This is me reacting to my own highlights. One of my goals for 2021 is to be kinder to myself and to not only see the negatives and poor plays in my volleyball play. I think it's important for me to also see the positive, and this video is the first step I'm taking in this self-kindness journey :) I hope you enjoy and have the best New Year! Be safe!

Dude, you are one of the best liberos in the world. You are awesome, amazing and yes, a cringe celebrator😂😂😂, but still, love yourself first! This actually a lesson from 2020 and also something I wanna try and do better in 2021. Anyway, in Portugal we say “good beginnings” for the new year and that’s what I wish for you. Have fun.

I really don't understand why more people don't want to be liberos?? You don't score points, but it's just so epic doing all those sick moves and having a special shirt
Being a libero is genuinely so fun. You’re on the court basically the whole game unless a middle is serving. Getting a perfect dig off a fantastic hit(for me my favorite is digging middles) it is such an adrenaline rush. When a teammate shanks and getting a good save is my favorite tbh. Libero is such an overlooked position too, and you get the least amount of credit. However I absolutely love being libero. I agree with you 100% I don’t know why more ppl don’t want to be libero. (Hehe sorry for the long rant, I’m just very passionate about “liberoing”. 😂)

i think there is so much humility in self critique but you're almost a video game character on a volleyball court ... super human! Self Love, Pass Dimes, Be Kind :)

You are absolutely the coolest libero in the world!! I remember libero has been introduced since FIVB world championship 1998. My hero Koichi Nishimura was the first libero at Japan men's national team and he is only 175cm(5.7ft)! I'm short person and almost gave up to play volleyball at high school but I was so motivated and enjoyed to play because of libero system. I'm sure you are making lots of kids like me to play volleyball now because libero doesn't matter how tall or short and digging is so much fun!! You are doing fantastic job, Erik!

Can you do some technique breakdowns (Hopefully for all positions) please?? Something about other fundamentals like spiking, setting, blocking... Or would you rather stick to the libero techniques?
im not sure i'll be doing a ton of technique breakdowns outside of the libero position. idk if i feel comfortable with that. but i do talk about different techniques in my videos. i hope you keep watching! :)

What was the hardest ball that you’ve ever had to receive power wise? Like have any of them made your arms numb or is that something that you’ve gotten used to over the years?
the hardest serve was probably around 80 mph. idk how spikes. it can definitely hurt!

You should adopt my “Nice pass, Eldon” self praise. Everyone hypes the attack, or the block, or the dump but the passers far too often get no love. So whenever I pass well or get a good up I say aloud “Nice pass, Eldon!” Someone’s gotta appreciate your work, might as well start with you. 🤪
I love, you're very keen on volleyball! Sometimes I feel like volleyball players are just tall, and they don't watch they plays, don't interest in volleyball apart from they work... So very nice, you do that!

I'd imagine recognizing your own mistakes and areas where you could improve (and taking action to correct them) is essential to becoming an elite athlete, but it's OK to be kind to yourself. These were all digs, so from the fans' perspective, the balls are going to fast we can barely see them and it's amazing that you're able to just get a hand on it and send it upward.

I love your channel so much. I started watching haikyuu and I got into volleyball and I wanna be a libero like you and nishinoya so i practice everyday at home with CZcams videos. Volleyball isn’t a big sport here where I live but I love it so much and hope I can be in a team one day

Eric, you should get other USA volley players onto your channel!! It can just be duo reacting to highlights, interviews, a mixture of both, etc. Guests I know I'd like to see are Ma'a, DeFalco, Patch, Anderson, and Christenson. Make it happen!! Give more exposure to US Volleyball!

3) Can a 6ft guy become a great outside hitter with practice and consistency?
4) which serve is more difficult to pass, a jump or a float?

I know that 5 are too much but I can't help my curiosity!
