- This blouse design was not thought out. 🤦 I wanted to try and rescue it and upcycle the embroidery into something better. Now I have a statement belt and cute blouse!
What do you think of this thrift flip?

I love how you turned the blouse into two items. The embroidery on the sleeve is beautiful and your cover up at the seam on the belt blend in perfectly. The bee is cute!
Thanks!
oh wow I LOVED this! The belt especially but it's amazing how much better the top looked with those couple of modifications
A stunning transformation - two much more wearable pieces!
Wow what a difference!!!! Great job thanks for the inspiration
I have a shirt with arm embroidery that also doesn't work for the same reasons!!!!! This is very inspirational as I love embroidery and want to preserve it but I'm just not wearing it as it is, thanks for the new idea!!
Love both your new garments, especially the blouse! I actually really like how the arm opening comes in a little, I think it looks great! And the piping gives such a lovely contrast to the white blouse
I love your thrifted upcycle videos! Great makeover, and I love the corset belt especially. I agree about changing to a lace-up back, that will add the perfect touch. Your embroidery is lovely and blends in perfectly with the existing design. 5-stars!!!
Love this and the embroidery you did matched perfectly. I am just starting to learn embroidery so I know how difficult it is. I had some bad advice once and it put me off trying embroider. Xxx
That turned out so well! I also like the shape of the corset belt, with the wider side parts. It's different, then what one usually sees and very flattering!
OMG I wish I had the skills to do the same! It looks absolutely gorgeous!
Wow! You created two beautiful pieces. I'd love an update if you change anything else.
I enjoyed watching this so much, thank you! I also thought your embroidery additions were do beautiful, especially the bee! 🐝
Ummm you KILLED IT! Love the creativity and how they turned out!
Thank you!
I love this
That's freaking rad!
I love your embroidered bee 🐝 It turned out perfect!
Amazing!!! You're an embroidery wizard!
Thanks! I'm still learning and practicing, but that's very nice to hear ❤️
Awesome!!!
So cool hearing your ideas to tweak the design after you tried on your belt!
Beautiful! ❤
The bee is SO cute!! And blends in perfectly
Thanks! 😊
I love that you repurposed those sleeves into a belt! Genius. Can we talk about the long sleeved green dress you paired it with?? Can you give me info where to find that beauty?
💕
Absolutely! It's one of my favorite Son de Flor dresses, they don't make that exact style anymore but their Carmen dress (sondeflor.com/collections/carmen-dresses/?a=verenaerin) is a very similar cut - just with a more open neckline.
Cute
I love THIS kinda content! I have a project myself to transform a dress made out of swim fabric into… swimwear 😂 plenty for a cropped rashguard and the pattern is so gorgeous, reminiscent of african batik. The fabric type just wasn’t appropriate for a maxi dress with ruché over the bust.
Most upcycling I’ve seen is kinda bleh, it looks a lot like… well, upcycling! And the challenge should be to make it look like it was intended to look like this and not made from old pieces.
So your project is really well done even tough there is still a bit of adjustments to be done.
I do like the elastic in the sleeves though, the inward curves soften your shoulders.
Love that! There is so much swim fabric used in everyday fashion these days.
I appreciate your "Alternatives to Everlane" blogpost!
It looks great. The original design looked very old fashioned. Your design gave it a more southern cottage look
So cute!!! And inspiring. Also i love the brown gingham dress as well. Did you sew that? I really want to start sewing but im scaring to begin
I got it from NotPerfectLinen BUT it's not a hard design to sew! This free/PWYC pattern (peppermintmag.com/sewing-school/bardondress/) is pretty similar, you could just removed the bottom tier and make the skirt pieces longer. With that said though the best way to build confidence with starting to sew is to work on a smaller project first - a tote bag, throw pillow case, or apron are generally really good first projects to gain some experience before making a garment. 💚
Thank you so much for the info! I will try to start small before making a complicated dress. Dumb as it sounds, ive always been scared of the sewing machine. They put the fear into us in school growing up haha.
I just discovered your channel. Do you have a video on non toxic bed frames and dressers?
pretty

You should shave your head again
