Depending on your guitars action and fret work there's a certain point where when you press down just enough the note rings clear. You don't need to apply more pressure than that which A LOT of players, including myself, do. I've been getting better about it and what has helped me is low action.
You're correct, and strengthening your fingers is key. For me, I like to practice different shapes that build up to a stretch on my pinky. Open/close, wide/narrow. I recommend practicing on bass, after playing the exercises on guitar. This will strengthen muscles you probably dont feel often. But what do I know? I'm just a guy with a Beethoven pfp!

Funny enough when you ask any guitarist in Holland how he/she wants the guitar set-up, it's always "not too low, I need the struggle like I'm ice-skating uphill!", or something to that effect. They usually see a good, light setup almost as a betrayal. Which is why there's so few really great guitarists from Holland 🤣🤣🤣🤣
i can do legato licks more stationary than this- HES USING VERY LOW ACTION WHILE DOING THIS. if you don’t know how to get lower action, look up videos on how to do so. the fastest way your going to get to this point is to NOT focus on being fast, and rather being more precise. find a couple exercises for legato and STICK WITH THEM. don’t have flat fingers either on the fretboard, and please start out slow to make the end result sound as clean as possible with minimal string noise. good luck!

Hey my friend can you do this with a cheap $75.00 guitar with no Axe Fx delay and customized distortion and compression/ sustainer voicing? Also a guitar that the action was set up to perfection with a action that is a credit card height off the frets??? PeAce ✌🏻
Bought this Package of shredlessons/tabs. The one I wanted, this one, wasn't in it. Pretty misleading, maybe you should fix this. Not happy with it to be honest.
You do not pick some of the notes when you do legato? I pick the first ones mostly and sometimes I sweep into the next pattern and then continue with legato.
Makes sense that the lighter the touch the faster you can play, but I guess it's just finding that fine point between force and flow.

I play with low action to develop a lighter touch. It's been working great so far

I'm also a beginner but I would say; start with the basic fundamentals and finger exercises. Keep practicing everyday.
I can't play this or something like it but I started by just looking up easy guitar songs on CZcams
