quick Catch: OT-1 Rail Salvage Train Rolls through Hampden -11/30/23

On November 30, 2023, I got out of work and got word that OT-1 was fast approaching on their way west between Old Town and Northern Maine Junction. Having cleared the 55 a few minutes prior, I decided to head over to Route 202 in Hampden to wait for them. As golden light quickly faded, a veteran 315 rounded the bend at 25 mph with 12 loads of jointed rail in tow. It was a quick catch, but it was still a neat catch with one of the last Guilford GP40's leading a salvage train marking the "end" of the Keag line rehab, with the salvage train in itself going faster through this area than in over a decade.
