Take care!
I'm glad someone is reacting to Roy Clark playing something other than Malaguena.
WOW you ain't to shabby yourself. Obviously with a LITTLE practice dare I say another Roy Clark!! just WOW!!! I am continuously amazed at what the human system is capable of.
Thank you so much! haha, I wish I was half as good!
Could be but improvisation while playing requires particular mind set. LOL! Roy's mind set is,,, well,,, particular to the max.
I love seeing guitarists listening to Roy. You folks know how hard it is to do what he does and you guys love it! Thank you!
He is amazing! Thanks for watching! 👍
The last lick Roy plays, his right hand gives away his banjo background.... he was, and still is, an absolute guitar master...
Yeah, it looks effortless
This probably was 1963. I remember watching this when it was on TV ... pre Beatles for sure. The next day my dad hit several record stores trying to buy the album, The Lightning Fingers of Roy Clark. SOLD OUT! He came home with a scratched up demo album with no sleeve-jacket. I still have that jacket-less record. His performance that night was talked about at school the next day. I was 9 years old then, a 4th grader, I'll never forget it.
Great reaction and really great playing too. You were really able to pick up what he was doing very quickly. You have an amazing ear for music. You should definitely check out more Roy Clark.
Thank you! Yeah, I will do that
Roy Clark could play anything with strings. He was one of a kind. You're pretty good, yourself! Check out Roy's Malaguena from a t.v. show, The Odd Couple.
He was really great indeed. Thank you! I will put it on my to do-list! Merry Christmas!
I'm impressed that anyone can pickup after Roy so easily, you are talented.
Did well for the first time! Keep up the good playing! Love Roy Clark
Roy is the best guitar player we've ever seen, on this side of the pond.
Roy is the best to do it on any side of any pond. Kills me how he rarely enters such conversations. People think of him as a banjo player. If it had strings he was awesome
Great job of picking it up so quickly....good ears...!
Thank you!
Roy also played Banjo and Mandolin that is where his technique comes from.
Oh, he also played the Fiddle and just about anything with strings.
Nice! I need to check that out!
Hey you followed right along Erik-Oskar....good playing and your guitar has a pure/clean sound. Very resonant and crisp. Ol Roy Clark was one of a kind self-taught and brilliant on several instruments.
Thank you! Clean tone with some slapback delay is the way to go! Roy is really great!
Roy Clark is one of the guitar gods
You, sir, are a formidable guitarist yourself. If that's the first time you listened to that recording, and it's not your principal genre, I'm impressed.
Thank you! I’ve heard it before but never played it. It’s easier when you can see what he is playing in the video haha
Wow, you are really good at guitar yourself! Very nice!
Thank you!
Wow! Enjoyed your reaction and your amazing playing! One of the best reactions I've seen on Roy Clark!!
Thank you! 🙏
You forgot to show us the tap dance steps.
Yes. I will add that when I know how to play this song
Thank you for demystifying Roy's work!
Enjoyable!
This gentleman is really talented. Picks up Roy's playing very well
You was actually keep up with Roy and you was on the spare of the moment learning his style and movements. Not bad . You are talented .
I get finger cramps just watching. Thanks. He also has a good singing voice. 'Yesterday when I was young' and many more.
roy was a natural...not too many people like that
What a great teacher for a great student ❤❤
Du är grym! Jag älskar dina reaktionsvideor. Sluta aldrig!
60-talet är helt rätt!
Tack så mycket! Härligt, då har man lite koll på sina årtionden haha!
You did an excellent job of playing what he played. If yo worked at it a little you could probably play the whole song
Like your playing.
Thank you!
Roy would've been very pleased!
Good stuff sir!
On the subject of what year this was, the Fender Jaguar he’s playing debuted in 1962, and I believe color TV in the USA was 1964 or 1965….. that may not be right.
At any rate, I’d guess this was early to mid 1960’s…. Somebody can correct me if I’m wrong.
Thanks! Sounds right but I don’t really know either
The twelveth st rag was a ragtime jazz composition from the early 1914? Sheet music available but Roy Clark was self taught. Not sure if he could read music.
