Dana White sounded off on what he thought was an atrocious decision to hand George St-Pierre the win over Johny Hendricks, calling on the governor to fix the 'incompetance.'

GSP had more take downs, better control on the ground, and more significant strikes. I don't care how bloody George was. Any fighter will bleed like that when they have that amount of scar tissue from how long they have been fighting. It was close, but Hendricks lost.
I think in this particular fight he’s saying it’s about damage, not all other fights. The stats were close, there wasn’t much difference in strikes landed but what stands out is how more effective Hendricks strikes were. He rocked and busted St Pierre badly.
When GSP and Hendricks were on that fighting words thing on tele GSP was saying how he is planning for his next fight after Hendricks and then all of a sudden takes time off, something dodgy there
LMAO Hendricks didn't get a single scratch in his face ppl in the comment section changing the topic GSP is a great champion his legacy will live on bit agree he losed to Hendricks fairly.

I kind of get it. a year ago GSP looked across as Nick said his goodbyes and declared his retirement in the octagon, and probably felt the same by UFC 167.

I guarantee that if GSP hadn't announced he was walking away Dana would've been singing his praises here and saying he won the fight. Dude was just salty that GSP said he was done.
because hes a promoter and the crowed is what scared him to come to that conclusion of the fight they were rioting because of robbery of hendricks GSP paid off the judges that why he retired immediately he knew what he was doing and funny enough he got out right as USDA got more control of the steroid use in MMA almost like the wussie knew what was going to happen and just wanted to cement his legacy anyway how even by cheating hes a false idol.

if you have Hendricks the winner over gsp you dont know how to judge a match or know how the ufc is score system works . i dont care for either fighter and honestly i like Hendricks style of fighting but when i scored the match i scored it 49 to 47 gsp . heres how i came to this conclusion , 1st round 10 - 9 gsp , gsp threw more landed more and moved forward the entire round , 2nd round 10 - 9 Hendricks , i would of gave Hendricks 10-8 but gsp was hit by a good punch and yes dazed but gsp recovered quick and showed no serious damage was done as he moved forward after that shot and landed shots of his own late 2nd round ,3rd round 10-9 gsp , moved forward had good shots ,stayed busy as hendricks showed less snap in his punches also slowed down and got out boxed , 4th round 10-10 tie both hugged alot , both attempted take downs and showed defense ,both landed equal or close exchanges , 5th round 10-9 gsp , gsp opened the final round with high kick low kicks , jab , jab even tho these early shots didn't land they landed glove-side but gsp was busy and moving forward then mid round gsp lands a body kick followed by a landed left right followed by a take down , hendricks had some good shots but no power behind them as gsp gets another take down winning this close round . either way the fight was close and hendricks or anyone that is a challenger has to clearly win the match handsdown to take a belt witch it was only close.
Only round up for discussion was round 1, only thing Hendricks really landed were those elbows against the fence, whereas GSP had more output towards the end of the round. Both had a takedown, both did nothing with it, GSP had a guillotine for a split second that wasn’t really a threat. In terms of damage, idk, were those elbows landed by Hendricks more than all the kicks George landed? Maybe, I’m not really sure, honestly a pretty close round. Yes Hendricks did more damage throughout the fight, but because of the limitations of a 10-9 scoring system, you can’t really differentiate between rounds very well. If the UFC wants to avoid these kinds of decisions, they need to implement a .5 scoring system where you will have 10-9.5, vs 10-9 which will ultimately weed out these outcomes.
What happened with don't leave it up to the judges that's what he always says when there is a controversial decision why did he change his toon all of a sudden lol
+wr1swd84 that's my point he always says I'm not a judge but I always tell fighters don't leave it up to the judges and all of a sudden he changes his toon cuz it's not convenient for him cuz Jorge wants to take a vacation or retire and he can't make money off him smh
"It's a fight, it's about damage"??? No, it isn't. We have 5 rounds, each round is judged by performance. GSP won by rounds. GSP def won that fight. Dana White says GSP is his biggest PPV attraction in defense of his claims, but GSP was also retiring for an indefinite amount of time WITH the title, so Dana White is crying about it. FOH!
im a huge gsp fan (my fave all-time mma fighter) an completely agree, it was a joke that he won that fight an went out like that. It was very unsettling to see him A FIGHTER not wana rematch for an prove hes the best in ufc history. If he had of that would have been it set in stone.
