    Film Brain is ready for action as Outlander's Sam Heughan has to step into a Die Hard-style scenario when his train is taken over in this star-studded Andy McNab adaptation, that serves as perhaps the ultimate proof that the British struggle to make their own action blockbusters.

All logical script clues pointed to Major Bissett being the traitor. I saw NONE indicating Declan Smith as the traitor. Second, Dr. Sophie gave Grace multiple reasons to shoot her. Example, the SAS come to the locked gate in the tunnel, they can"t turn the gear to open it and decry that they cant blow it open lest they alert the terrorists. The next scene, they"re tip-toeing up to yje train. How did they get past the door?
    The "Drop Her" bit was funny and actually a little cathartic for me. "I love you my psycho killer. Never mind the honeymoon love: Go chase the sequel that will never hapoen!"
    I liked Serkis scene chomping btw. And Grace's weird double standard of coldly killing the father for not producing his lost phone in front of his daughter, then chiding her crew repeatedly to be professional (ie dont beat up the girls) was ridiculous.

    As an "American", I really loved this movie. It is not a Die Hard, but Bond 007, heck Yes! It has Roger Moore all over it, and even reminds me of the original The Saint series. Can't wait to see more of Moore (aka. Sam Roland Heughan).

      They're the exception to the rule, in that they have a lot of American money involved.

    The first Die Hard movie was way better then Red Notice. The action scene was horrible. I blame the director.

    Even the S.A.S are Portrayed better in COD MW3 than this film.

    It’s really not that bad, I really enjoyed it for what it was, just silly daft nonsense. Andy Serkis knows exactly what film he’s in, hamming it up for all he’s worth. Sky really need to stop putting Noel Clarke in every single one of thier original productions though!

    • @eamonndeane587
      @eamonndeane587 Před 3 lety +1

      Considering the scandals that have been exposed about Clarke, I think Sky will definitely be cutting down his appearances from now on.

    You lost me when you put Ruby Rose on the list of big stars.

  • @SwiftNimblefoot
    @SwiftNimblefoot Před 3 lety

    Who the hell keeps hiring Ruby Rose? I would have assumed anyone looking at Batwoman saw how talentless as an actress is. And you are right, this guy's fiction is basically british Rainbow Six and just about as cliche. I had assumed even the diehard Call of Duty fans are bored of military crack teams vs terrorists by now. Btw, nice beard! :)

      Maybe the crux is that nobody was looking at Batwoman. I only knew about that show due to EFAP

      I think any actor can work if you cast them in the right role. I didn't mind her in 'The Meg' and I thought she was a good heavy in 'John Wick 2' because her character was silent and stoic.

    If they make this generic white guy the next James Bond I'm convinced the producers just want to end the series once and for all.

      Heughan's a better actor than this film makes him out to be, but I strongly suspect he won't get the part. To be fair, other than the fame, Bond's not a great part; the last few Craig movies have put me to sleep.

      At least it's better than making Bond a woman, because that worked _soooo_ well for Doctor Who...

    • @reappermen
      @reappermen Před 3 lety +3

      @@otaking3582 to be fair, Doctor who is a bad example there, as the gender switch didn't really do much there. The episodes I watched simply had some of the worst writing of new who, jncluding everything besides the gender focus. Scratch the Gender stuff and put Tennant, Smith or Capaldi in there and the episodes would still be fairly bad.

      Better than making him a black woman... 'cause seriously, just make a new franchise for a badass female spy. Don't co-opt a working one.
