    That’s what I don’t understand about peoples hate towards Lexus hybrids. They are outstanding to live with and the hybrid system is just a joy on a daily basis

      Haters are GOING to hate I drove a CT 200H for 100k miles and loved it now I have the UX and it’s quicker than the CT by far and it’s just a marvelous machine.

    I love all Lexus cars because of their serene driving style. I can feel it even when watching the povs. Its just so silent and smooth I don’t see any competitors for this money really. I’m selling my Lexus RX for something smaller due to a move to Spain. And still Lexus UX looks like a better option for me then german luxury competitors I tested. I just don’t need this pseudo sport twitching.

    Really enjoyed this review. Thought you struck a great balance and it was a good test over a reasonable distance/time period and in a mix of traffic situations. Thought you homed in on the pros and cons really succinctly - and highlighted what Lexus does best. 👍

    Nice review. I think these "Living with" series are great. Lexus have addressed the infotainment issue now with the newer touch screen setup on the "facelift" cars. Its massively better and so much more intuitive.

    I had a Subaru Outback, 2016 model in the UK. Really great car for ride and quality of build, handling and character of the 2.5 engine but….awful fuel economy round town and not fantastic anywhere else really. Thats the problem with Subaru. Ive only driven the CT200h and really liked it but the low profiles and firm suspension was not very good. This UX, I knew nothing about it until a couple of days ago, seems a very very good car. Refined, enough power for me as a weekend only car if im honest as I am in a van during the week. Seems quiet and very well made, plus the economy is appealing with an engine that does seem to have a nice bit of character to it. Well worth a look I think. Great review.

    Brilliant review, thank you so much. Would you say its best in its class or what is it close to?

  • @Farmhandboy
    @Farmhandboy Před 3 měsíci

    Just a clarification on the small boot. It's quite shallow with a large tray under the floor panel which gives it extra storage volume. However, taken the tray out and.you will find a polystyrene tray for tool storage etc. As this can be removed also it leaves a large extra volume for storage.
    Why Lexus did not make this more easily accessible and convenient with a clever rear deck adjustment is anyone's guess, but the potential is there for a decent sized boot to compete with the other cars in this class.
    Further, if you look at the cars external styling at the rear, it has some considerable clearance from the road and so could have been provided with a much bigger load depth with a small change in external styling.

    Hi, great review but FYI, I’m pretty sure they’re not bag hooks in the boot rather they’re for the luggage screen but, there should be hooks that toggle outward ??

    Excellent thoughts. I had thought about one of these, but the infotainment and the boot size have been a bit offputting. Feels plush inside though.

    Great review! One question, you were using the paddle shifters quite a bit when throwing it around, which I thought was interesting as I've seen a few other people saying they arent really very useful, even a gimmick, except to give you more regen downhill. Since they're only on the F-Sport models, do you think they are worth having, if you wanted to have a bit of fun in the car occasionally, or did you find yourself just letting the gearbox do it's thing in the end?

    Forget the touch pad and use voice controll. Brakes are smooth! Small? A Fiat 500 is small. Gets 53 mpg city or motorway. Sport model has low profile tyres which you dont want with pothole infested roads. Radar Cruise has 1 mph increments on the + - buttons.

    I would probably keep the fake engine sound ON just to drawn out the CVT sound to be honest. I had a friend recently and he was like why does your engine sound like it's about to explode and I told him it's normal for a CVT.

      The Q2 is horrible. Its Audis attempt at a crossover but in my opinion ends up looking cheap and nasty. Driven one for a day, was okay to drive but to me seems like a poor persons Audi, trying to be trendy to show off yet goodness knows why. Audi love customers who are full of their own self importance.

    Motoring journalists bang on repeatedly about the lack of buttons and having to find settings for basic stuff like heated seats etc buried in the touch screen. This reviewer mentions the buttons and says something like ‘I don’t know why they’re here’. Seems like manufacturers are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