The hell are you talking about you know how much damage you take in each fight how gruesome it is to make weight and training camp and how awful the diet is and you just want to eat what you love but you can’t . How much of a toll it takes on your mental and especially physical damage dude. GSP literally ran through that division and fought all the top contenders. The only reason Dana is mad is because his biggest ppv guy at the time was leavinh but he lets Conor and rousey leave and come back when they want to. He literally let Conor never defend his belt and he is talking about GSP is obligated to defend it for the company wth you know how many times he defended ts if he wants time off or even retire than he deserve ts. He lets jon Jones keep the title while he has his time off and being a horrible person . He literally let Conor hold up abs entire division that he never fought in Win the title and never defend it vacate both of them wtf. And then Everytime Conor comes back he gets a shot to win the title.the only reason Dana is mad is because if money he dosent care about the rematch he cares about the money the rematch is going to make .
Dana White knows GSP won, it's not about damage. GSP won in the first, third and fifth round of the fight. Hendricks half of the 2nd round and then it was an even slate for the rest of the round. St. Pierre slipped in the 4th round to allow Hendricks to get those extra hits, George had more take down 4-3 through the match and more punches landed. The judges ruled it the same way they would of ruled any other match, even if it included boxing. Dana White just wanted to stirr the pot because as a promoter his job is to create more drama to bring in the viewers. The people who say GSP lost either hate him, wanted to see him lose, like Hendricks more, or straight up don't know how scorecards work, at the end of the day it was a good fight.
It's not about damage? What the hell are you talking about? If MMA is not about damage then what is it about? GSP was clearly out gunned and badly injured throughout the whole fight. What about Hendricks?
People want to see damage, but the rules of how a fight is scored is not. Under your logic hypothetically, had Hendricks only punched GSP once and made him bleed severely, while GSP spent every round taking him down to the ground and putting him in a variety of submissions and landing alot more punches (without damages) GSP should still lose the fight?
based on how scorecards work, GSP won, and that's all that matters. Dana White is fully aware of how the scorecard works too, but like i said he's just stirring up the hype in case GSP does come back for his belt, ratings=money.
I see over 30 GSP fan boys looking for validation so that they can sleep easy thinking he won. I saw that fight, impartial, and I said before the judges decision was even announced that GSP didn't stand a fucking chance on those cards.... I'm with Dana all the way, if your a GSP fan boy on here looking for validation then you have already admitted to your self that Hendricks won because you are showing how much you doubt that he won and Hendricks lost. Quit making excuses and realize what happened in that fight
First time watching I said how the fuck did St-Pierre win that. Second watch I was like ok I can see why some people argue that St-Pierre won. By point GSP won. Which is such a bullshit way to win. By ass whooping Hendricks won without a doubt.
Points is a BS way to win, but it's still a valid win. Just look at Maywheater, he never wins by knockout, it's always by points and decision, but he's undefeated. Sometimes brains win over brawn in a fight.
The whole modern UFC rules make it so we can't tell who is the BETTER fighter. Ever since rounds have been introduced, the bouts do not simulate a real fight. GSP is the best in the world for that one reason. He's the only fighter who has said he would prefer to fight WITHOUT rounds. That is a real fight, a real test of endurance. Not this current phony setup made to appeal to boxing fans.
ddelang1 I bet you got that from Wikipedia, am I right? Pretty much all of the guys he knocked out were clowns. Name me one real world class fighter that he knocked out? I bet you can't. And you call me a filthy casual...
haha if it's about damage than why people complain about robbie vs conduit? this is the biggest issue ufc needs to deal with.Does throwing alot of shots that do no damage and holding an opponent mean more than throwing less but way more affective shots?
But allowed gsp to keep going bs ALMOST LIKE gsp KNEW WHAT WAS going to happen so he got out when u could before he was deflated like hendricks who was forced to loose his belt because of rigged scores in gsp"s favor makes you loose faith in the sport.
Damage should obviously be factored in, but we need to differentiate between cosmetic damage and actual damage. GSP had a lot of cosmetic damage in the Hendricks fight, but is that enough to give Hendricks the win? The fight was never close to being stopped. GSP was never even really 'hurt' in the fight either. There are too many other variables that attribute to how much cosmetic damage someone takes in a fight.. thin skin, scar tissue, etc.. some people cut easier and some people bruise easier. That's why volume and output are also key factors. When the fight is broken down round by round, it's no wonder why GSP got the win. The last 4 rounds were very clear cut & easy to score, & Round 1 could've went either way, which is why the decision is still being argued about to this day. If it were as obvious as Dana is claiming, & all of GSP's haters are claiming, there wouldn't even be a discussion about it. Everyone would agree, but that's not the case here. There's a reason the fight is still being debated 3+ years later.
Uhh... Gsp don't owe that company shyt.. if anybody owes anybody the UFC owes Georges . It owes chuck. It owes couture. It owes Tito. It owes Anderson. I could go on and on about the shoulders this sport was built on
I reckon if this fight happened now Hendricks would have won. Seems like most fights now go more to whoever was closer to finishing the fight or at least showed more intent to finish the fight for example Robbie Lawler doesn't usually have good raw numbers but he goes hard and gets decisions when he cant finish.
