    There's something so very beautiful in the end grain of plywood. I love how that turned out.

      Thanks, I loved it too, I had this idea in my head for a long time before doing it !!

    The fact that you made your own guitar is incredible as it is but to do it from plywood and make it look so freaking nice is just awesome!! Absolutely wonderful series and we enjoyed it very much!

      Thanks !! I tried to make it look as nice as possible, so people will forget that it's only made from plywood and enjoy its beauty :D

    Watched all the videos only to be greeted by the untuned demo at the end.. sweet project though

      Well, the strings are not the right gauge for a guitar this short, I should have used better ones

    Really great looking guitar! I love the idea of vertical plywood lines on the body. I have the exact same Metabo band saw, but mine gets stuck with larger pieces of wood like this right away. Is there any trick to working with thicker wood like this?

      Thanks Nick ! I think the secret for cutting thick material, on any powertool, is to use the proper blade and go slow. Here, I used a narrow blade with big teeth

    Congratulations on your beautiful work. Did you have any problems with the tuning of the guitar?

    • @FrenchCoastWorkshop
      @FrenchCoastWorkshop  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks Edson ! I didn’t have any particular problems when tuning and setting it up. If your neck and fretboard are cut as they have to be, then it works fine 👌

    Is that a full scale guitar? Not knocking your craftsmanship. Just everything seems shorter than “normal” is all

      It's a 3/4 or 1/2 scale guitar, I based it on a small kid guitar I already had.

    Tune your guitar.

      @FrenchCoastWorkshop  Před 3 lety

      It had to retune it a few times while I was recording the demo, so it may sound a little bit out of tune for some parts. But hey, I’m here for the build, not for the play 😂

      @@FrenchCoastWorkshop Maybe some problems in your bridge, fix it.

    • @FrenchCoastWorkshop
      @FrenchCoastWorkshop  Před 3 lety

      I think I should replane the frets and setup (again) the bridge and neck to make it sound better

      L'accordage ne sera pas stable car les mécaniques utilisées ne sont pas faites pour être installées de ce côté de la tête. Lorsque la corde tire sur le cabestan, elle écarte la vis sans fin de l'engrenage dans la mécanique au lieu de les rapprocher. (regarder une mécanique ouverte pour mieux comprendre). De ce fait la corde se détend plus facilement. Il vous faut impérativement installer des mécaniques adaptées.

      Effectivement, j’ai remarqué que j’avais commandé les mauvaises mécaniques uniquement après avoir monté la guitare 😅 je les changerais à l’occas
