If you have the money, buy the 570. But, i have a 450 also, and it's plenty of a machine for trails. I Don't mud or beat the shit out of my machines. Really like the stainless exhaust.
The 450ho is faster than most trails will allow. So unless you're only road rippin' you're never cruising at wide open throttle. Many reviews say the 450 seems to have more low end grunt, I just bought one, I run a 570 and an 800 rzr often, I noticed that low end grunt immediately. Our trails here are rocky, that grunt and nimbleness is perfect. I've never been more impressed with a 499cc quad. It's a great value bike and can be often found with low kms in the used market as many ppl will upgrade to "keep up with the Jones". Polaris calling it a 450 instead of a 500 did themselves a disservice. More ppl would buy em if they new it was 500cc
Thanks for the review, I got my 2017 Sportsman 450 in later October and been loving the machine! So far nothing major has gone wrong with it and already I've racked up 2600kms. The gauge looks a lot better on the 2018 model though.
You probably know this already but you can hold down the mode button and click through and you’ll find bl color and hold on it again and you can set to red or blue
Also something I'm curious about is the high beam lights on the 2018 model. Do the high beam and low beams come on on the 2018 model when you switch to the high beams? My 2017 only switches on the high beam light when I switch to high beams so a light bar is going to be my new purchase.
GoldenGunsGames On the 18’s the low beams turn off when you turn on the high beams. I highly recommend getting the racks and getting a 33” curved LED bar
Awesome review! I’m torn between a used 2011 500HO with 400 miles 102hrs and included plow for 3k..... or financing, which I’m not overly excited about, a 2018 450 for $4,700 or a 2018 570 for $5,500 through the Polaris clearance sale. However, those do not have a winch or plow...... I have never owned a quad, so I’m nervous of used ones. Any advice? Do you think your 450 would be good for plowing?
I'm watching this video in 2020 I just got a 2020 570 on July 30 I test drove my friend's 2018 570 and relley liked it so then when I showed up at the dealer I was getting it from ball equipment they had a really nice deal that I could get a 2020 570 for the same price as the 2020 450 so I got the 570
Did you find a way to fix the squeak at 6:13? I have the exact same noise when I come to a stop or travel at low speeds. I'm sure it is just greasing the zerk fittings but I haven't taken mine out of storage for the spring yet.
While the video showed a lot of info. It was dizzying to watch. Slow down a bit on you camera work by not moving around so much, especially the back and forth and in and out. Take care.
work hard my Man U probably don’t pay attention to what the dealer tells you every dealer tells you the break in period I’ve bought a Honda foreman and they told me the 24 hour break in period that foreman was the worst ATV I’ve ever bought no power that thing barely hit 56 mph my 2019 450 HO hits 63 mph with no effort I can probably do even 65mph oh and did I mention that that Honda foreman needed a diff because it broke when I was on the trails going ONLY 20 MPH!!!!!! The thing just broke out of nowhere
@@Ironfurnaceroom Seems like most of the information in this video is pretty accurate. The 570 is actually not "way faster" though. The 450HO makes 33hp and the 570 makes 44hp. the 450 has a top speed of 62 and the 570 has a top speed of 65. Pretty similar performance.
LOL, im pretty sure it does not do 60. My 570 tops out at 62 on pavement and barely 30 up Bull gap (sand hill climb)...but that light bar gets you light speed maybe?
The 450 ho is a 500 . I own a 2013. Make no mistake about it you don't need any more power than that for trail riding. Amazing machine..i still don't know why they call it a 450..kinda stupid if you ask me man
450 is a great value and a good machine but you said the 450 is the best value. I disagree considering at dealers around me they were asking 600 extra for the 570 so I went with it.
T, basically the same machine as the 570. Same frame, bodywork and suspension. Smaller engine, 33hp compared to 44hp on the 570. And yes the tires are a bit smaller on the 450. 24” tires compared to the 25’s that come on the 570.
I never understood why people care about top speed on a quad? Who wants to haul ass and possibly eat shit, I'd rather clutch it and gear it for low torque and have fun playing on the trails
Because it matters, top speed is an indicator how easily it will cruise a long the trails. Also a lot of people have to drive on roads to get to the trails. I for example have a little bit of road driving before I get to my state trails, 10 miles or so. My Magnum 325 is not the fastest, but 45mph on the trail is plenty fast, cruising at 30-35 is perfect. Once you get over 40 on mine it takes exponentially more throttle to go even a little faster. Now if my top speed was 60 it would not be as wound out cruising on the trail. Make sense?
you said Polaris really well engineered?? not mechanically I bet that ATV won't last 15 years put money on that very little canam and Polaris make it pass 10 years
The reliability problems the two brands have is really only on the big bore 90hp units. They are still just as well engineered as the next brand they just live a much harder life.
William Stewart they are not as well or even close to being good engineered as a Yamaha or Honda there 15 years behind if your very mechanically inclined you would see the difference
@@workhard3994 They really aren't though, Polaris and Can Am put more into their R&D than anyone else. They sell the most, make the most, and spend the most. You don't seem to be grasping what I was trying to say. No other brands make big power quads like the Polaris and Can Am ones. They don't have to live as hard of a life, aren't bought by the same people that only care about performance and beat the ever loving crap out of thier quads. Your average grizzly owner does not ride their bikes like a 1000 Can Am or Polaris owner does.

Thanks for the review. I'm taking delivery of a brand new 2020 model tomorrow. Did my research. It's replacing a 2001!
reminds me so much of our blue xpress 90's Polaris 300. Had the basket and gun rack of the front. & tall rails in the back.

Hey man thanks for the video!
I love the blue and white, ice for a 2019 in Indy red
Great video..... was looking to buy a 570, and I might have a deal on a decent 450. Would be a slight upgrade from my 2001 Kodiak 400.
Only complaint I’ve had with mine is the break starting switch went out about two years after purchasing. Otherwise it’s been good.

It makes no sense why they make the low beams shut off when the highs are turned on in my opinion, Thanks for the advice though.
Or you could do the 3 light mod and not have a gigantic light bar on the front.
3 light bar mod? what do you mean?
Blue plastic atv, like the honda in the backround

570, hardly cost more and get 30% more power no brainer
450 is a great starter machine. It has plenty of power (enough to do wheelies) and it will have great resale value
Does it come with a horn or do you have to install one?
I have the Polaris sportsman 570 and if u wanna wheely is put it on low

The only issues I came across is a light brake squeal, one fouled plug and it could use a bigger battery. I use it in cold climate though
Someone is asking 3600 for there's with around 1800 miles mainly road. Should I buy?
What’s the top speed
The bars don't come on the 450?? I just got a 2018 450 and it came with the steel racks on it.
Then you bought the 450 utility.
@@cyborg2048 well, of course. If you want the bars on it why not go with the utility in the first place?
I agree.
I got the same one but green and it still is on the 24 hour break In period

4600 out the door or 4600 before tax and doc fees?
