I kinda don’t see his point about Russia snd corruption. Corruption is everywhere. And i am curious if he was talking about big cities. Life in a city is not the same as life in a country, everywhere.

Corruption is everywhere, but there are places in the world in which it is far more prevalent and far more open. Indeed, there are countries in which bribery of government officials is just a normal part of doing business (this is the case in China - if you want to get the permits you need, a bribe most likely required and business owners expect it as a necessary expense).
Russia is also at that very high level of corruption that really surpasses anything in the West by leaps and bounds. Even with all of the shady dealings we see in the US, for example, we would never expect for the commander of a US military depot to be selling parts yanked out of the tanks in their inventory or live munitions like hand grenades. Military equipment sometimes gets smuggled off of bases and sold privately in the US, but it's rare, and it's a really big deal when it happens. In Russia, it's neither rare nor a big deal. It's commonplace, and people know that it's going on. That's actually one of the problems Russia is having in the war in Ukraine - their equipment stockpiles have been eroded by people selling things on the black market and/or misappropriating funds (ie. The Colonel was supposed to give his men new high-quality body armor, but he instead got them cheap knock-offs from China and pocketed the difference to help pay for his dacha in the countryside).
So... yeah... corruption is everywhere, but, in some places, it's on a whole different level.

His explanation of how Eastern Europeans are is how I found the French in the countryside when I lived there. Wonderful people!

Dude literally said “they’re ordinary people with not a lot of aspirations or complexity”. He was just using a house analogy to describe differences between American and Russian socialization.

So I have this idea that the pursuit of all the material things AND all the Events and clubs our kids are supposed to be involved in, which also cost money, lead Americans to be filled with anxiety. The stress of working more to pay for everything keeps us from being able to relax. A poor nation would naturally be a slower environment, which in my opinion leads to more relaxed, more pleasant people.
