The first minifigures were produced prior to the release of the films so, as it so often happens, they were going by concept art, information from Warner and the books. And in the books, Dumbledore wears a purple cloak in Philosopher's Stone and other garish colours.
A lot really has changed for LEGO Harry Potter since over 20 years ago. Would love to see a part 2. The next 5 characters could be Hermione, Ron, Draco, Voldemort, and Dobby, since they’ve all been introduced when the figures from the theme were still yellow.
i belive the purple cape represents the invisibility cloak, harry is the only student character to have it, the others have it because it matches their attire
Okay, I will be the one nerd that will explain too much
Someone already told you the Violet/Purple robe for Harry is the Invisibility cloack (as a matter of fact this Cloack is present only in the Forbidden Corridon, One Eyed Witch passage and Forbidden Library that are scenes in which Harry actually uses the Invisibility Cloack).
There is a Black one in every other set with Harry. In 2001 and 2002 it has stars for a reason.
When they created Lego Harry Potter the movies were not finished and they had only projects and designs from the Dreamworks animated movie that never was and the merchandise approved by Warner.
Snape and Dumbledore are very accurate to the designs of Tim Hildebrandt. Almost every Character up to 2004 came from these artists.
Same for the robes (and every other detail) of the students that came from Jerome K Moore. Same for the Fat Lady, Trelawney, Peeves and many others
the two cmf dumboldores are honestly fantastic, my favourite minifigure of all harry potter is the dumboldore included in the clock tower set
Have to agree too dumbledore is one of my favourites. The Harris Red dumbledore with the Fawkes Phoenix looks magical
I think it was confirmed that the purple cape was their invisibility cloak

Lego has come a long way from the yellow default minifigures to amazing print moulds and face prints. I'm yet to add Prof McGonagall to my collection. Love the green shade she has

Edit: you said snape from 2021 but you showed the one from 2018 with the leg printing.
