As a retired engineer I appreciate a simple, neat design and I would call it a spigot. I agree that knurling could be a big improvement 👍

You could take that adaptor to a local machine shop and ask them to put a knurled finish on it which would then give your camera clamp something to grip. It should only take 5-10 minutes to do the knurling.

Just come across this channel, I've got the same mount which I've still to install. Look forward to having a look through your videos :)

Excellent video! What rachet do you use for the 6 pointed screw on the handlebar?

Thank you 😊 It’s a Torx driver. Can’t remember which size.

Hello. CZcams dropped one of your touring videos into my recommend list. Enjoyed watching the 2 latest videos through France. I decided to check your channel and discovered this video. I have done something similar on my RT to mount an action camera. The difference is, I purchased my handlebar mount bolt from a different manufacturer but it functions similarly. The footage quality from the Insta 360 camera in my eyes is very good and stabilized well. Can you please tell me or provide a link to the claw mount you're using if you are satisfied with it and recommend it?
Thanks in advance. Ride safe. Cheers. 🍻

Thanks for the views 😊 I have a couple of claw mounts, the better of the two has been this one by OsoPro: amzn.to/3urzXtl
I have found that the plastic screw-to-GoPro adapter is no good and can easily crack. I bought some aluminium ones from Smatree, which have been great: amzn.to/3MMB25m

Looking through these on my Amazon order history and got a similar item recommended to me that is made by Smallrig - a brand I know and trust for camera accessories. I just bought one, so I'll try that and see if it's a bit easier to tighten up. Link here: amzn.to/47B6XxF

I find my nose gets itchyjust as I am merging with traffic on a motorway on a trip that will last an hour or more. Otherwise it never gets itchy.

Is 19nm the right torque for that bolt? I think an m10 should be tighter (according to BMW), but I can find no specs at all for that specific bolt

I struggled to find the official number, but quite a few forum posts said 19. It hasn't come loose and I've done a few thousand miles with it since 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@CGRidesMotorcycles I found 30nm in the Wunderlich instructions for their equivalent product. I used 30nm on my own bike.
      Great job!
