    I watched all the vids of the guy installing the LS head on the 351w. He only did it because there were people that said they had done it 10 years ago. It was alot of work including blocking water passages and machining pushrod holes. It made 400 on engine and blew up on boost at 975hp. A must watch vid as the rod blew out the side of the block and hit the dyno window..
    Thanks For the great vids

      It made 975 and didn't come a part tell they tried running 27+ on Boost. If they would have left it alone at 20 lbs it probably never would have came apart. But your right its still really cool to watch it blow lol

    Good stuff! I'd be curious to see your take on the high port vs the R head. Same CNC intake runner program. I went with the R head for my n/a big bore 347 and took some flak for not going with the high port. I'm happy with the results regardless.

      lots of people don't know that the bore spacing for the small block Ford Was adapted in 1954 for the Y block and used For every small block From the 239 Y block to the 221 and even the 400. Shelby American Modified 292 Y block Cranks to build Stroker 289 engines for There racing Cobras!

  • @itseithergonnaworkoritaint7852

    Sbc is 4.400" bore spacing and the sbf has a 4.380" bore spacing.
    So they're within .020" of each other. But it's not that simple, here's why;
    At the center 2 cylinders are each .010" off on the left and .010" off on the right. Which is close enough for those 2 cylinders but as you work you way out from the center the farther off they are because for the end cylinders you add the .010" to the .020" difference the bore centers are and now the end cylinders are. 030" off.
    .030" can be a lot if the bores are on the larger size for that platform and if the chambers on the heads are on the wider side. If that's the case then the head gaskets may not seal?
    Anyway, great video, if anything you cut your videos off to short. Should be at least 30 minutes for this kind of cool content.

      @WeingartnerRacing  Před 3 lety +1

    My TFS Hi-Ports (porters head) are 240's... with a 2.10 int. and 1.60 exh. on a conservative SF 600, with an exh. pipe, 4.125 bore, my cam is right at 700 lift with the lash figured... I'm more impressed with the excellent mid-lift #'s and at .700" 355 int. and 273 exh... even with a 2.10 valve, the flow isn't going to make up the more than 10% loss from the #'s my 240's flow on a conservative bench.
    These 240 heads in the video flow #'s are way down for even Hi-Port 225's

      If the rules called for inline valve high ports make sense. However the TW heads the original and larger heads rotate the valves in the bore for a more direct line of sight and improved valve angles which don't shroud as much. A superior combustion chamber design. They get more low an mid lift flow than inline heads which have similar peak flow numbers. On the dynos the TW's always made more torque and power than comparable inline valve heads.

    Eric, I am not very wealthy, I'm a disabled veteran, I have a 351w and I am considering trying Speedmaster 175cc heads that go for around $600 or Speedmaster 210cc heads that come as a top end kit on ebay with an intake, rockers and valve covers for $1,165 have you ever looked at them or tested them? If money wasn't as tight I'd probably got with TFS 11R 190cc or 205cc heads which would work on either a stock displacement 351, a 393w a friend of mine is selling or a 393/408/418/427/434w I might build later. Also have you ever seen anyone make a 434w with 4.030" bore and a 4.25" stroke in a stock block using a 331 piston, 6.2 rod and 4.25" crank, from what I have gathered block clearancing is necessary and a small base circle cam. It seems like it wouldn't cost much different than the other displacements and get as much TQ as possible for my F250 that I want to run with a ZF-5 S47 with a long travel suspension as a homemade Pre-Runner rig. I have noticed that those 351w engines make the most power with a single plane intake and a carb than all but the most expensive EFI intakes like a Hi-ram or injectors in a single plane with a 4150 4 hole throttle body or an elbow with a throttle body. The mustang style intakes seem like a huge bottle neck and proper EFI control like Holley terminator or sniper is big money over a carb.

    The Hi Port is king daddy of 20* inline SBF heads, and has been since the old Wil-Burt and KPI days, nothing else compares. The old Canfield heads were a close second in both flow and performance, the casting quality just wasn't quite as good as the TFS.

    I just stumbled across your video when you were talking about David Frieburger lol. Yes, he can be a shit bag to Dulcich for sure and he is very annoying. Anyways, I have the Trick Flow Cleveland 225cc cnc heads. I bought them in 2012 from Total Engine Airflow.
    1st question- have you ever reviewed or flowed these heads? 2nd - some say T.E.A. fudge their flow numbers by leaving the spark plug out. Have you ever flowed any T.E.A heads and compared their advertised numbers to yours? I know flow bench to flow bench the numbers will slightly vary but I was just curious.
