Seriously, this is an incredible video. I mean, the unique insight and window we get from this into a world we normally never see, and explained to us in English as well... If you think about it, this is a video that pretty much ONLY Erik Shoji could make. And he did. Thanks for this. Super awesome and fascinating to see. Would LOVE to see something like this again when you’re back with Team USA.

we don't have a translator except some of the guys who speak well. so sometimes it can be an adventure :)

Would love to hear more about the contracts and other behind the scene stuff, like how do brand promotions come about, how do the teams monitor and improve the players’ health, how do teams decide on game strategies, do teams watch the playback together after every game and discuss improvements, who does the laundry etc. 😆

It was really cool to see a day in your life. I know that at the end of the day its a job, and definitely you put in a ton of work, but it also seems like fun! Even tho it would be cool if the U.S. had a professional league for men's volleyball, it's nice how multicultural it is, at least in my eyes since I've never been able to travel outside of the US

Man those travels must take some toll on you guys. I mean, it's like flying from Athens to London and back every time before a home game. I was just thinking, if you were competing in a CEV competition and had midweek international games, would that even be possible? You should be actually living on a plane the whole time! I'm gonna be a bit forward here and ask (you don't have to answer if you don't want to): Is the money THAT better in Russia than in the rest of Europe as it is rumoured? Does it make it worth it? Would you see yourself playing in a country like Greece in the future? As always, great videos, keep it up and good luck with everything!
thanks for the message!! I had no idea Athens to London was that distance. that’s crazy to think about. we played in Champions League last season which was challenging but fun! the money, for me at least, is much better than what I’ve had in Europe before.
