I think that your making the fact that even the weakest characters can easily destroy the rock material. If you remember back on the land of kais when gohan was practicing with the z sword. Goku wanted to test its power so the supreme kai gave him the universes strongest material. So strong that it broke the z sword and had not a single scratch. Shows even the weakest of characters now are infinitely times stronger in super.
Edit: forgot to add that this material was even stronger than the other one
Also to add, the version in the TOP is actually a stronger version of Katchin.

The most popular fan manga for DBZ out there called Dragon Ball Multiverse has a character who is actually based on that concept. A lot of people think the writers for Super actually stole the idea from the fan manga. It’s also not the first time they borrowed a concept from that fan manga which is what makes some people think that they took the idea from DBM. When Future Trunks fights Vegeta in SS Blue, Trunks goes into his buff mode then quickly switches into his regular skinny mode again which is the technique that Trunks develops in that same fan manga.
Just thought I’d share some trivia. No idea if the writers actually took the idea from the manga or if they just happened to come up with the idea themselves.
