Absolutely magnificent. The close-knit ensemble is unparalleled anywhere.
This is a really good rendition of this piece and what's more they look happy and are totally into the music........somebody mentioned the dress code what? They look fine to me and what's more important they sound it too. Very enjoyable to watch and listen.
Wonderful. I just love the total commitment , yet relaxed , free flowing style of the singers and orchestra. This team is very special and I hope that they get the right backing to be able to develop further.

Parabéns, pela ótima interpretação dessas passagens da Missa em si menor de J. S. Bach! À parte essa minha referência elogiosa a esse seu trabalho, eu gostaria de fazer algumas observações que, ao meu ver, podem ajudar seu grupo a incrementar essa sua interpretação. Há pouco, revisitei, por meio do youtube, a interpretação que Karl Richter deu, a essas mesmas passagens. Trata-se de uma interpretação que é datada, que desconhece a utilização de instrumentos "de época" e que ignora as articulações e outros tantos recursos interpretativos que são exigidos pela música barroca e que, atualmente, encontram-se - felizmente - em voga. Richter, também, adotava, para a interpretação dessa música, um grupamento musical muito grande, o que é impróprio. Não obstantes essas limitações da interpretação de Richter, há um aspecto em que ela deve servir como referência interpretativa. Refiro-me ao tempo que ele adotou, para o Sanctus dessa monumental missa. Trata-se de um tempo que se mostra um tanto mais lento do que aquele que é praticado por seu grupo e por quase todos os grupamentos musicais que, atualmente, adotam a interpretação "historicamente informada" da música barroca. Mas, o tempo que foi adotado por Richter, quando é comparado a um tempo mais rápido, parece ser o mais convincente. Isso porque melhor corresponde ao sentido do texto que ali é cantado, ao oferecer maior intensidade de afeto e maior deferência Àquele a que tal texto se refere. Uma interpretação mais ligeira tende a perder esse caráter, fazendo com que o texto pareça estar se referindo a uma coisa qualquer, ao invés de estar se referindo a Deus.
The membership of the singers in Solomon's Knot seems to change from one performance to another. The only constants I recognize are Jonathan Sells and Kate Symonds-Joy.

Now all they need is a dress code. Pajamas, golf pants, leaving the hanger in your dress--I had to turn away and just listen. I know it shouldn't matter that much, but if it's distracting, something should be done next time.

But the musical rendition of Bach is most perfect.
