In this video, I show a very common problem I have been seeing on the iPhone 12 series phones; a broken vdd_boost coil. After identifying and fixing that problem, I also show the procedure for reballing and rejoining the two motherboard halves.

great work bud! love the video and explanation!
Good job Aaron!
Good job and diagnosis!
Hello Aaron, watching your video I understand a difficulty I have, so just to remind you you can use an old phone to change the camera on obs, the best and easiest to use is Deckboard
Good job, love them lose coils.
Great work Aaron! what size of replacement coil did you use?
Hi Aaron
Great video, I have exactly same problem with power consumption on iPhone 12 min but coils are good and solid. No shorts. What else might be the problem?
Hello, Your videos are filled with gems and have helped with my confidence. I Split my first iphone 12 (practice phone) and 12 mini yesterday and today and it mostly went great. I burnt a LCD IC on the IPhone mini when doing a screen change. Should be an easy fix...
On the iphone 12 Pro Or ProMax, whichever has the antenna soldered onto the back. Have you ever had that antenna unsolder when splitting the boards?
Nope, I have never seen that happen! But I mainly work with data recovery so sometimes I tear that cable intentionally rather then remove the battery from housing.
great job master
Thanks for watching!
How many degrees do you use and what air flow for reballing interposer
Hey Aaron I used to fix phones and other stuff for friends and family as a hobby. I never looked at to sandwich boards before and got me wonder, don't you need to replace that thermal paste before rejoining the boards or you just skipped that part on the video?
Yes, best practice is to replace the thermal paste. www.tcrscircuit.repair/carbon-black
Hey Aaron I was wondering what method you use to remove the shield over the pmic? Is hot air a bit risky due to higher melt solder or is it easy on the 12?
I just use wire cutters to pull off those shields. That is also a little risky because there are a lot of glass ics that can be broken, so you have to be extra careful. Heat probably works too, but I haven't tried it.
U can use small cutter those shield are not hard to get off
