  • Had an inferior smart hose timer that was horrible. Heard about these and have been so happy we have never had a hiccup!

    Does the timer maintain the schedule within or does it simply get switched by the hub? Trying to understand what the hub does and if the timers still work once setup, even without the hub. Also, how far can the hub be from the timer? thanks!

      Those are good questions, I'm not sure if it is stored locally or on the hub. I'll try an experiment when I get a chance. I can tell you that the Hub Works off of a short range radio, has the connectivity range of about a Bluetooth device. It can be a good distance and open are, but if there's walls or obstructions it shortens the range.

    Are there any issues connecting it to your wifi? I have a dual band router, Orbi Tri-Band WiFi Mesh System..

      I did not have a problem, and I have an Asus triband mesh network.

      @UncleFabReviews Sweet, I had the RainPoint one, and jt took a crap a year later. It started to leak and wouldn't connect back to my same network. I bought a new one and still wouldn't connect, so I returned it. I am ordering the Rachio from Amazon. Hopefully, the power plug issue is fixed on these, people online saying it won't power on or stay plugged in, and Rachio is aware of the issue.

      I just got one of these last year to try out after having issues with the b-hyve ones over and over. Glad to say it is very stable and I will be replacing my other two with these because of how good they are (had the single unit all year last year, so I’ve had time to test it). I only had one connection issue and Rachio emailed that there was an issue before I even knew it (same day notification from them). They had it resolved in a decent timeframe and notifying customers of a known issue is monumental compared to being left to hope that a bug will be fixed someday. THAT is the real selling point compared to others, I think. They also are continually adding features and enhancing the experience, which is quite nice as well. I have not regretted converting my regular irrigation controller or my hose timer to Rachio. Hands down, they are best I’ve tried over the years.

    Have you connected them to Alexa?

    Can you set it to turn on at a specific outdoor temperature?

    • @UncleFabReviews

      There is no trigger of temperature in the app, only date and time. They work with Alexa and Google, but I can not set it up to come on based on temp there either. Sorry

      Not sure I understand your question. You can have multiple valves on one hub, yes.

    How long does battery last

    • @UncleFabReviews
      @UncleFabReviews  Před 3 měsíci

      It depends how much they are turning on and off. Our original batteries were a heavy duty NiCad and lasted 8-9 months. We put lithium in there now and it's been 2 months and are showing 90%
