I saw this episode last night and found your video. This episode hit me hard. You know my son 14 yo son died last year in my arms after a 73 days battle in the ICU from a rare disease. In some nights, alone with him, in the darkness of the ICU room as he fell asleep, I prayed then to the Almighty looking down at us to take my life so that my son can live. I know how Danny felt. I lived that in real life. The difference is that my son is now in heaven and wheelchair free and free from all the scars in his body from the needles.

Nina 1973:actually I think it was more than that because you can see Danny shaking with sacredness throughout most of the epsoide i think he was more than just concerned about Steve and had more than just great pain for Steve because in season 8 when Steve’s Health gets mentioned because of the radiation poising Danny explains that he stays up at night and can’t sleep. I think Danny is afraid of losing another brother since he already lost Matt. Danny would be more than just completely lost without Steve around. Danny wouldn’t have anyone to argue with or turn to if a problem came up with either Grace or Charlie. Plus if Steve had died there wouldn’t be anyone else to watch Grace and Charlie when Jerry can’t do it. Steve is also like a back up babysitter for Grace and Charlie. Even though Grace is old enough to babysit and doesn’t a babysitter really there still needs to be an adult around for them for when Danny, Rachel&Stan aren’t there and are busy at work or doing whatever(not saying they make bad parent figures because they are good ones they just can’t always help out Grace and Charlie 24/7 when a problem pops up) and Steve kind of seems to be the go to guy for that position for Grace and Charlie. Plus Grace and Charlie both call Steve Uncle Steve. I think Steve is like the fill in fun uncle for Grace and Charlie now that Matt’s gone for good. Plus I remember when Danny telling Steve that if anything happened to him(danny) that Steve would be the one to look after Grace and Charlie because it’s what Danny would have wanted.plus someone other than Stan would have to help Rachel out with raising Grace and Charlie. But the point is Steve isn’t just important to Danny he’s also important to Joanie,Grace,Charlie. Someone else would need to keep Eric(Danny’s nephew in line). So he’s important to Eric as well. He’s also important to Jerry,Chin,Kono,Adam,Nahele,Lou as well he’s also important to Junior and Tani in Season 8. Steve is like the one character on the show that if the writers killed off that character the whole show would go down with him the one character that can’t be killed off. Same goes for Danny. There’s always a couple of characters that would take the show down with them if the writers killed them off completely you know the absolutely do not kill off under any circumstances what so ever characters Steve and Danny are those characters because the show wouldn’t be the same without them just like it’s not the same without Kono and Chin Steve seems to play a more than just important part in the show to more than just danny steve is not only a cop he also helps out unfortunate characters(people who’s lives are so messed up that they need help going in the right direction and make the right choices in life) if Steve wasn’t a cop he could also be like a life coach or a therapist.

It was for me the most beautiful episode in terms of friendship between the two Danny Williams didn't think twice about donating part of his liver to save his friend, that's very beautiful.

pu3shahidah:I feel like he wouldn’t have if the doctor hadn’t been so slow at saying oh by the way Steve has a chance of living if he’s given a new liver which is why I was proud of Danny for saying Steve could have part of his liver to replace the damaged one because of the two of them being the same blood type it made the looking for half a liver for Steve a lot easier than putting him on a donor list and waiting months or years to find a match from a stranger. The solution the whole time for Steve was simple just replace the liver with a different one.