I could have sworn that points won the fight, not whose face looked better. I soo hope more fighters leave the ufc or start standing up for themselves.
I know many will say Hendricks was robbed. But they don't realize that he was on roids. So even if he did win, it would of been called a no contest and the belt would of been stripped.
Nevada is about gaming. How are they suppose to know who's going to win without a few safety measures set in place. Nevada has never lost a fight, ever.
He wants what fair? Then why doesn't he pay his fighters a living wage? Why is he restricting their ability to earn a living outside the UFC with a Endorsers tax and the Reebok Deal?
Dana White is so fucked up this company multi million dollar company and fighter's only get paid 6,000 for showing up and a bonus 6,000 if you win the fight. And he stands here saying that GSP OWES THE UFC WOW PITIFUL.

Nah GSP won 2, 3, and 5. Those rounds that GSP won were close but he won regardless.
I think in this particular fight he’s saying it’s about damage, not all other fights. The stats were close, there wasn’t much difference in strikes landed but what stands out is how more effective Hendricks strikes were. He rocked and busted St Pierre badly.
Hendriks was on roids gsp still won
I absolutly love Dana's honesty and candor. I agree with him on everything, except GSP's decision to take time off. GSP can do whatever GSP wants to.
Dana gets in his feelings so much haha
When GSP and Hendricks were on that fighting words thing on tele GSP was saying how he is planning for his next fight after Hendricks and then all of a sudden takes time off, something dodgy there
LMAO Hendricks didn't get a single scratch in his face ppl in the comment section changing the topic GSP is a great champion his legacy will live on bit agree he losed to Hendricks fairly.
They dont score rounds by scratches my guy
Wrong Dana judges score cards on significant strikes , not damage . George landed way more significant strikes than Hendricks
Damn Dana must of had some money on Hendricks lmao
Hendricks was on steroids.
@J. Baker hendricks deflated and George didn't
When fighting for a title, you need to knock the champ out. Just like Edwards did to Usman. You let the fight go to a decision, don't expect to win.
How can this man (Who is The president of UFC) say that all that matters in a fight is Damage? So if one fighter has a lucky round and cuts The other one they should win fespite losing all the other rounds? Makes no sense to me
If that's the case, Reyes beat Jones then.
And izzy beat jan
boxing was never destroyed and never will be.
It was destroyed for a while dumbass
Alright Mr "don't leave it in the hands of the judges"
I kind of get it. a year ago GSP looked across as Nick said his goodbyes and declared his retirement in the octagon, and probably felt the same by UFC 167.
I mean, it’s not about damage in a round, it’s about all rounds. That being said, it should have at LEAST been a draw
I just watched the fight, this is the first fight i have watched from Gsp so I cannot be biased, imho Hendricks was dominating almost entire fight
Experts would say GSP won,
Amateurs would say Hendricks won.
At the end of the day, the result is the result. People can continue to argue if they want to, but GSP won and that’s final.
is gsp the Maywether of the ufc or something?
It doesn’t list “inflicting damage”anywhere in the ufc scoring criteria.
I will admit that I have never had anything good to say about Dana White. I've never been a fan of his, nor his actions or words. But he was on point in this press conference. He manned up & said what needed to be said, the truth, about his biggest money maker. GSP lost, period, & I actually agree with everything he said, esp the comment about NSC ruining boxing.
No he wasn’t. And Hendricks was on roids. And he still lost
Johnny was juiced up to the gills !!! 😂😂
but he didnt defend dominick reyes like this when he beat jones hpocrite
Dana was mad cause he lost his golden ticket
He needs to do this for the Condit vs Lawler fight
That was a worse decision imo, no way should Robbie get the third round, when the only solid strike he land was a forearm
@@jacobtho4173 imagine calling GSP a "wussie". Couldn't be me. Also, imagine accusing GSP of doping when he volunteered himself to more intense drug tests than was required several times in his career.
if you have Hendricks the winner over gsp you dont know how to judge a match or know how the ufc is score system works .
i dont care for either fighter and honestly i like Hendricks style of fighting but when i scored the match i scored it 49 to 47 gsp .
heres how i came to this conclusion , 1st round 10 - 9 gsp , gsp threw more landed more and moved forward the entire round , 2nd round 10 - 9 Hendricks , i would of gave Hendricks 10-8 but gsp was hit by a good punch and yes dazed but gsp recovered quick and showed no serious damage was done as he moved forward after that shot and landed shots of his own late 2nd round ,3rd round 10-9 gsp , moved forward had good shots ,stayed busy as hendricks showed less snap in his punches also slowed down and got out boxed , 4th round 10-10 tie both hugged alot , both attempted take downs and showed defense ,both landed equal or close exchanges , 5th round 10-9 gsp , gsp opened the final round with high kick low kicks , jab , jab even tho these early shots didn't land they landed glove-side but gsp was busy and moving forward then mid round gsp lands a body kick followed by a landed left right followed by a take down , hendricks had some good shots but no power behind them as gsp gets another take down winning this close round . either way the fight was close and hendricks or anyone that is a challenger has to clearly win the match handsdown to take a belt witch it was only close.