Aha ok! I don’t know either. But he plays great and thats what matters
My first time seeing your video. Will be coming back again. 👍🏻
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
The "12th Street Rag" was composed by Euday L. Boman in 1897!!!
Damn, you're good!
Thank you!
Greatness
To make it easier to pronounce twelfth and fifth, most Americans that I know treat the f before the th as silent, so that it sounds like "twelth" or "fith". "Fth" is awkward off of the tongue.
Oh, thanks! That’s one of the hardest things to pronounce haha
You kinda hummed a note before you played it I do that too, god bless our relative pitch, also you need to more dancing, great video as always
Yeah, I feel like Leland Sklar Hahah! More dancing for the next video! Thank you!
On a side note . This is an old ragtime piece of music written for the piano. It sounds good, but better when played on a guitar
I am impressed with your playing as well. Maybe try some Glenn Campbell as well.
Thank you! Yeah sure!
I'm Impressed that you could figure out the licks so quickly. Nice Job! 🙂 Looks like you've been playing for some time. Just curious, by any chance,: Are you a " Session Player?"
Thank you! Yeah, I've been playing for some years now. I actually went to "session" music school so I guess you can say that haha
Hey Erik, Thought so..I just retired from playing Musical Theater and stage shows after playing out for over 40 years. I'm no stranger to "figuring things out under all conditions like Key Changes ,editing my charts on the fly and putting up with insane music directors and a full schedule. I can spot another very experienced musician a mile away You have the chops, so if a good position comes along GRAB it! *cheers*@@hotingrock
@@larryfried7742 okay, nice! I've played some in some small musicals and I think thats a really fun job. I would like to do it again, but on a little bit of a bigger scale. Thank you!
Yes he figured it out but I do believe he's been listening to Roy Clark for some time trying to mimic him . Can't convince me this was his first time listening he's to good and proves he can keep up with him .
I think (not 100% sure) that Roy Clark in his time, was the fastest picking guitarr player around.....
1964
Check out Roy’s version of under the double eagle
Thanks for the tip! I sure will!
Another great guitarist Glen Campbell Classical Gas 🙂
@@RoxanneCarter34 Yes! I'll can check that one out aswell!
Roy Clark. GOAT, plus a comedian at the same time. That’s why America rules the world.
Now all you have to do is master the violin, Cello, Banjo, and the Mandolin. Good luck to you!
haha exactly
😁@@hotingrock
Roy's big regret was never having learned to read music. He played by ear and almost certainly had perfect pitch.
I wish I was better at reading music to. I'm I bit to lazy to learn it good haha
Please react ALIP BATA dari indonesia
Now play the fiddle and banjo.
He must be Mr. Tudballs’ son!
Same mustache
@@hotingrock Where is Mrs. aWiggins⁉️
You look just like Duane Allman. I’m sure you know who he is.
Yes, i know who he is. And I’ve heard that quite alot recently haha
I looked forward to this but your continuous stops to play made me not finish the video
Sorry fo that buddy. Maybe I'll stop less next time
@@hotingrock I also bailed on this video because of too many stops. Take a tip from Fil of Wings of Pegasus. Play the song in it's entirety or with minimal stops and break it down afterwards. You play well and learn fast but let your audience enjoy what you've chosen. Thanks anyway.
before.
You’re a very accomplished player your self but Roy can play anything with string check out some of his other performances
Thank you! I sure will!
Good job but you know speed takes many years of practice i guess right? It'll come but you'll not duplicate Roy, nobody can.
No offense your not in Roy league he was a master of three instruments
None taken! He is awesome
Maybe you should have played it all the way through, THEN broke it down.
Next time! 🫡
You did great figuring out the playing, but you didn't even try the dance steps.
True. That's the hard part
Really great . No offence but makes you see how great Roy was.
Your hitting the notes but not the way he does.
So many neuances so clear so musical
But for of the cuff pretty amazing.
You would need a ton of practice to
make it come to life like he does. But I'm
pretty shure you know this. Now make funny faces
and tap dance lol.
Yeah, he was one of a kind! Yes, thats for the next video haha!
k i clicked on your clip to hear Roy play, not you.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you atleast had a good day
His channel, not yours. If you don't like it, just move on
Roy Clark was baddest guitarist to ever live🎉🎉🎉❤
