    Even as a Liverpool supporter, I still like most of the managers/coaches in EPL, Arteta, Jose, Ancelotti are going to achieve success for sure. It's just the EPL fan base are highly critical of anything that happens and I am kinda disgusted by it. Missed an easy win - sack him, he doesn't know how to coach a team - is ridiculous. Give them time, at least 2 proper seasons, accounting for injuries and circumstances that are beyond managers.

    Liverpool have lost a massive player. United and Chelsea are still in semi-crisis mode. The initiative is back to City. We really will never have a better opportunity to challenge for the title. What worries me the most is that Jose treats this year as a transition season in which he tries and convert the team into his image with an eye on next year. We saw this at West Ham, when he told the team to sit back and absorb the pressure - this wasn't out of necessity, as he probably knew we could score more if we continued the same gameplan. But he was doing it to try and ingrain in them that sort of discipline (being able to take a beating and come out of it) for the future. Ironically, the team collapsed precisely because of his move, showing just how much work there is to go before we become that kind of side.
    So in that adaptation process, we're going to drop points like we did at West Ham, and if we don't go for it this year I fear we may never have the chance to challenge again. Moreover, I have serious doubts about whether our current personnel are even capable of replicating the defensive discipline of his Inter and Chelsea sides, I think they're far more reminiscent of his RM side with their pressing and speed on the counter. I hope he relinquishes some of his natural pragmatic tendencies and tries to get all of Bale, Son, Moura/Lamela on the pitch behind Kane, and put Bale through the middle where he once performed best. That I think will be our secret ingredient. Finally, a reliance on Winks will kills us. He doesn't offer extra protection if you're winning, he doesn't offer drive if you're losing or drawing. He's a good backup, but nothing more.
    Third should realistically be our finishing position and anything less than fourth will undoubtedly be a failure, for the first time on record we have a better team on paper than Chelsea and United.

    • @jean-paulwalters8408
      @jean-paulwalters8408 Před 3 lety

      You may have a better attack, but Man United & Chelsea have better midfielders, De Geabis still better than Lloris, and Chelsea's new keeper (as well as being french, could compete against Lloris, for the France no.1 shirt, defensively all 3 teams have frailties, but Telles & maybe Chilwell are more experienced and arguably better than Reguilon, AWB and young Reece James are no push overs, and in Wan's case is probably better than Aurier & Doherty, the cental odf defence, I think is a problem for all the 3 teams, but Tottenham have a proven coach in Jose, Ole & Lampard are probably too inexperienced to sort out Man United's defence and probably both need new CB's next transfer window, weather it's the summer, or in January

    • @os17312
      @os17312 Před 3 lety

      @@jean-paulwalters8408 I agree with a lot of that. I rate AWB hugely (though Doherty has some really good technique and combination play, but AWB is a proper solid RB) and James too, but I think any relative advantage at RB and LB doesn't compensate for CB. Although Alderweireld isn't what he once was I think most would still have him and Sanchez over Chelsea and United's pairings. So overall we're better in defence I'd say.
      As for central midfield, I rate McTominay hugely, always stabilises United when he plays and such a solid player (and really underrated, I think if he was foreign or English he would be a regular), and then you have Pogba's huge talent but poor tactical discipline. They have huge depth of course in that area and VDB looks sharp. Kante and Kovacic should be amongst the top defensive midfielders in the league, but for whatever reason they haven't been performing to that standard (perhaps it's the defence behind them that makes them look deficient and/or Lampard's tactics). Jorginho is hit and miss. So yes Chelsea and United on paper have more established choices in central midfield, but on form I don't think they could be said to be so superior to Hoiberg, Lo Celso and N'dombele (with Alli as backup).
      In attacking midfield, I think we've clearly got the more established record in Son, Bale (if he's still got it) and Moura. Rashford, Fernandes and Greenwood are good and can match you as an equal threat in a pumped-up face-off, but haven't hit their stride as a unit long term yet. There's also the issue that United's best wingers aren't wingers. Rashford's done well but I don't know if it's just me, I always feel he could be more. He's neither a natural left winger nor is he a number nine. He's a second striker in an age where teams no longer play them. Greenwood has huge potential but again, is a second striker asked to play as a winger, which I think will be an issue long term (Son, Pulisic and Moura by contrast are natural wide forwards). Chelsea's additions in Havertz and Ziyech are also talented but are still relatively untested, but Pulisic is absolute quality.
      So on the balance of all that I think we do have a better team on paper probably for the first time, and with a more experienced manager (regardless of my suspicions of him) - followed by United and then Chelsea. I think United when they're pumped up could match us in a direct match, but their defence is letting them down, the Pogba issue is forcing them to have no stability in central midfield, and they will sooner or later face the problem of having two strikers as wingers. A 4-4-2 diamond probably is their best solution for a lot of these problems, but it comes with its own issues (lack of width and a lot being asked of the full backs). Chelsea still have a lot to prove.

    English people when it’s about Madrid, it’s always hate. Big mad that the biggest club in the world ain’t from England.

      Because you now how every English person thinks? Talking rubbish. Barcelona fans just love Madrid right? Any team in any sport that has decades of success is always gonna get hate from some sections of people. No need to label an entire country.

      @@Relentlesscal It facts that English people are jealous of the success of a spanish club. Just look at social media were English men compare Liverpool to Real Madrid. How delusional is that comparison ?

      @Oisin The biggest is Real Madrid and the others come after. Real Madrid have the most CL titles and nobody is even close, that tells you that they are the biggest club in Europe. And there isn’t a club in South America, Asia or Africa that is bigger than Madrid is it ? So what tells you that the clubs that you mentioned are even close to Madrid ? Real Madrid went clear like 7 years ago and has now after the latest CL success went even more clear.

    • @2active4u
      @2active4u Před 3 lety

      @Oisin Do you hear yourself and how delusional you sound to even compare these teams with Madrid and even say that some of them are bigger. Real Madrid are clear and the stats and facts speak for themselves, it’s not even a question.
