    So these days stock 400 hp and 350 tq and 4.5 second 0-60 isn't considered high performance. Interesting.

      He's referring to the transmission. The power is there, but the transmission holds holds car back which makes it not a true sports car.

    Love mine. I agree about the trans and tires. Run flats are only a good idea for the maker, not the owner. Ive split 3 sidewalls with Infiniti runflats on 2 cars. i went with Michelin pilot sports, regular rubber, slightly wider and slightly taller profile. Transformed the car. As far as the trans, I keep it in manual 90% of the time. I've also beaten an M4 from a roll (he might have had a bad shift). No engine mods, just a catback, which greatly improved the sound. The stock exhaust system is almost as quiet as an electric. With a true manual this car would be amazing.

    This review is pretty spot on. I have a q50 red sport and my biggest complaint is the transmission. The shifts aren’t the greatest and I feel like it gear hunts a lot. But like you said for the money I really think it’s in a class by itself once you do the necessary mods . Also, tell your client he’s really missing a lot of power and performance having a tune without downpipes and a catback exhaust .... Good vid my friend 💯

    @StormAutoAdventures Před 3 lety +7

    I had an upgraded Level 10 Bulletproof 7 speed auto transmission in my Q50 before it was totaled after hitting a 90+ pound deer at 55 mph. This transmission can handle any modifications you do to the Q50/Q60.

    What a gorgeous car. If only it came from the factory with better tires, it would've received much better reviews. Very first mod I put on my AWD Q60 was those Michelin PS 4Ss and the car feel completely different, very grippy and a blast to drive.

    As a proud owner of a 2013 G37x Sedan, I have to be honest and say, I LOVE the Q's looks ( especially the Coupe ), the more sophisticated interior and that pretty Grill. I am NOT however, inclined to ever buy one for the simple fact that Infinity ruined that wonderful steering feel by switching to that electric rack. I know that it's not a big deal for some of you, but after driving/owning old school BMW's, Porsche 944s, Alfas and Fiats, I just can't compromise and pretend that the numb steering isn't a deal-breaker. Infinity was SO close to "perfection" on this Model ...

    Love this review, you're making me love my 2018 Q50 RS more...this car is really not set up right from the factory as you said. I have a love/hate relationship with mine lol. But I'm under full warranty until 2026 so I haven't started to modify it yet. I think I may just yolo into it and keep my fingers crossed that the dealer doesn't deny any warranty coverage. Couple questions - I have heard you can't lower the AWD models but this one is lowered so it seems there is a right and a wrong way to do it. Any advice on that? Mine feels and looks like it stands at least an inch too high and it would look so much better if it was lower to the ground. Also the ride already feels bouncy and brittle with the standard 19"'ers but you seem to think the ride is good on 20's...it's just not as well sorted as my old F30 335i M Sport was...so I worry that if I do lower it the ride will be worse. Would love to hear your opinion. Thanks for the great video.

    • @aeroman5239
      @aeroman5239 Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, you can lower the AWD. I did with my '17 Q60S w/RS-R Best*I Active C/Os (MSRP $2899), which will retain the electronic dampening. In addition, SPL Parts markets their suspension components through Infiniti Motorsports - check Infiniti of Nashua (NH) website. My Q is lowered 1" - a modest drop, but I didn't want any issues with the stress on the half-shafts, which is where the "can't lower the AWD" may have falsely come from.

    Concept Z performance manual swapped one as well as Nismo. There's a 800 hp + blown q50 by Q50sc. AMS performance has a 9 second q60. The platform has come a long way and with the new modular direct injectors released by NostrumHp a lot of hearts are going to be broken.

    Great review. Unfortunately there is no front sway bar made for the AWD just a rear bar. You can eliminate the wheel hop in the rear with a set of Z1 subframe collars. These cars can be absolute monsters with a turbo upgrade, 600whp/wtq easily. I echo the feelings about the trans. They suck! You can bump up line pressure in the tune to slam gears a bit better but that's it unless you go with a built trans. There's a couple of people that have done the manual swap. You can find their videos on CZcams.

      I just rented one and I own a 2020 AWD Stinger.This cars gearbox even in sport is not as fast to shift--it is more of a GT cruiser then an all out sports car.My Stinger is lower--faster and handles better.The engine is also higher rPM and thirstier then my stinger by almost 5 mpg--I get 29 (hwy) in my Stinger and got 25.5 in the q60.The q60 feels like an A5 with more power while my stinger feelsl lke an RS5 with slightly less power. The AWD system from my perspective is also geared for more safety and mine(q60 rented) had a front detection warning that was tapping the brakes when I would gain speed and catch up to someone and pass--I do the same in my stinger with a similiar system and it has never gone on and in one trip the q60s went on 3 times.The diffrence might be that my new Stinger has "enhanced shift logic" and "AWD software tweaks" to make new Stingers quicker--I also have an exhaust and a KIA comp reset to take advantage.Like he said the car is actually great but needs a diffrent tranny and better shift logic improvements--I also believe it develops its torque later then a stinger.Stinger engine is a GDI and feels much more crisp and instant power.It is more comfortable then my stinger on long trips--but to get the same speed in this would take a lot more aftermarket parts and the car is already about 15k more then a stinger model to model.My stinger was 36k for an AWD GT 3.3--q60 red sport AWD are 53k plus--almost 20k diffrence--best bet is get one used so you have money to mod it--or get a stinger if you want something out of the factory geared more towards performance.I also dragged my stinger and ran a 4.27 to 60 with no launc control--just powerbraked it--q60 times are 4.5 to 4.7 and 1/4 mile is a few tenths slower also.

    The only thing holding me back from buying this car is the infotainment system. It's pretty garbage. Wish it was better in this car. And maybe the Bose speakers. I haven't had the chance to listen to the Bose speakers but Bose usually disappoints in car systems.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Před 3 lety

      yeah the tech in these cars is like 15 years behind unfortunately but this is why they lease so cheap. I hope Infiniti revamps these cars ASAP because they are missing the market segment these days

    My beater is 2018Q50 RS- RSR springs. Never again would I lower this car. My car has the adaptive suspension and bouncing all over the Road. I also owned a 2017 Q 50 red sport a 2013 Infiniti IPL. I would never buy Infiniti again I have graduated over to Lexus and BMW and the difference is night and day just be warned that Nissan is thinking to rebrand Infiniti to what they call Nissan-plus because Infiniti is losing so much money they may not be around in the next 24 months or so. they shot themselves in the foot with the Q50 and Q60 meaning that the technology was outdated when they built a car they put the engine into an old platform and paired it to a crappy transmission. But again if you want something cheap that’s going to outperform the average car on the road and this is probably a good car for you but if you value quality and reliability over engine performance I will go with the Lexus coupe the RC coupe it may not be as powerful but the quality Bill construction smoothness response everything about that car blows away the Q 60 coupe

      @autofanaticcars  Před 4 lety +1

      thanks for sharing i was expecting this car to bounce like crazy and it really feels balanced and nice as the video shows. I still feel Infiniti is in a bad position as a brand and they may not be around for much longer.

      Auto Fanatic Yes absolutely- I feel bad as I have own many Infinitis - I have to say my Fav was my 2013 IPL 6MT. I put almost 70k miles on it and not one issue. Lowered on swift springs and H&R 20mm spacers on stock wheels from day one.
