It’s actually kind of spooky with how he’s just glaring into the camera like that.
I really like how far Dedede's come from being a villainous monarch to a heroic king who puts his subjects before himself.

he went from sacrificing his most loyal waddle to helping a waddle he probably never knew like the snap of his fingers
he's also grown immensely in power.
the boss fights only show him using his power, and the bosses using him showed that he has a lot more up his sleeve than he uses to fight kirby.
the boss fights involving copies of him, like the dedede clones in planet robobot also show him having some sort of new gimmick, leading me to believe he holds back during kirby's clashes, despite kirby being much stronger than anything else in his universe
He really stood against a horde of wild animals just so kirby and the waddle dees could escape, what a legend

At 2:56, Dedede is struggling to get the boar mask off, implying his will to avoid being manipulated is growing stronger (even though he failed to get it off but still)
Which is HUGE improvement since Star Allies literally had his curiosity kill the cat just by looking at a fuckin Jamba Heart and effortlessly fall under control.

Underrated thing here is how good the arena camerawork is. The thing moves around almost constantly but never in a way you can’t predict and never in a way that’s especially noticeable.

Dedede, without fear, ran back to save a lone waddle dee out of billions. This is why I love that penguin and why he deserves to be my main in any game I can use him. Even a Kirby RPG, he would be on the team no matter what. Even if it means modding (Okay not really, but we'd all go the mile for the king)

Before his 2nd fight he actually struggled to get the mask off him so he clearly improved since he succumbed to staring down a fuckin Jamba Heart
He's the first bottleneck to any invasion attempt. For every one that manages to grab him, there are probably a dozen others that crashed and burned at his gate.

I really like this design, the last one looked like it was an attempt at a goofy design, this goes all the way and I love him.
For the uninitiated entering the Kirby series with Forgotten Land, players are going to be led to believe that King Dedede is the main antagonist and the mastermind behind all the Waddle Dee kidnappings. Of course, for everyone else who's played a Kirby game will immediately know that that's not the case and figure out this is out of character for the king.

I can't help but notice how chinichi shimomura games affect this one，mostly in its aesthetics，and one of the most clear examples of this for me is the king dedede design，you notice it is very very similar to the designs in kirby dreamland 3 and kirby 64

I 100%'d the game on the hardest difficulty. These boss fights were absolute blasts, it was especially fun dodgerolling out of the hammers.

When the cutscene of him sacrificing himself came by at first I was like “NOOO” then I remember he fights Kirby regularly who’s a million times stronger than a horde of animals so I just laughed at myself for being stupid
I'm just saying, there should be a minigame mode where you play as King Dedede. Keep the battlefield from Forgo Dedede, and just let then mini game be King Dedede, with his high health and attack power, fighting against the Beast Pack Horde. Seriously, all you have to do it make a moveset for King Dedede. Keep the arena, the models for all the characters, and maybe throw in a boss rush against Gorimondo, Clawroline, and Sillydillo. It makes sense for them to show up, since all of them were already in Rengar. You can even consider at some point in the fight, giving King Dedede his mask and second hammer. That's asking a bit much to be fair, but how cool would it be?
Phantom Forgo Dedede was such a fun boss fight.

His attack with a dash should be a dash uppercut(optional to be followed by a slam down or his down smash, and like he plays as a player he should do more of the down-attack that makes his hammer rotation when he jumps)
