- After their mother passed away, Texas brothers Jaylan and Julian faced another tremendous loss when a disastrous winter storm destroyed their home. After getting scammed by a contractor with empty promises, they were forced to live with their grandmother. Fortunately, Mr. Ron and an army of volunteers with local nonprofit Katy Responds stepped up and rebuilt their home. See the brothers' emotional reaction to seeing their finished house for the first time, and watch till the end for another huge holiday surprise!

That would be great since he had to drop out of college when his Mom passed.

Stories like these can truly make your heart melt. I was trying to hold back tears, just fanning my face. But the moment I heard that... that.. 'contractor' ran with the money and did what they did.. Oh.. I just broke. To see the house as it was... Oh, goodness. How can anyone do that to a kid and his big brother?! Just.. how? It saddens me to see things like this happen to good people. I broke at that moment. To do that to two boys who lost so much... that is just low belt. To see the way the house looks now and the boys react, I cried even more. Then the money.. then Kelly adding to that. Kelly, you have texas size heart of gold. It shows in your music.. your talk shows.. just the way you are. We need more good people in this world. We need people like Mr. Ron.. Like Kelly. You just showed us one of the million reasons why Kelly is so highly respected and loved. 😭🥰💗

The 13 yr old is exceptionally wise and intelligent and filled with humility. So well spoken is not out of context nor is it a slight in complimenting them.I understand though where you're coming from but in this case and time we're living in where ignorant language is glorified, these young men choose to honor their mother by exemplifying what type of young men she raised.

I can't watch these without crying. First I'm crying at the losses the boys suffered, then I'm crying out of anger at the "contractor" who made things worse inside the house and then stole the money they had given him as a down payment, then I'm crying when the local volunteer committee rebuilds and refurnishes the home for the boys, and then crying some more when H-E-B Grocery made donations to the boys as well as to Ron as head of the neighborhood foundation. And then to have Kelly throw in another $10,000 of her own - the boys have been given back the amount stolen by the contractor!

I’m balling my eyes out. Also our H-E-B grocery stores in Texas are awesome. They always give back. We are lucky to have H-E-B and their employees going above and beyond. Especially on holidays. They are always doing something for everyone and the kids.
we really are, HEB does SO MUCH for their local communities...did you know it was voted one of the top 5 'national' grocery chains in the country? The article said, yes, they are only in Texas but they have over 250 stores AND are AWESOME! Happy Holidays!

There are some fine people in Texas. Thank you to all of you for helping these kids in the way you did. My faith in Texans has been restored. I have read some awful comments on social media from Texans because those people who really needed assistance, were being helped and they called it hand outs. These wingers and heartless people are like the crook tradesman who took all of the savings of these two young decent boys. Well done to the supermarket chain as well and Clarkson herself. What a fine gesture from all concerned. On ya Texas.