Dana has calmed down much now. Didn't even react negatively on jones vs reyes robbery. Lol
He was also pretty mad at gsp for turning his back on the ufc at the time
Jones isnt retiring
He's right. All fighters should have a health meter.
😂😂
"It's a fight, it's about damage"??? No, it isn't. We have 5 rounds, each round is judged by performance. GSP won by rounds. GSP def won that fight. Dana White says GSP is his biggest PPV attraction in defense of his claims, but GSP was also retiring for an indefinite amount of time WITH the title, so Dana White is crying about it. FOH!
someone show this clip to Dana now lol
im a huge gsp fan (my fave all-time mma fighter) an completely agree, it was a joke that he won that fight an went out like that.
Under your logic hypothetically, had Hendricks only punched GSP once and made him bleed severely, while GSP spent every round taking him down to the ground and putting him in a variety of submissions and landing alot more punches (without damages) GSP should still lose the fight?
you should go watch the fight again...
based on how scorecards work, GSP won, and that's all that matters. Dana White is fully aware of how the scorecard works too, but like i said he's just stirring up the hype in case GSP does come back for his belt, ratings=money.
***** okay, sorry boss!!! So so sorry!!! It'll never happen again!!!
Docter Zaius Floyd has 26 KOs from 49 wins you filthy casual
ddelang1
I bet you got that from Wikipedia, am I right?
Pretty much all of the guys he knocked out were clowns. Name me one real world class fighter that he knocked out? I bet you can't.
And you call me a filthy casual...
He won the fight, because he won more rounds than Hendricks. Simple.
haha if it's about damage than why people complain about robbie vs conduit? this is the biggest issue ufc needs to deal with.Does throwing alot of shots that do no damage and holding an opponent mean more than throwing less but way more affective shots?
IT'S ABOUT DAMAGE? LOOK AT BISPING/HENDERSON 2?????
Ironic that Dana asking for state intervention.
Usada slayed the juiced up Hendricks
But allowed gsp to keep going bs ALMOST LIKE gsp KNEW WHAT WAS going to happen so he got out when u could before he was deflated like hendricks who was forced to loose his belt because of rigged scores in gsp"s favor makes you loose faith in the sport.
that was the worst decision ever. Ill bet they were paid off. the judges are horrid in UFC
It's not about damage our how they look after a fight it's about most take downs and punches and kicks landed
what ever helps you sleep at night you spineless gsp FAN
And definitely not about knockouts or submissions…🤔
There's a reason the fight is still being debated 3+ years later.
him to leave n come back would put his ppv buys up n that’s what it’s really is about for him like he said he’s the biggest ppv person he had lol
Dana was only mad because GSP was walking away and the UFC can’t make money off of him anymore, he did the same thing when GSP beat Bisping
well now they changed the point thankfully
I think Johnny would lose he's fallen off plus I think he was on drugs
Cant just leave and come back, Thats not how it works - Dana..... Eh..... Its seems to have been worked out now thought !
I could have sworn that points won the fight, not whose face looked better. I soo hope more fighters leave the ufc or start standing up for themselves.
I know many will say Hendricks was robbed. But they don't realize that he was on roids. So even if he did win, it would of been called a no contest and the belt would of been stripped.
bro they both were on the juice
Destroyed boxing ?
Nevada is about gaming. How are they suppose to know who's going to win without a few safety measures set in place. Nevada has never lost a fight, ever.
It is to how it works my man took 4 years off lol
He wants what fair?
Then why doesn't he pay his fighters a living wage? Why is he restricting their ability to earn a living outside the UFC with a Endorsers tax and the Reebok Deal?
He's mad he lost money on what he thought was fixed, again.
That was the night Johny’s career died in the ditch... he was never the same
Why is Vaseline illegal in UFC?
I couldn't agree more.
Look at the UFC today they're facing a class action lawsuit by the fighters and they have a strong case!!!
Dana White is so fucked up this company multi million dollar company and fighter's only get paid 6,000 for showing up and a bonus 6,000 if you win the fight. And he stands here saying that GSP OWES THE UFC WOW PITIFUL.
Ollierotten 1 Dumbass when you start off in the UFC you get 6,000 from your first fight and if you win you get a bonus wich equals to 12,000.
0:51 he's talking about you de la Hoya... -_-
